Fantasy Hockey Goalie Streams For Week 11
Linus Ullmark (55%)
The Buffalo Sabres have to win eventually right? Nothing has gone right for the Sabres this season, but some good news this week as their starting goalie, Linus Ullmark was finally activated off the IR. Ullmark looked good in his first game back making 33 saves in a 3-2 loss to the Boston Bruins. Buffalo plays four games this week all at home, two versus the Flyers on Monday/Wednesday and two versus the Rangers on Thursday/Saturday. The Flyers are one of only two teams that allow more goals against than the Sabres and there’s a good chance Ullmark will play in both of those games. If not he will likely play the next night against the Rangers and then again on Saturday. In any case, Ullmark is line for at least three starts this week. With Carter Hutton (23%) banged up it’s possible Dustin Tokarski (2%) gets whichever game Ullmark sits out.
Jonas Johansson (10%)
Johansson was put into service almost immediately after being traded from the Sabres to the Colorado Avalanche last week. He gave up four goals, however, to the Arizona Coyotes in a 28 save OT effort last Tuesday. Expect Philipp Grubauer (98%) to carry the mail for the Avs of course, but Johansson will likely get one of the back-to-back games on Friday/Saturday at home to the St. Louis Blues. The Avalanche are the stingiest team in the league allowing only 2.24 goals against per game. You can expect Johansson to be the beneficiary of that going forward. He makes an excellent spot start and is very likely available in your league.
Chris Driedger (56%)
Yes I know, it’s Chris Driedger again! While the shine may have come off a bit of one of the more popular streamer goalies this year, Driedger is still a good choice if he’s still available. The Florida Panthers have four games at home this week hosting a Saturday/Sunday mini-series against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Florida is 10-4-3 at home and the Jackets have lost three straight. You can pencil in Driedger for a quality start on the weekend.
Cal Petersen (54%)
It has been a slow ride for Cal Petersen as he has been gradually taking over the net in Los Angeles. In 18 games played this year Petersen is a middling 6-7-3. However, his .923 SV% rank him 10th in the league for goalies with at least 10 starts. Petersen is a very good goalie playing for a not very great team. If you need a goalie for now or the future you could do worse. The Kings play four times this week with a tough road trip to face the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday/Wednesday followed by a pair at home on Friday/Saturday against the San Jose Sharks.
Jack Campbell (57%)
Last week we recommended Jack Campbell. Since then Campbell is 2-0 after taking over the starting job in Toronto while Frederik Andersen (98%) is out. Andersen is dealing with some kind of nagging injury and has been struggling all season. Perhaps it’s due to the injury or perhaps it’s a confidence thing or both. In any case, the Toronto Maple Leafs have decided to see what they have in Jack Campbell who is a former 11th overall pick and at 29 years old has never had this kind of opportunity in his career. The Leafs have four games this week all nicely spread out with no back-to-backs. Jump on the bandwagon now as Campbell could be a very hot commodity by the end of the week.
