Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Week 15 Forward Streams

There are some studs that may be available to stream this week or even hold onto if they suit your fantasy hockey needs. While there are some up-and-comers, there is a career resurgence going on that you may want in on. Let’s take a look at the best Week 15 streamers at forward.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards to Consider for Week 15

Matthew Knies, Toronto Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs are seeing the breakout by Matthew Knies they were hoping for as he has already set a career high in goals (16) at the halfway point of the season and has 27 points to go along with that, coming up on his career high in points. The young winger hits a lot, gets in front of shots, takes penalties which helps in a number of fantasy hockey leagues, and has been shooting more than earlier in the season.

In terms of points, he is one of the hottest players right now with five goals and eight points in the last five games. His three goal, five point night definitely helped, but that just shows the potential he has at the top of the Maple Leafs’ lineup. It’s hard to go wrong when he’s playing on the top line with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner. Toronto plays the Dallas Stars, New Jersey Devils, and Montreal Canadiens this week. While it isn’t the easiest schedule, those teams allow goals like any other and you can bet Knies will be part of the Maple Leafs’ offense.

Dmitri Voronkov, Columbus Blue Jackets

Dmitri Voronkov was a little late to the party this season, but that doesn’t matter when looking at his work lately and even for most of the season since he proved he can play top-six minutes. Even with Sean Monahan injured after the top line was playing so well, that hasn’t stopped Voronkov and Kirill Marchenko from continuing to roll. As far as opportunity and success goes, Voronkov has it all on the top line and top power play.

He has points in 11 of his past 13 games for a total of 10 goals and 18 points. He has four multi-point games over that span. It shocks me that he isn’t rostered more across the fantasy hockey landscape, but this is possibly your final chance to grab him if he isn’t already taken. The Columbus Blue Jackets have a favorable schedule, matching up against the Philadelphia Flyers, San Jose Sharks, and New York Rangers.

Jordan Staal, Carolina Hurricanes

Jordan Staal has recently unlocked his offense which seems to have been missing for a long time. He has never been a point-per-game player, but he came close and had some good seasons in his mid-20s. That being said, the Carolina Hurricanes captain is red hot right now and leading the team’s strong third line with five goals and eight points in the last five games.

What makes him more valuable as a third-line player is the areas he hits if your fantasy hockey league involves categories or more than just points help you out. He is a physical player, kills penalties so there’s the chance for more blocks than normal for a forward, and the Hurricanes’ spread out their lines well compared to most other teams. While it would be nice if Carolina played more than twice this week, Staal is playing too well to ignore. The Hurricanes face off against the Buffalo Sabres and Vegas Golden Knights this week.

While Knies and Voronkov should definitely be scooped up immediately and have the potential to be held onto past this week, Staal is doing so well that he could be a great middle-of-the-week streaming option before adding somewhere else for the weekend. Either way, you have great options in Week 15. Make sure to come back next week for more.
