There are some real game-changing forwards to consider at least streaming this week in fantasy hockey. These are names that were generally overlooked in fantasy drafts, but have been big factors over the last couple of weeks at minimum and could not only positively impact your team this week, but could be held onto. Regardless, these are the top three choices that should be more available than not to pick up this week.
Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards to Consider for Week 10
Shane Wright, Seattle Kraken
Shane Wright has finally arrived for the Seattle Kraken it seems. The organization wasn’t rushing him into anything and it is finally paying off. After less opportunity than many thought he should have gotten already in his career, the 20-year-old is firmly leading the third line and playing great. He is centering Oliver Bjorkstrand and Eeli Tolvanen but also plays on the second power-play unit.
Wright has seven goals and 11 points in 26 games this season, but that only tells a little bit of the story. He had a 13-game pointless drought before being taken out of the lineup a little while ago. Upon coming back in, he has scored six goals and recorded nine points in eight games and has only gone scoreless in two of the games. Wright is playing more, shooting more now, and mixes in some hits and blocked shots, but the second power-play unit has provided him with four points, so it’s been effective. The Kraken have a tough schedule against the Florida Panthers, Boston Bruins, and Tampa Bay Lightning, but Seattle’s third line matches up well and I expect Wright to still score.
Anders Lee, New York Islanders
Anders Lee is leading the New York Islanders like a captain should right now. He’s not only the voice though. After looking like his career was going to decline at a rapid pace, the veteran is leading the Islanders in goals and points through 29 games. He has 12 goals and 23 points and has been on fire in terms of fantasy hockey as well.
Lee has five goals and 10 points in the last eight games, is most definitely a shooter, and adds a lot of physicality. The veteran line that he’s on is outplaying everyone they come up against, even if the team overall isn’t doing so well. The Islanders play the Los Angeles Kings and then the Chicago Blackhawks two times to close out the week. There is a good opportunity to keep things rolling, especially with the goaltending situation in Chicago right now.
Jake DeBrusk, Vancouver Canucks
It took Jake DeBrusk a little bit of time to settle into Vancouver, but he is now comfortable and has found chemistry with a rejuvenated Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser on the top line of the Canucks. Especially with J.T. Miller out, this line has been carrying the offense and isn’t looking to stop anytime soon.
DeBrusk has nine goals and 11 points in the last eight games and five of them have come on the power play. He is shooting a lot more recently and being rewarded for it, but he can also have some nice hit games here and there as a pleasant surprise. The Canucks play the St. Louis Blues, Panthers, and Bruins, so look for DeBrusk and the top line to continue carrying the team and producing at 5-on-5 and on the power play.

Right now, any of these players are red hot and worth streaming for your fantasy hockey team. All three provide a physical element and it doesn’t seem like a short flash-in-the-pan situation. They will play big roles on their teams and whichever you decide to go with, should do the same for you.
