Fantrax MLB Injury Report
Corbin Carroll – OF Arizona Diamondbacks
"It hurt but I didn't feel anything pop. It just felt like I hit a wall really hard, right?"
Corbin Carroll with an update on how he's feeling the day after. He is out of the lineup today and considered day-to-day. pic.twitter.com/28M69Q7404
— Bally Sports Arizona (@BALLYSPORTSAZ) April 30, 2023
Some clarity on the Carroll situation. Essentially, he’s in pain, but it doesn’t look like anything serious. Consider him DTD.
Raisel Iglesias – RP Atlanta Braves
Raisel Iglesias in Sunday's rehab outing: One scoreless inning, one strikeout, 12 pitches, eight strikes
Raisel Iglesias in Thursday's rehab outing: One scoreless inning, one strikeout, 12 pitches, eight strikes
I love baseball
— Justin Toscano (@JustinCToscano) April 30, 2023
Not only is Iglesias pitching well, but he looks to be efficient. It has been said that he won’t need to make back-to-back appearances before returning. There’s been no indication of how many appearances either. Just know that he’s close and it could be any day this week.
Kenley Jansen – RP Boston Red Sox
Kenley Jansen said he was feeling better and hoped to start playing catch again in a few days.
Doesn't seem like an IL thing but also doesn't sound he'll be pitching for a few days.
— Pete Abraham (@PeteAbe) April 30, 2023
Looks like a cloudy situation on the day that lineups lock. The team plays today, so Jansen is likely out for that, and possibly the entire Jays’ series. After that, it’s up in the air, but the guess is he’ll return by the weekend.
Andrew Benintendi – OF Chicago White Sox
Pedro Grifol said Andrew Benintendi is better but still dealing with a bruised elbow, suffered when he was hit by a pitch Friday night. Grifol said tomorrow’s off day will be good for Benintendi and expects him back in the lineup Tuesday against the Twins.
— Vinnie Duber (@VinnieDuber) April 30, 2023
Consider Benintendi DTD unless otherwise told.
Luis Robert – OF Chicago White Sox
Pedro Grifol said Luis Robert Jr. needs to communicate about how he’s feeling, but said he also understands him wanting to be in the lineup to help the team out of a losing streak.
Said “it was a mistake,” but lauded Robert as a hard worker throughout.
— James Fegan (@JRFegan) April 30, 2023
This was after the game on Saturday where Robert infamously trotted his way to first base instead of running out a ground ball. The team’s manager said that he needs to communicate with staff better to let them know of any ailments they may have.
Reynaldo Lopez – RP Chicago White Sox, Eloy Jimenez – OF Chicago White Sox
Pedro Grifol said Reynaldo López was removed with some fatigue or dead arm in his bicep.
Grifol also informed that Eloy Jiménez is not 100 percent and limited in his running while dealing with leg soreness. But Sox wanted his bat in there, and he had four hits.
— Vinnie Duber (@VinnieDuber) April 30, 2023
Lopez will likely get some time to rest and recuperate due to his dead arm. He may require a trip to the Injured List, but nothing has been made official. As for Jimenez, while he still managed four hits with leg soreness, it’s unclear how sustainable this is to continue pushing him forward. Perhaps some time off would help, though he has the reputation of a slow healer.
Jose Urquidy – SP Houston Astros
Dusty Baker said José Urquidy had right shoulder soreness. He felt something was off when he threw a pitch in the sixth inning. He’ll see a doctor tomorrow and the Astros will know more then.
— Danielle Lerner (@danielle_lerner) May 1, 2023
More will be known today, but it’s possible that he misses time on the Injured List. Stay tuned.
Garrett Cooper – 1B Miami Marlins
Garrett Cooper exited the game with an upset stomach per the #Marlins
— Andre Fernandez (@FernandezAndreC) April 30, 2023
Consider Cooper DTD until we hear anything different.
Brandon Woodruff – SP Milwaukee Brewers
Brandon Woodruff’s MRI results were “positive” all things considered, Matt Arnold just told us. If things progress as hoped, he is trending toward a return at the end of June.
— Curt Hogg (@CyrtHogg) April 30, 2023
The good news is that if all goes well, Woodruff can return before July, which is positive. The bad news is that any setback whatsoever, even the tiniest one, can result in a post-ASB return at best.
Milwaukee Brewers Injury Updates
Other Brewers injury updates:
-Expect Adrian Houser to be activated on the upcoming trip. Sounds like role is TBD but I would guess he's going to start.
-Luis Urías is running at 50%
-Tyrone Taylor is "very close" to returning, possibly at the front end of the road trip https://t.co/ukvflpHrBm— Curt Hogg (@CyrtHogg) April 30, 2023
It sounds like the team will be getting some reinforcements by the end of this week in Houser and Taylor. Both are needed as the team is reeling a bit. As for Urias, he is eligible to come off of the 60-day Injured List at the end of this month but still has many hurdles to overcome.
Tyler Mahle – SP Minnesota Twins
Tyler Mahle’s MRI showed a posterior impingement and a flexor pronator strain. #MNTwins shutting him down for next four weeks.
— DanHayesMLB (@DanHayesMLB) April 30, 2023
Ouch. Mahle will miss at least four weeks with an injury, and then be re-evaluated. There’s no telling what that re-evaluation will say. While more will be known in June, he can be dropped in redraft leagues if there isn’t an IL spot available for him, due to the vagueness and length of this injury.
Luis Severino – SP New York Yankees
Luis Severino is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment on Wednesday or Thursday in Tampa, per Boone.
— Greg Joyce (@GJoyce9) April 30, 2023
That’s great news for Severino and for fantasy owners everywhere. That said, it’ll likely be a lengthy rehab assignment.
Carlos Rodon – SP New York Yankees
Interesting development here, in that he could be just in his ramp-up stage and not necessarily the healing stage of his return. The key word here is “could”, as that’s speculation from the information that’s been presented.
Bryce Harper – OF Philadelphia Phillies
News: Bryce Harper is seeing the doctor Monday morning. If he's cleared, he is expected to return to the Phillies' lineup Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium — 160 days after Tommy John surgery.

Words cannot express how incredible a feat this would be.
Alex Wood – SP San Francisco Giants
Alex Wood (hamstring) threw a bullpen session yesterday and will do a two inning simulated game Tuesday before likely going on a (maybe short) rehab assignment.
— Susan Slusser (@susanslusser) April 30, 2023
It was originally believed that Wood’s absence would be a long one, but here we are with him already throwing bullpen sessions. Great news, though he still has to complete the simulated game before rehab. That said, things are looking up for Wood.
Ty France – 1B Seattle Mariners
Ty France is under the weather isn’t out on the field for groundballs.
— Ryan Divish (@RyanDivish) April 30, 2023
It looks like nothing more than a day off for France who is under the weather.
