As we roll into my Week 14 RB rankings, we need to lock in as this could be a make or break if you want to have a chance to make the playoffs. Week 14 also brings in one of the worst bye weeks of the season. This week the Ravens, Broncos, Texans, Colts, Patriots, and Commanders. That means no Derrick Henry, no Joe Mixon, no Jonathan Taylor, and no Rhamondre Stevenson.
So, if you have one or possibly two of these RBs on a bye then you need to lock in on these rankings.
Running Back Notes
- Let’s start with Saquon Barkley as my RB1. Barkley is an obvious lock every week. But, let’s take some time to reflect on what he has done up until this point. He has six top-three RB finishes this year. He has 11 rushing touchdowns on the year and 1,499 rushing yards. He has the Panthers this week and can easily finish in the top three yet again this week.
- Now let’s talk about a sleeper RB this week in Tony Pollard. He is my RB17 this week against the Jaguars. On the season the Jaguars are giving up 25.6 fantasy points per game to RBs. So, Pollard has been inconsistent this year, but when he is on he is on. This is the week he pops off for over 20 fantasy points. He has no competition in the backfield as Tyjae Spears has only had 11 carries in the last three games he played. We can call last week a dud for Pollard as the Titans went down three touchdowns in the first quarter. The Titans were forced to throw all game which didn’t help Pollard in fantasy. Start Pollard this week.
- Next, I have Nick Chubb as my RB22. Chubb has three touchdowns in his last two games and he is on the road against the Steelers this week. His two-touchdown game against the Steelers two weeks ago was in the deep snow so, of course, the Browns had to run the ball 20 times with Chubb. This week is a little different. The Steelers are only giving up 19.1 fantasy points per game to RBs this year. On the season Chubb is only averaging 3 yards per carry this season. This is not the week to take the risk on Chubb against a tough defense on the road.
- Lastly, I have Najee Harris as my RB16 against the Browns. Harris has made a major turn compared to last season. He has been a consistent fantasy option and has a great matchup this week. If you are someone who has Taylor or Mixon out this week, Harris is a great option. In the last four weeks, Harris is averaging around 17 carries per game while Jaylen Warren is averaging 9.2 carries. It is clear Warren isn’t stealing any production from Harris.
