Whether it is only for a few games, these players are worth adding to help your team out. This is the place where you can find great options to take advantage of before anyone else does.
Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards to Consider for Week 25
Jake Neighbours, St. Louis Blues
Jake Neighbours has been playing well since the middle of March and really making a difference for the St. Louis Blues and any fantasy owners who have had him over that span. When he’s producing offensively, he hits every category and is a very solid waiver wire pickup to have, especially during fantasy playoffs.
The Blues play four times this week to make things better and have a really favorable weekend facing the San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks. The Blues match up against the Edmonton Oilers and Nashville Predators before that but expect Neighbours to still be in the mix. He is on the first line with Robert Thomas and Pavel Buchnevich and has six goals and nine points in his last nine games. That offense is to go along with penalty minutes, power-play points, shots, hits, and blocks.
Alexis Lafreniere, New York Rangers
Alexis Lafreniere just had arguably his best game of his career with three goals and five points, but that isn’t the only reason why he is worth the add this week. He has really turned it on this season and is starting to look more and more like the top pick that he was. The 22-year-old is up to 25 goals and 52 points on the season and is also on the top line with Artemi Panarin and Vincent Trocheck, both of whom are having great seasons.
Lafreniere has seven goals and 13 points in his last nine games while shooting and starting to play more physically. He doesn’t get time on the top power-play unit which is still a crutch, but has done very well at five-on-five regardless. He too plays four times this week against favorable opponents in the Pittsburgh Penguins, New Jersey Devils, Detroit Red Wings, and Montreal Canadiens. Expect the points to continue flowing for the rising star.
JJ Peterka, Buffalo Sabres
The Buffalo Sabres are still holding onto a glimmer of hope to make the playoffs and that is being helped by JJ Peterka. The young forward has been impressive this season and is tied for the team lead in goals. The second-year winger has 26 goals and 46 points in 75 games, but has five goals in his past five games, scoring in four of them.
Peterka has ramped up the amount he is getting pucks on net by a wide margin, recording at least five shots in four of the past five games as well. He is playing a bit more physically and is on the top line with the also hot Tage Thompson and Alex Tuch. The Sabres play three times this week, but once again the opponents aren’t very strong as they match up against the Washington Capitals, Philadelphia Flyers, and Red Wings.
