Fantasy Hockey Week 8 Waiver-Wire Goalies

The waiver wire is an excellent way to add hidden gems to your fantasy hockey club. This is accurate whether you plan to have them as short-term or long-term parts of your fantasy hockey roster. Now that we are over a month into the season, we better understand which waiver-wire goalies are worth snagging. As a result, here are three waiver-wire goalies worth adding to your roster in Week 8.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Goalies to Consider for Week 8

Adin Hill, Vegas Golden Knights

Adin Hill was a huge reason behind the Vegas Golden Knights winning the Stanley Cup last season. However, given his previous seasons, there was also some concern that he would take a step back in 2023-24. However, Hill has silenced his skeptics and is one of the best goalies in the league right now. In 12 games, he has a 9-2-1 record, a 1.97 GAA, and a .932 SV%. Due to this, if he is still available in your fantasy hockey league, get him immediately as a waiver-wire steal.

Hill has been trending in the right direction as of late, too. He just had a massive performance against the Dallas Stars on Nov. 22, saving 31 out of 32 shots. With that, he also put together a shutout against the San Jose Sharks on Nov. 10. He seems to be only getting better as the season rolls on. Because of this, fantasy managers should not be afraid to add him as a waiver-wire pickup at this point of the year.

Connor Ingram, Arizona Coyotes

The Arizona Coyotes do not get too much attention as a small-market club. Because of this, it may be easy for some to overlook goaltender Connor Ingram. However, that ought to change, as the 26-year-old has been playing wonderfully this season. He currently has a 7-3-0 record, a 2.64 GAA, and a .920 save percentage in 10 games. That alone warrants him more consideration to be a waiver-wire pickup.

With that, Ingram’s play has only been improving as of late. He had a masterful 34-save shutout over the Golden Knights in his last start on Nov. 25, and that should only improve his confidence. Due to this, he is looking like a real breakout candidate for this season, and he should be considered as a waiver-wire goalie because of it.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, Buffalo Sabres

While there was a ton of hype surrounding Devon Levi leading into the season, Ukka-Pekka Luukkonen has been the Buffalo Sabres’ best goalie so far this season. At the time of this writing, he has a .914 SV% in 10 appearances, but that does not tell the entire story. His play has significantly improved over his most recent starts. This is why he should be watched as a waiver-wire candidate in Week 8.

Luukonen has had a .921 SV% or better over his last four appearances, so he is clearly trending in the right direction. With goaltending being a weak point on the Sabres’ roster, seeing UPL step up his game has been massive. Due to this, he is a waiver-wire goalie to take a chance on.

It is clear that fantasy managers have some great waiver-wire goalies to work with in Week 8. Let’s see how this trio performs from here.
