With the ninth pick the Buffalo Bills picked Houston DT Ed Oliver
Oliver has already drawn some gaudy pro comparisons to the likes of Aaron Donald and NFL legends like Warren Sapp and John Randle. He had 14.5 tackles for a loss in eight games in 2018. Oliver gets great penetration and can also push the pocket as a bull rusher. There are concerns about his weight and size, that he needs to add more, but there is also conjecture he could move to an inside linebacker spot.
Fantasy Impact of Ed Oliver
The Bills continued to bleed defensively against the run often last season and finished 16th. No matter where Oliver lines up, he can help bolster what has been a weakness for several seasons. If he bulks up at DT he can get into the opposing backfield often and prevent opponents from consistently gaining bigger chunks of yardage. But how much of an impact he can make in that department as a rookie remains to be seen. Early in the season, you still may want to utilize non-elite RBs against Buffalo, especially in DFS.
