Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Week 3 Forward Streams

The NHL season is in full swing and you will undoubtedly need some changes to your lineup. While it’s worth waiting for some players to figure it out, it isn’t for others and that’s where the fantasy hockey waiver wire comes into play. Below is where you can find some of the best options to stream this week in fantasy as these players aren’t owned in very many leagues and are off to hot starts.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards to Consider for Week 3

Alex Laferriere, Los Angeles Kings

The Los Angeles Kings are still figuring out how to maneuver their forward lines early in the season as some things have worked and others that they would like to work haven’t. Alex Laferriere has been a bright spot for the Kings, scoring on the top line and on the power play. He will likely also spend time on the third line at 5-on-5 but is currently still holding his spot on the top power-play unit.

Laferriere has goals in three of the six games he’s played this season. He sits at four goals and five points with 16 shots and 12 hits. He bangs multiple categories and surprisingly hasn’t scored on the power play yet. His value is already high without the help of the PP, so taking advantage of adding him now could really pay off. It’s tough to find players on the waiver wire who get regular power-play time. The Kings also play the Vegas Golden Knights, San Jose Sharks, and Utah Hockey Club this week, so there is an opportunity to continue to produce.

Anton Lundell, Florida Panthers

In the wake of Aleksander Barkov getting injured, Anton Lundell has stepped up in a major way and has been a game-changer for the Florida Panthers. He is currently lining up on the top line and already has four goals and four assists in seven games with 23 shots. His production has sky-rocketed this season as four goals and seven points have come in the past four games after Barkov’s injury.

Lundell isn’t even technically on the top power play but has power-play points in back-to-back games. Barkov is still expected to be out for some more time, so Lundell is a great addition from a top team to your fantasy hockey team for this week at the very least. The Panthers face off against the Minnesota Wild, New York Rangers, and New York Islanders this week.

Josh Norris, Ottawa Senators

The Ottawa Senators have a favorable schedule this week for fantasy hockey managers. They play on Friday and Sunday, which is away from the regularly loaded game days. On top of that, the Senators have a game earlier in the week as well. This means that adding someone from this team is going to give your lineup more games and you will have to sit fewer players. From this team, Josh Norris is the player to target for this week.

Norris has three goals and five points in five games so far this season. He hasn’t been shooting a ton, but he is hitting and blocking shots at a great rate for a forward. He is still the second-line center between Drake Batherson and Claude Giroux on top of holding down a spot on the top power-play unit. There’s a lot to like about Norris while he’s healthy, so take advantage and it might pay off longer than expected.
