Michael Harris – OF Atlanta Braves, Travis d’Arnaud – C Atlanta Braves
Travis d'Arnaud and Michael Harris II are taking batting practice today. #Braves
— Grant McAuley (@grantmcauley) April 22, 2023
Harris has also been running the bases, working with soft tossing at-bats, taking fly balls in the outfield, and hitting off of a tee in preparation for a return. He is scheduled to ramp things up soon in order for his return. As for d’Arnaud, he is continuing to prepare himself for a return, but not much else has changed.
Jorge Mateo – SS Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles opted to play it safe by keeping Jorge Mateo out of the lineup today.

— Orioles on MASN (@masnOrioles) April 22, 2023
Mateo was originally in the lineup, but manager Brandon Hyde decided at the last minute to make the swap. In the above interview, he states that it was weather related with a slippery field. Makes sense.
Reese McGuire – C Boston Red Sox
Reese McGuire had x-rays on his right hand after getting hit by a foul tip in the ninth. They were negative but he was hurting.
Asked who his emergency catcher was, Alex Cora said he didn't know.
— Pete Abraham (@PeteAbe) April 23, 2023
It’s sounding like he will be in at least a DTD situation, with no idea how severe the situation is.
Kris Bryant – OF Colorado Rockies
While the Rockies seem unconcerned about this injury, fantasy owners will need to find a replacement for Bryant while he is out of action. He has a history of taking a long(er) time to recover from injuries. Last season Bryant missed most of the season due to back and foot injuries. Thankfully this ailment seems unrelated. Regardless, this is something to monitor as an Injury List designation isn’t out of the question.
Chas McCormick – OF Houston Astros
Chas McCormick is back working out with the team today, but not hitting yet. He’s eligible to come off the IL on Tuesday and could get a short rehab stint. pic.twitter.com/nnMflqVNjE
— Brian McTaggart (@brianmctaggart) April 22, 2023
It sounds like McCormick will be out for longer than the ten-day minimum. Still, he shouldn’t be that much farther behind schedule.
Will Smith – C Los Angeles Dodgers
Roberts said today was a better day than yesterday for Smith regarding his concussion symptoms. #Dodgers
— David Vassegh (@THEREAL_DV) April 22, 2023
It’s looking like Smith will miss the next series against the Pirates too before even being considered ready for a return.
Sandy Alcantara – SP Miami Marlins
Marlins Pitcher Sandy Alcantara won’t pitch in Cleveland this weekend. Team is calling it biceps tendinitis. I don’t believe it to be serious at all based on my inquiries. Will start in Atlanta.
— Craig Mish (@CraigMish) April 22, 2023
While it’s discouraging to see an injury like this pop up on such a big name, it looks like Alcantara has avoided anything serious. Mish is quite the respected and connected man within the organization. If he feels it’s nothing serious, then that’s the way the cookie should crumble.
Ramon Laureano – OF Oakland Athletics
It’s great news to see that Laureano has sped up his healing and is already doing a ton of baseball activities. He looks to return next weekend.
Paul Blackburn – SP Oakland Athletics
Blackburn was just finishing up recovery from a nail avulsion when this blister appeared. One of these days he will get to pitch for the A’s.
Ranger Suarez – SP Philadelphia Phillies
Thomson said that Ranger Suárez will probably need three or four rehab outings to build up before returning to the Phillies. They'd like to get him to around 90 pitches.
— Alex Coffey (@byalexcoffey) April 22, 2023
It’s crazy to think that Bryce Harper might be back before Ranger Suarez.
Joc Pederson – OF San Francisco Giants
Joc Pederson is likely to be active tomorrow. Nothing new on Mitch Haniger and Austin Slater, both are getting up to speed with Triple-A Sacramento.
— Alex Pavlovic (@PavlovicNBCS) April 22, 2023
Be prepared.
Paul DeJong – SS St. Louis Cardinals
Paul DeJong will join team in Seattle on Sunday and likely be activated. He’s on his way now. #stlcards
— Derrick Goold (@dgoold) April 23, 2023
Great news and now we’ll be able to see if DeJong’s hard work in the offseason can pay off. The corresponding move should be an interesting one.
Yandy Diaz – INF Tampa Bay Rays
Rays say Yandy Diaz left today’s game due to dehydration. He will be reevaluated tomorrow.
— Tricia Whitaker (@TriciaWhitaker) April 22, 2023
Diaz, the 2023 breakout, should be back in no time, assuming there is nothing additional wrong.
Jeffrey Springs – SP Tampa Bay Rays
Here’s hoping that the surgery for Springs is a success.
