Yasmani Grandal – C Chicago White Sox

Grandal left yesterday’s game with tightness in his back, despite hitting the ball quite well. He’s likely DTD for now until we’re otherwise told. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him miss today’s game.

TJ Friedl – Cincinnati Reds

Friedl came out of the game midway through, as he felt a pain in his side after tracking down a fly ball. There’s nothing on the severity of the situation, but the MRI should reveal any and all diagnoses. Consider him DTD with more information to come.

Joey Votto – 1B Cincinnati Reds

This is a step in the right direction, as Votto has slowly been brought along. This is a big change from the earliest parts of Spring Training, where he was pushing himself to come back and admitted he returned before he was ready. Look for the long road to recovery to continue here.

Max Kepler – OF Minnesota Twins

The good news is that he is expected to be fine. The move was precautionary in an effort to prevent additional harm. As it says, he’ll probably miss today’s game for different reasons, and it gives them a chance to rest him up.

Tyler Mahle – SP Minnesota Twins

Absolutely horrible news here. Mahle wound up making only a handful of starts for his new team during his tenure as a Twin. He is approaching free agency too, which makes his status going forward more unknown. During his time here, he was pitching well for Minnesota when he was on the mound, but injuries to his shoulder and now elbow will shelve him for a long time. He will miss the rest of this season and most of next, making him someone to drop in most fantasy formats. As for the Twins themselves, they also have Kenta Maeda shelved with injuries. While Bailey Ober and Louie Varland have filled in admirably, don’t forget about Simeon Woods-Richardson, who has the prospect pedigree to step in.

Jonathan Loaisiga – RP New York Yankees

Thought to be the second-in-command to Clay Holmes, Loaisiga will miss most of the season due to an injured elbow.

Seth Brown – 1B/OF Oakland Athletics

Brown has quietly been on the Injured List for a month now. His rehab assignment begins this weekend and is rumored to be about 25-30 plate appearances long. If all goes well, he could be back within a week or so.

Ramon Laureano – OF Oakland Athletics

Great news here, as Laureano hasn’t played for days. It’s looking like he will avoid the concussion Injured List and play for the A’s this weekend. Consider him DTD, but be ready to put him back in there.

Mason Miller – SP Oakland Athletics

Miller will miss the next little while to see how things play out. The team is likely to take things very slowly in order to ensure that their best prospect doesn’t do further damage to an already questionable elbow. There are rumblings of a second opinion incoming, but until an official statement is made, those are just rumors. For now, consider Miller as someone who will miss at least the rest of May.

Wander Franco – SS Tampa Bay Rays

Franco left the game in the fifth inning with neck pains. After the game, he apparently felt much better following treatment. It’s unclear how he feels today, but chances are a serious injury has been avoided. Consider him DTD for now.

Pete Fairbanks – RP Tampa Bay Rays, Tyler Glasnow – SP Tampa Bay Rays

Great news for both convolved here. Fairbanks is looking close to a return for the Rays. Jason Adam has pitched admirably in his absence. As for Glasnow, it was a big scare the other day. He’s looking to throw again on Tuesday and get back to rehabbing.
