Fantasy Football: Week 7 Tight End Streamers and Sleepers

We only have two teams on bye this week which means there are plenty of options for you at tight end. Still, the struggle to find a good one continues. Each week it seems to be a new group at the top of the position ranks. Scoring seems down for the position so matchup and volume are key when looking for tight end sleepers and streamers. Here are the ones we’re targeting in Week 7.

Week 7 Tight End Sleepers and Streamers

Streamers

Noah Fant – Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks are currently the highest passing volume team in the National Football League. Geno Smith has thrown the ball 26 more times than the second-place guy. That is partly because they have been in shootouts and partly because they have one of the best trios of wide receiver groups. On top of the wideouts, tight end Noah Fant seems to be coming into his own as a fantasy asset. He has two games, including last week, where he has seen six targets. He has games where he can put up points, in spite of the fact he has yet to score a touchdown.

In Week 7, the Seahawks play the Atlanta Falcons who are bottom third in giving up points to the tight end position. It’s not a smash matchup but if we are banking on volume for Fant then the Falcons offense should help with that. They are capable of scoring points which should keep the Seahawks passing all game. Fant should continue to be worked into the offense. If he can score a touchdown he will jump up the weekly ranks.

Hunter Henry – New England Patriots

When I’m looking for a tight end streamer I start by looking at matchups. One of the matchups I want to exploit is against the Jacksonville Jaguars. That’s who the New England Patriots and Hunter Henry play in Week 7. The Jags are currently giving up the third most points to the tight end. When you add on top of that the fact that Henry just saw his second-highest target number of the year, it’s a smash streamer play for me. With rookie Drake Maye coming out this past week and looking good against a tough defense I like what he can continue to build.

They are playing the Jags in London, where they will stay all week so travel will be a concern for the Patriots. We often see teams look flat coming across the pond. If the Jaguars can take advantage and get up early the Patriots will have to throw to keep themselves in it. That should mean plenty of opportunity for Hunter Henry. He just scored his first touchdown on the year after having six last season. He’s probably been on your roster but you have never had the faith to start him. This is the week I’m willing to roll him out unless you have one of the top 5 guys.

Zach Ertz – Washington Commanders

Two teams sit atop the leaderboard for total points scored in the NFL. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Washington Commanders. I want pieces of both those offenses on my fantasy football team. One piece that went under-drafted and is still not getting much hype is tight end Zach Ertz. He is currently TE13 on the year and has been as consistent as they come. He only has one down week which came in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns. That was a week where he saw his season high in targets. He has yet to score a touchdown. Not scoring has been a thing this year for tight ends with names like Trey McBride, Travis Kelce, and Dallas Goedert yet to find the end zone.

Ertz goes up against the Carolina Panthers this week which is a great matchup for the veteran. The Panthers are currently giving up the fifth most points to tight ends. They have a solid group of corners who can limit the work for wide receivers but lack solid coverage linebackers or safeties. That is something a veteran like Ertz should be able to exploit and find open spots. He is giving rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels a solid option which has helped him reach his current QB3 rank. Ertz continues to impress and should be in consideration most weeks for your fantasy lineup.

Sleepers

Grant Calcaterra – Philadelphia Eagles

With Dallas Goedert going down with a hamstring injury in the Week 6 contest, Grant Calcaterra stepped up. What’s exciting is he saw the same volume of targets that we have come to expect from Goedert. If Goedert misses the Week 7 matchup I believe that Calcaterra will be a solid option in the Eagles passing game.

The matchup isn’t amazing against the New York Giants. They are one of the toughest defenses against tight ends. It’s a divisional matchup so the stakes are high. With A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith back in the fold the Giants will be looking to keep the big play down and that will open up the middle for Calcaterra. The offensive scheme the Eagles are running puts the tight end position at the top of a lot of passing plays. It means no matter who is starting, will have a solid role.

Mo Allie-Cox – Indianapolis Colts

Don’t look now but the Indianapolis Colts might just have a viable tight end for fantasy football. Mo Allie-Cox has seen four targets in each of the past two games and looks to possibly continue that. He may only be a viable fantasy option with Joe Flacco starting but it’s worth taking a shot on if you are looking for a sleeper tight end.

While Kylen Granson was expected to be the main tight end he hasn’t panned out. Allie-Cox has out-snapped him in the past three games and has seen twice as many targets. It’s a super tough matchup against the Miami Dolphins who are giving up the fourth fewest points to tight ends. A few things need to break the right way for the seven-year vet to be a solid fantasy option. If Anthony Richardson does end up starting I like him less but he still played similar snaps when he was under center earlier in the year.

Will Dissly- Los Angeles Chargers

The passing game for the Los Angeles Chargers has been less than stellar this season. Quarterback Justin Herbert finally passed for over 200 yards this past week for the first time. He does have a touchdown in each game so for fantasy football it has been serviceable. A sneaky play in Week 7 is tight end Will Dissly. He was brought in this year to help the passing game and so far has been very average.

What’s helpful going forward is that Hayden Hurst. He suffered a groin injury that doesn’t sound serious but should at least hinder him in Week 7 if not cause him to miss the game completely. The matchup is in the middle of the road against the Arizona Cardinals. They are currently 17th in giving up points to the tight end position. Dissly should see plenty of opportunities. He has seen 15 targets on the year so far and has only once been under five fantasy points. Consistency is hard to find right now at the tight end position. I like Dissly Week 7 to be a sleeper tight end not many are going to talk about it.
