Lourdes Gurriel – OF Arizona Diamondbacks
Gurriel has been out of action for quite a while. He has yet to be brought in off the bench, which seems like the way to go before settling back into the starting lineup.
Carson Kelly – C Arizona Diamondbacks
It was mentioned in this article that the split between Kelly and Moreno has not yet been determined upon his return. He also needs to maintain and regain strength and stamina before that call-up happens.
Justin Steele – SP Chicago Cubs
Justin Steele (left forearm strain) will have a touch-and-feel throw today. Ross said yesterday he’s on track to start June 17 vs. Orioles.
— Meghan Montemurro (@M_Montemurro) June 7, 2023
Be prepared.
Jake Fraley – OF Cincinnati Reds
Jake Fraley (wrist) scratched Wednesday.
— Underdog MLB (@Underdog__MLB) June 7, 2023
Fraley has a wrist contusion after being HBP on Tuesday. He did play through the injury on Tuesday but needed time off Wednesday. Consider him DTD.
Nick Senzel – OF Cincinnati Reds, TJ Friedl – OF Cincinnati Reds
David Bell said Nick Senzel and TJ Friedl could return from the IL as soon as they’re eligible. Saturday would be the day for Friedl.
— Charlie Goldsmith (@CharlieG__) June 7, 2023
While nothing is set in stone, this report is at least a positive one. It’s looking like both injuries are not to be considered serious. That said, anything can happen between now and then, so don’t hold your breath.
Hunter Renfroe – OF Los Angeles Angels
#Angels Transactions:
•Recalled OF Jo Adell from Triple-A Salt Lake
•Placed OF Hunter Renfroe on paternity list
— Angels PR (@LAAngelsPR) June 7, 2023
The Renfroe family is wished well.
Noah Syndergaard – SP Los Angeles Dodgers
Some of Dave Roberts' comments on Noah Syndergaard: "I know there's things with that blister that he's had to deal with that he certainly doesn't want to make excuses for. I know there was a fingernail break tonight that he's not going to make excuses for."
— Matthew Moreno (@Matthew__Moreno) June 8, 2023
While the fingernail issue is some cause for concern, it would seem that could be seen as an excuse rather than a reason. Syndergaard has been hit hard all season long and looks like a shell of his former self. All that being said, there are rumors of him heading to the Injured List for a blister/fingernail issue. Stay tuned.
Miguel Rojas – SS Los Angeles Dodgers
Dave Roberts said Miguel Rojas' neck has been bothering him the past couple days. Tonight, he felt it was impacting his swing.
Rojas will be down tomorrow. His status for Friday is TBD. https://t.co/QOT7XDu1UM
— Jack Harris (@Jack_A_Harris) June 8, 2023
This is all that is currently known, but the updates should trickle in as we get closer to Friday. Stay tuned.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. – 2B/OF Miami Marlins
Jazz Chisholm Jr received a positive report from foot specialist today, per #Marlins
He will begin to ease into baseball activities and travel with the team on the road trip.
— Jordan McPherson (@J_McPherson1126) June 7, 2023
This is definitely positive news, as Chisholm was waiting to hear about if he could take the next step forward. Traveling with the team allows him the chance to quickly get himself into game shape while potentially testing out his injured toe in the process. It’s possible that he maintains the original four to six-week timeline.
Edward Cabrera – SP Miami Marlins
Per Bally broadcast, it was a blister for #Marlins' Edward Cabrera that led to his early exit.
— Jordan McPherson (@J_McPherson1126) June 7, 2023
The hope here is that the blister doesn’t require a fifteen-day trip to the Injured List. There should be more updates soon as to the status of Cabrera.
Pete Alonso – 1B New York Mets
Pete Alonso update: X-rays on his left wrist were negative. The Mets are calling it a bruise and say he is day-to-day.
— Tim Healey (@timbhealey) June 8, 2023
Alonso got HBP in the wrist and had to leave the game. He was immediately taken away for X-rays, but the good news is that the results came back negative. Consider him DTD for now, with the possibility of missing only a handful of games.
Aaron Judge – OF New York Yankees
The Yankees won't have a timetable for Aaron Judge's return until after the weekend, Aaron Boone said. Boone said Judge is "pretty sore" after receiving an injection in his toe.
— Bryan Hoch ⚾️ (@BryanHoch) June 7, 2023
Fans everywhere can collectively hold their breaths while we await the news. Chances are that Judge will need a bit longer than the ten-day minimum, but the hope is that he can return before the end of June. Stay tuned.
Carlos Rodon – SP New York Yankees
Carlos Rodón said he threw 20ish pitches to Oswaldo Cabrera and "Rake" Bauers. Fastball sat 92-94 mph, and he threw everything. Next step is another live session but he's not sure when yet.
This was his first time on the Yankee Stadium mound since signing. #Yankees https://t.co/DHSg0o7FK0
— Gary Phillips (@GaryHPhillips) June 7, 2023
This was another step forward for Rodon, who has now raised his velocity in two consecutive short outings. He also threw all of his pitches here, not just his fastball. While last year’s average fastball velocity sat at just under 96 mph, the fact that he could reach 94 mph here is encouraging. He still has a long way to go, but he’ll look to build on this with more live batter sessions. There has been no word yet on a rehab assignment.
Nelson Cruz – UT San Diego Padres
Here comes the BOOM(STICK)
7x All-Star, 4x Silver Slugger Winner, 2011 ALCS MVP, and holder of 462 career HRs @Padres Nelson Cruz is scheduled to begin his MLB Rehab Assignment with us this series vs OKC!

Cruz is less than a week removed from injuring his hamstring. He looks to be trending in the right direction for a quick return.
Pete Fairbanks – RP Tampa Bay Rays
#Rays Fairbanks, on the IL with left hip inflammation, will throw to hitters on Friday at the Florida Complex League team site in Sarasota. How that goes will determine if he needs another minor-league rehab outing or could return Monday when eligible.
— Marc Topkin (@TBTimes_Rays) June 7, 2023
Big day for Fairbanks on Friday. Fingers crossed that he’ll be back on Monday.
Brandon Lowe – 2B Tampa Bay Rays
It is a disc herniation for #Rays B. Lowe https://t.co/icjcJByVYj
— Marc Topkin (@TBTimes_Rays) June 7, 2023
This is awful news for a few reasons. One, Lowe had back problems last season which cost him most of the year. He will take the next two to three weeks to shut things down and hopefully get things right.
Danny Jansen – C Toronto Blue Jays
Danny Jansen is on track for a Triple-A rehab assignment this weekend.
If all goes well, that lines him up to rejoin the #BlueJays in Baltimore on Tuesday.
— Keegan Matheson (@KeeganMatheson) June 7, 2023
Be prepared.
Victor Robles – OF Washington Nationals
Victor Robles just ran the bases here during pregame workouts, looked good. Decision coming later today about sending him on a rehab assignment.
— Mark Zuckerman (@MarkZuckerman) June 7, 2023
Robles has been out of action for quite a while, so this is an encouraging development. A rehab assignment soon would be ideal in order to get him back within the next week or so.
