Fantasy Hockey Week 10 Waiver-Wire Goalies

The waiver wire is a great way to add hidden gems and overlooked players to your fantasy hockey club. This is true whether you plan to have them as short-term or long-term parts of your fantasy hockey roster. Now that we are two months into the season, we better understand which waiver-wire goalies are worth snagging. As a result, here are three waiver-wire goalies worth adding to your roster in Week 10.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Goalies to Consider for Week 10

Ilya Samsonov, Toronto Maple Leafs

With Joseph Woll out week-to-week with an ankle injury, the Toronto Maple Leafs’ crease is Ilya Samsonov’s again. While he has had a tough start to the season, he had a huge statement game against the Nashville Predators on Dec. 9. The 26-year-old posted an 18-save shutout and looked extremely confident in the process. Because of this, he is a waiver-wire goalie to consider in Week 10.

Samsonov has also been trending in the right direction as of late, too. In three out of his last four starts, the 2015 first-round pick has had a .931 save percentage (SV%) or better. He appears to be breaking through his early-season struggles, and he’s a waiver-wire candidate worth taking a chance on if still available in your league.

Devon Levi, Buffalo Sabres

After a remarkable collegiate career, the expectation was that Devon Levi would run away with the Buffalo Sabres’ crease this season. Instead, the 21-year-old struggled significantly to start the season and was then sent down to the AHL. However, he has been excellent since his recent call-up, and he’s another waiver-wire goalie to watch because of it.

In his first start of the call-up on Dec. 7, Levi saved 31 out of 32 shots against the red-hot Boston Bruins. He followed that up with 29 saves on 31 shots against the Montreal Canadiens. His brief stint in the AHL has given him more confidence, and his play reflects that. Because of this, he’s a clear waiver-wire goalie to take a chance on this week.

Charlie Lindgren, Washington Capitals

Charlie Lindgren is an underrated netminder who is having an excellent season. In 10 appearances so far, he sports a 6-2-1 record, a 2.34 goals-against average (GAA), and a .931 SV%. He also is not slowing down, as he had a 31-save shutout against the New York Rangers on Dec. 9. Because of this, he warrants some consideration as a waiver-wire addition this week.

Lindgren’s consistency has been a major reason for his success this season. The Capitals have given him more starts because of it, and this should continue as the year rolls on. If your goalies are having some trouble lately, perhaps switch it up with a Lindgren waiver-wire pickup. He has been quite impressive this season and is becoming a hotter commodity in fantasy hockey because of it.

Nevertheless, Week 10 certainly offers some solid waiver-wire options for fantasy managers. Samsonov, Levi, and Lindgren are all playing excellently right now, so they should be considered for your fantasy hockey roster. We will need to wait and see how well they keep this strong play up.
