Gunnar Henderson – INF Baltimore Orioles
“We are confident (it’s not an IL situation). He is definitely trending better from last night.“
Brandon Hyde gave some encouraging news on Gunnar Henderson after he exited last night’s game with an injury. https://t.co/3qqmrrwRkE pic.twitter.com/9wlYtnUwaS
— Orioles on MASN (@masnOrioles) June 4, 2023
Henderson did not play nor did he come in from off the bench, which was speculated on before the game. The team will likely take things slowly with him, despite their winning ways. He seems to be trending in the right direction, but time will tell if that’s so.
Adam Duvall – OF Boston Red Sox
"I would imagine they would want him back as soon as they can get him back… rejoin the team in New York"

— NESN (@NESN) June 4, 2023
The return is speculation, but the discussion makes sense. Duvall gives the Red Sox a powerful bat in the outfield, which is something they miss. He had always said that June 9 was his target date to return. He has started in the outfield, so now it could just be a matter of time.
Cod Bellinger – OF Chicago Cubs
Cody Bellinger feels like he’s made some good strides the past few days in his running/agility work. Still undecided if a rehab assignment will be necessary, but he did think a return on this road trip is “probably too aggressive.”
— Jordan Bastian (@MLBastian) June 4, 2023
Bellinger last played on May 15, when he made that unreal catch that catapulted this injury. Assuming that he doesn’t return on June 11, that would be just under one full month without playing. That would be a long time to not play and go without a rehab assignment. Chances are he remains out until at least the end of June.
Hunter Greene – SP Cincinnati Reds
Hunter Greene is dealing with some hip stiffness. He’s scheduled to pitch Sunday in St Louis. Abbott on Monday, rest pushed back a day
— C. Trent Rosecrans (@ctrent) June 4, 2023
This could be something or it could be nothing. His next scheduled start appears to be next Sunday, but anything can change as the MLB Probable Pitchers page can change at any time. Stay tuned.
Amed Rosario – SS Cleveland Guardians
Amed Rosario left tonight's game with left knee soreness. https://t.co/TDIBnrC6kj
— Zack Meisel (@ZackMeisel) June 4, 2023
Rosario has been awful this season, and now he’s battling an injury. Hopefully, time off will help him get better. Consider him DTD for now.
Jose Altuve – 2B Houston Astros
Jose Altuve is out of the lineup today managing his oblique issue but ran and threw on the field. He did not hit. Astros manager Dusty Baker said Altuve is day-to-day. When asked if that means Altuve could play Monday in Toronto, Baker said “Tomorrow’s a long ways off.”
— Danielle Lerner (@danielle_lerner) June 4, 2023
The Astros never seem to want to commit to anything, so there’s no real idea if Altuve will play today. The good news is that he was doing everything but hit before the game. That said, obliques are tricky, and any swing could set him back even longer.
Anthony Rendon – 3B Los Angeles Angels
Anthony Rendon could return Tuesday. Wednesday might be more likely. But almost certainly one of those two days, Nevin said.
— Sam Blum (@SamBlum3) June 4, 2023
Be prepared.
Willy Adames – SS Milwaukee Brewers
Willy Adames will DH today for the Timber Rattlers, then the plan is for him to play two games with Nashville. He could be activated as soon as Thursday if he has no symptoms in his rehab games.
— Curt Hogg (@CyrtHogg) June 4, 2023
Fingers crossed that Adames is able to go symptom-free and return later this week.
Brandon Woodruff – SP Milwaukee Brewers
Brandon Woodruff is still throwing on flat ground. The target for his return is around the All-Star break. https://t.co/ACNuo3lSfk
— Adam McCalvy (@AdamMcCalvy) June 4, 2023
That is relatively good. news for Woodruff, in that he hasn’t had any setbacks. The next step will have him step onto a mound and pitch from there. Having a speculative return date in mind is good, but it’s by no means set in stone.
Wade Miley – SP Milwaukee Brewers
Wade Miley hopes to be one and done in the Minors but Eric Lauer believes he has a couple of starts on the books.
"I think a lot of it's going to be predicated on the results I get," Lauer said. "Because, obviously, what we've seen this year hasn't been very result-y."
— Adam McCalvy (@AdamMcCalvy) June 4, 2023
Miley’s return has been a surprise, as he is aiming to return far quicker than was estimated. Here’s hoping that it all works out and he can be back since the Brewers need him.
Luis Urias – INF Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers are finally starting to receive good injury news. Luis Urias is returning on Tuesday, and Willy Adames began a rehab assignment today. Eric Lauer, Matt Bush, and Wade Miley aren’t far behind. https://t.co/7vgr0idOrU
— Jack Stern (@ByJackStern) June 4, 2023
Be prepared.
Carlos Correa – SS Minnesota Twins, Bron Buxton – DH Minnesota Twins, Alex Kirilloff – 1B Minnesota Twins
Carlos Correa (foot) and Byron Buxton (ribs) remain out of the #MNTwins lineup today.
Rocco Baldelli said he's "optimistic" Correa and Buxton will return to the lineup Tuesday at Tampa Bay. Twins are off Monday.
Alex Kirilloff is also out of the lineup today due to an illness.
— Aaron Gleeman (@AaronGleeman) June 4, 2023
With the team off today, we may not get updates on both Correa and Buxton until closer to game time on Tuesday. As for Kirilloff, he could be back for Minnesota’s next game.
Royce Lewis – 3B/SS Minnesota Twins
Royce Lewis is OK. Didn’t require any X-rays but said he’s going to be sore for a few days. Had a big cut along the curve of his face on his forehead. #MNTwins
— DanHayesMLB (@DanHayesMLB) June 4, 2023
Lewis took quite a tumble after running into and flipping over the Guardinas’ first baseman on a ground ball. He landed awkwardly on his head but is somehow okay going forward. He looks to be DTD for now.
Kenta Maeda – SP Minnesota Twins
Kenta Maeda, on a rehab assignment, made his second start at AAA St. Paul: 3 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 4 K, 1 HR.
His fastball topped out at 90.7 mph. He threw 45 pitches.
— Bobby Nightengale (@nightengalejr) June 4, 2023
Everything here looks good except his velocity. Maeda averages anywhere from 91 – 92 mph back in the years when he was more successful. Even here, he topped out at 90.7, with no word on where he averaged. He should require at least another rehab outing before returning.
Nestor Cortes – SP New York Yankees
Aaron Boone said Nestor Cortes will “probably” go on the IL. Shoulder injury. May need to miss one or two starts.
— Chris Kirschner (@ChrisKirschner) June 4, 2023
Cortes had recently increased his velocity. He had been working with the team to unlock a higher velocity, and there’s a possibility that this is the end result. It’s unclear how serious the injury is, though the team doesn’t think it will require surgery. We will know more over the next two days.
Aaron Judge – OF New York Yankees
Aaron Judge (R big toe) expects to have X-rays and/or an MRI when the team returns to New York.
— Bryan Hoch ⚾️ (@BryanHoch) June 5, 2023
Yikes. There is some speculation that it could be a broken toe. Whatever the case, we will know more once Judge gets tested and we have verification as to what is wrong. The Yankees are off today.
Jose Alvarado – RP Philadelphia Phillies
José Alvarado will make another minor league appearance, likely Tuesday in Reading, before possibly coming off the injured list. He gave up one hit, hit a batter, and struck one out Saturday for Lehigh Valley.
— Scott Lauber (@ScottLauber) June 4, 2023
Alavardo continues to pitch effectively while rehabbing. He should be back soon.
Xander Bogaerts – SS San Diego Padres
Bogaerts has said that he’s dealt with injuries similar to this for years. He doesn’t feel that he needs to go on the Injured List and that this is manageable over smaller amounts of time off. As it states, he is unable to get another cortisone shot until the All-Star Break, primarily because of the potential cartilage damage that it could cause. There’s a chance that he misses time here and there in order to help manage the situation. Fantasy managers should be aware of this situation and possibly sell as high as they can. He is a borderline elite talent when healthy, but there’s a chance he misses at least one game a week going forward.
San Francisco Giants – Team Update
Giants expect to get Joc Pederson and Thairo Estrada back on Tuesday at Coors Field. Alex Wood should be back in 15 days, TBD on rotation plans for now but they do have a couple off days coming.
— Alex Pavlovic (@PavlovicNBCS) June 4, 2023
Great news on Estrada and Pederson, and what a place for them to return. As for Wood, a minimum stay on the Injured List is expected, which is also good news, relatively speaking.
Andres Munoz – RP Seattle Mariners
Andres Munoz made his 2nd rehab appearance, three days after the first. It went K – BB – caught stealing – groundout. 15 pitches, 10 sliders 5 fastballs. FB 97-99.
— Mike Curto (@CurtoWorld) June 3, 2023
There was some speculation that Munoz would return on Tuesday, so keep that in mind going forward.
Brandon Lowe – 2B Tampa Bay Rays
#Rays Cash said it was a back issue with B. Lowe (not left leg as announced) and they’re not sure yet of the severity
— Marc Topkin (@TBTimes_Rays) June 4, 2023
With no word on the severity of the issue, it’s unclear if he will be back soon or not. The team may want to take its time with Lowe, given his injury history last season with his back.
Wander Franco – SS Tampa Bay Rays
Kevin Cash on Wander Franco, who said he felt the hamstring in the box in the 7th inning of Game 1: “Very encouraged the way he came in today. Just want to be smart. We’ll have him available. But if we can buy an extra day, I don't think it would hurt. He really wants to play.”
— Ryan Bass (@Ry_Bass) June 4, 2023
Franco missed yesterday’s game but there’s a chance that he plays today. Consider him DTD.
Jose Siri – OF Tampa Bay Rays
Jose Siri was scratched due shoulder soreness. Happened during the last play of the game last night, but is available off the bench.
— Ryan Bass (@Ry_Bass) June 4, 2023
Siri did come off the bench, so perhaps this injury is obsolete now.
Leody Tavares – OF Texas Rangers, Ezequiel Duran – INF Texas Rangers
Re: Rangers lineup:
–Taveras has a bruise on knee from slide yesterday (as does Seattle's J.P. Crawford)
–Duran had a bit of tightness in-game yesterday, but seemed fine today. Took him out yesterday because they could & to be careful
— Evan Grant (@Evan_P_Grant) June 4, 2023
Consider both Tavares and Duran DTD for now until otherwise noted.
