So we get the return of a second-round bat but a first-round slugger may be headed to the IL? That’s not fair! Here is the Fantrax Injury Report for Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

Fantasy Baseball Injury Report
Michael Harris – OF Atlanta Braves
Michael Harris II is set to begin a rehab assignment. Looks like he could return for this weekend’s Mets series or sooner
— Mark Bowman (@mlbbowman) April 24, 2023
Very promising news, as fantasy owners should be looking to activate him midweek. That said, wait for more confirmation from the team itself as we get closer to the date.
Raisel Iglesias – RP Atlanta Braves, Travis d’Arnaud – C Atlanta Braves
Good news for Raisel Iglesias: He’s scheduled to throw live batting practice on Monday.
More good news for Travis d’Arnaud: He hit more today and caught a bullpen session.
— Justin Toscano (@JustinCToscano) April 22, 2023
Iglesias will likely need a rehab assignment before returning, but this is the first time he’ll throw to live batters. As for d’Arnaud, this was his first time catching behind the plate since he left the team with a concussion. It’s unclear how close he is to returning, but this seems like a big step in the right direction.
Joey Votto – 1B Cincinnati Reds
"(He) gave himself a shot to have a chance to be ready for Opening Day. It became pretty clear after that that it was rushed… It's just a matter of physically getting his shoulder physically where he's able to swing the bat the way anyone would need to to play here."
— Charlie Goldsmith (@CharlieG__) April 24, 2023
It’s almost surprising that Votto didn’t reinjure himself while swinging in his rehab assignment. The scary part about all of this is that Votto didn’t relay much of any of this to the team while he was trying to return. It will be a while before we see him play again.
Ryan McMahon – INF Colorado Rockies
#Rockies lineup change: 3B Ryan Mc Mahon is sick. Mike Moustakas takes his place.
— Patrick Saunders (@psaundersdp) April 24, 2023
Consider McMahon as DTD while he battles through this illness.
German Marquez – SP Colorado Rockies
#Rockies RHP Germán Márquez felt good after his Sunday session and is in line to return from right forearm inflammation and start Wednesday afternoon vs. the #Guardians.
— Thomas Harding (@harding_at_mlb) April 24, 2023
Be prepared.
Yordan Alvarez – OF Houston Astros
Yordan Alvarez has apparently been battling neck pain for the last week or so, Dusty Baker said.
— Chandler Rome (@Chandler_Rome) April 24, 2023
For now, Alvarez should be considered DTD with the potential trip to the Injured List being a distinct possibility. He will remain away from the team until something is decided, but this could be a worrisome development.
MJ Melendez – C/OF Kansas City Royals
Quatraro says #Royals are hoping MJ Melendez (lower back tightness) can avoid an IL stint. He’s out of the lineup today and is still stiff.
— Anne Rogers (@anne__rogers) April 24, 2023
Other than hope, there isn’t much new to go on here, other than the fact that Melendez didn’t play last night. There have been some thoughts that if he does play today in Arizona, it will be as the team’s Designated Hitter due to the fact that the game will be on turf.
Max Muncy – 3B Los Angeles Dodgers
Can confirm what @jorgecastillo just reported. Max Muncy is going on the paternity list and Michael Busch will be joining the #Dodgers in Pittsburgh.
— Juan Toribio (@juanctoribio) April 24, 2023
Exciting times as Muncy welcomes a new baby into the world and prospect Michael Busch finally gets the call.
Miami Marlins – Team Report
Sandy threw 25-pitch pen
Arraez left knee bruise
Chargois played catch to 75 feet
Cueto 3 innings Wednesday
Enright threw extended spring 2day
Nance throws pen 2morrow
Rogers no throw
Sixto Wednesday extended spring 1 IP
Wendle hit off machine, full workout
— Christina De Nicola (@CDeNicola13) April 24, 2023
A lot to unpack here. Alcantara threw 25 pitches and is still in line to pitch for the team this weekend. Arraez has missed two consecutive days and could just need some time to reset. Cueto continues to try to return to the team’s rotation, and three innings is a good way of doing that. Rogers remains shut down from throwing and will continue to be so for quite some time. As for Wendle, he looks to be just about ready for a rehab assignment.
Adrian Houser – P Milwaukee Brewers
Adrian Houser threw 69 pitches in 4 2/3 innings yesterday and the plan is for him to make at least one more Triple-A start, Craig Counsell said. https://t.co/4grVEtjCq1
— Adam McCalvy (@AdamMcCalvy) April 24, 2023
Houser looks to be just about ready to return to the Brewers, but it’s unclear if he’ll do so in the rotation. Colin Rea has been serviceable in his absence, but he might be better in relief.
Joey Bart – C San Francisco Giants
He will be evaluated by team doctors.
— Susan Slusser (@susanslusser) April 25, 2023
If Bart needs time away, this would be the second injury to start the season for him. Blake Sabol likely becomes an instant beneficiary of this absence yet again.
Jose Siri – OF Tampa Bay Rays
#Rays Siri was back with team today and went through full pregame workout. Assuming hamstring feels good tonight/morning he is likely to be activated for Tuesday game vs. his former #Astros mates
— Marc Topkin (@TBTimes_Rays) April 24, 2023
Be prepared.
Chris Bassitt – SP Toronto Blue Jays
Chris Bassitt told us that he had been dealing with a little tightness in his back since he was in the bullpen before the game. Erred on the side of caution in coming out when he did. Doesn’t think he’ll miss a bullpen, never mind a start. #Bluejays
— Mike Wilner (@Wilnerness) April 25, 2023
The team played it safe here with Bassitt. After the game, he said that he felt fine, though evaluations today will make things more clear.
