The fantasy hockey waiver wire is the best place to find players each week who will help your fantasy hockey team win, whether it be for the short term or the long term. You have likely already taken full advantage of this strategy all year in fantasy hockey. As there are every week, there will be strong options on the waiver wire at forward that we will look at. Whether it is only for a few games, these players are worth adding to help your team out. This is the place where you can find great options to take advantage of before anyone else does.
Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards to Consider for Week 24
Morgan Frost, Philadelphia Flyers
Since John Tortorella decided to make the Philadelphia Flyers captain, Sean Couturier, a healthy scratch, Morgan Frost has gotten himself an even larger role on the team. While he was in Tortorella’s dog house earlier in the season, he has found his game and is playing well, just in time for the fantasy hockey playoffs or the final week of the season.
While Couturier could very well be back in the lineup this week, Frost could still find some solid playing time. The Flyers play two of their three games this week against weak opponents, so there is more of a chance that Frost will continue producing. The Flyers start the week with the New York Rangers, but then get the Montreal Canadiens and the Chicago Blackhawks. There are some good chances to strike and Frost has three goals and eight points in his past seven games. He has produced a bit on the power play and taken 2-3 shots per game consistently but will sprinkle in some hits and blocked shots as well since Tortorella expects that from all of his players.
Jake Neighbours, St. Louis Blues
Jake Neighbours has been one of the streakiest players this season, but overall, has had a nice breakout season offensively. Goal-scorers are usually streakier than point producers, but for the time being, Neighbours is hot and should help your fantasy hockey team in an important week. An advantage is that he plays on one of the days that have very few games too, so you can get those extra points.
The St. Louis Blues’ opponents aren’t that strong either. The Vegas Golden Knights haven’t played the best in the second half of the season and are without their starting goalie, the Calgary Flames aren’t in a playoff spot, and the San Jose Sharks are the worst team in the league. With the Blue pushing for a playoff spot themselves, Neighbours has a good opportunity to step up and continue producing. He has five goals and seven points in his past six games while shooting and delivering lots of hits.
Jake DeBrusk, Boston Bruins
Grabbing players from the Boston Bruins is also a smart move this week as they have a game on Wednesday when there are only four teams in action that night. Jake DeBrusk is typically a player that is streamed, so he could be available to you as attention won’t be on him right away. The Bruins play a back-to-back against the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning, then finish the week against the Washington Capitals. These aren’t the best matchups, but the Bruins can score and he is on the top line.
DeBrusk has points in eight of his past 10 games, scoring five goals and adding seven assists. He is a shooter that will have a big hit game here and there and pleasantly surprise you. He isn’t on the top power-play unit, but that hasn’t stopped him from producing there as well. He is a sneaky good add this week and you should pick him up while he’s playing well and is confident.
