Graham Ashcraft – SP Cincinnati Reds
Graham Ashcraft is set to return from the IL and start on Saturday.
"He's doing good. It'll be great to have him back on the mound tomorrow," manager David Bell said.

Be prepared.
Cal Quantrill – SP Cleveland Guardians
Scratch that. He’ll now pitch Sunday in Akron. https://t.co/r90RN4PlgQ
— Mandy Bell (@MandyBell02) June 23, 2023
Quantrill’s rehab assignment gets delayed by two days and dropped down one level. Either way, he is one step closer to a return.
Will Brennan – OF Cleveland Guardians
#Guardians OF Will Brennan told me he jammed his left shoulder Wednesday night on the diving catch in right but he expects to be back in the lineup Saturday or Sunday at the latest

While this is just talk by the injured player himself, it’s still encouraging that it doesn’t seem to be a long-term injury. Keep an eye on his status this weekend.
Michael Brantley – OF Houston Astros, Jose Urquidy – SP Houston Astros
We have made the following moves:
Acquired RHP Spenser Watkins from Baltimore in exchange for cash considerations. He has been optioned to Triple A.
Selected OF Bligh Madris to the Major League roster.

— Houston Astros (@astros) June 23, 2023
Both players aren’t expected back for a while, so these moves clear up a roster spot for the team. For context, Urquidy just recently threw a 17-pitch bullpen while Brantley took batting practice. Both will need extended rehab assignments.
Salvador Perez – C Kansas City Royals
Salvador Perez left tonight’s game
with a right hamstring cramp. Royals say he is day to day— Joel Goldberg (@goldbergkc) June 24, 2023
The extent of the injury isn’t yet known, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Perez miss the rest of the weekend. Stay tuned.
Max Muncy – 3B Los Angeles Dodgers, Chris Taylor – OF Los Angeles Dodgers
Dave Roberts said Max Muncy won’t be activated tomorrow either. Him being activated this weekend isn’t a guarantee. Still feeling some tightness, Roberts said.
Chris Taylor is still feeling “balky,” Dave Roberts said. Can still pinch-hit, but that’s it right now.
— Fabian Ardaya (@FabianArdaya) June 23, 2023
Muncy’s injury is one of life’s greatest mysteries. His diagnosis has been all over the place, so for his return, it’s best to wait and see. It has been anywhere from a DTD situation to a Grade 2 strain. Either way, be ready to activate him at a given notice. As for Taylor, it would seem that he’ll be back in the lineup early next week. He may need the weekend to finish getting himself right.
Daniel Hudson – RP Los Angeles Dodgers
Dave Roberts said Daniel Hudson is expected to head to Arizona to pitch an inning on Tuesday. If he comes out of that well, Hudson should be activated next weekend.
— Matthew Moreno (@Matthew__Moreno) June 23, 2023
An interesting final step in Hudson’s recovery. Mark that on your calendars. And be sure to stash him if you already haven’t.
Eric Lauer – SP/RP Milwaukee Brewers
According to Brewers GM Matt Arnold, Eric Lauer is “working through some additional work on his health.” While Lauer awaits further information, the Sounds were granted the right to place him on the inactive list and free up a roster spot for another pitcher.
— Adam McCalvy (@AdamMcCalvy) June 23, 2023
Whatever the issue may be, the best is wished for Lauer at this time.
Nestor Cortes – SP New York Yankees
Nestor Cortes is about a week away from getting on a mound, per Aaron Boone. #Yankees
— Gary Phillips (@GaryHPhillips) June 23, 2023
Once he achieves that mark of mound work, he will need to work his way up to live hitters and a rehab assignment. He has a long way to go before returning, and likely won’t be back until after the All-Star Break.
Ramon Laureano – OF Oakland Athletics
Per A’s training staff: Ramón Laureano’s fractured right hand stems from getting hit by a pitch in Milwaukee earlier this month. The slide into third base last week injured his left hand.
— Martín Gallegos (@MartinJGallegos) June 23, 2023
This is an important clarification. It shows that he’s struggling with two injured hands for two different reasons. It’s quite possible that he remains out for longer than the ten-day minimum.
Michael Wacha – SP San Diego Padres
Michael Wacha has shoulder fatigue, Bob Melvin says, noting that the plan is for Wacha to skip one start then return to the rotation. Hence, the Waldron move. https://t.co/lzgCHGJHaN
— AJ Cassavell (@AJCassavell) June 23, 2023
We may have seen the beginning of Wacha’s fatigue in his last start. He pitched through six innings and failed to record a strikeout. This was odd considering he had just thrown 16-plus innings with 20 strikeouts. He’s likely to return the next time through the rotation.
Mike Yastrzemski – OF San Francisco Giants
Mike Yastrzemski is going on the IL. He felt good yesterday, but was sore when he tried to test hamstring today.
— Alex Pavlovic (@PavlovicNBCS) June 24, 2023
Yastrzemski will get the next ten days to get better and back into the Giants’ lineup. Blake Sabol should once again get some outfield reps.
