NFL Injury Report – Week 5

Here we are. We have arrived at Week 5, and it’s an important time within the realm of fantasy football. That’s because we have our first wave of bye weeks this week, as four teams won’t be playing. Arizona Cardinals

PK Matt Prater (knee) – QUESTIONABLE for Week 5, though he is “doing pretty good” with “soreness in his knee“.

TE Trey McBride (ribs) – QUESTIONABLE for Week 5, but he is expected to play.

Buffalo Bills

WR Khalil Shakir (ankle) – OUT for Week 5.

Cleveland Browns

TE David Njoku (ankle) – QUESTIONABLE for Week 5, and is feeling good about a return this weekend, though his expected return will likely be in a limited capacity.

Green Bay Packers

TE Luke Musgrave (ankle) – QUESTIONABLE for Week 5, despite not practicing all week long, and even if he does in fact play after testing out his knee pre-game, he will be limited at best.

WR Christian Watson (ankle) – DOUBTFUL for Week 5.

Houston Texans

RB Joe Mixon (ankle) – OUT for Week 5.

RB Dameon Pearce (hamstring) – QUESTIONABLE for Week 5, and is not expected to play.

Indianapolis Colts

QB Anthony Richardson (oblique) – DOUBTFUL for Week 5 after being limited at practice this week.

RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) – OUT for Week 5 after missing practice all week with an ankle sprain he sustained last week.

Jacksonville Jaguars

TE Evan Engram (hamstring) – QUESTIONABLE for Week 5, after being limited this week in practice, is not expected to play.

Kansas City Chiefs

RB Kareem Hunt (shoulder) – QUESTIONABLE for Week 5 after being limited at practice this week.

Las Vegas Raiders

WR Davante Adams (hamstring) – OUT for Week 5 after missing practice all week long.

RB Zamir White (groin) – OUT for Week 5.

TE Michael Mayer (personal) – OUT for Week 5.

Los Angeles Rams

WR Cooper Kupp (ankle) – OUT for Week 5 with the hope being that he can come back after the team’s Week 6 bye.

New Orleans Saints

RB Alvin Kamara (ribs) – QUESTIONABLE for Week 5 after being limited in practice on Friday.

TE Taysom Hill (ribs) – OUT for Week 5.

New York Giants

RB Devin Singeltary (groin) – DOUBTFUL for Week 5.

WR Malik Nabers (concussion) – OUT for Week 5.

Pittsburgh Steelers

QB Russell Wilson (calf) – QUESTIONABLE for Week 5 with him being a limited participant at practice throughout the week.

RB Jaylen Warren (knee) – OUT for Week 5, after missing practice on Friday.

RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) – OUT for Week 5.

San Francisco 49ers

TE George Kittle (ribs) – QUESTIONABLE for Week 5, but he was moving around well on Friday and is expected to play.

Washington Commanders

WR Noah Brown (groin) – OUT for Week 5.

NFL Injured Reserve/PUP

Baltimore Ravens

RB Keaton Mitchell (knee) – placed on Injured Reserved, and he is right on schedule for where he should be.

Carolina Panthers

TE Ian Thomas (calf) – placed on Injured Reserve and will miss at least the first four weeks of the season, and has been ruled OUT for Week 5.

WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) – placed on Injured Reserve after Week 3 and will miss at least four games with an injury that won’t require surgery.

Cleveland Browns

RB Nick Chubb (knee) – placed on Injured Reserve and will miss at least four weeks of the season. He has been ruled OUT for Week 5, but he did do individual workouts and team drills this week.

Dallas Cowboys

WR Brandin Cooks (knee) – placed on Injured Reserve with a knee issue that will cost him at least the next four weeks.

Houston Texans

TE Brevin Jordan (knee) – placed on Injured Reserve and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season.

Kansas City Chiefs

WR Marquise Brown (shoulder) – placed on Injured Reserve with an injury that will take months, not weeks from which to heal.

RB Isaiah Pacheco (fibula) – placed on Injured Reserve and had successful surgery which will cost him six to eight weeks to recover.

WR Rashee Rice (shoulder) – placed on Injured Reserve, though the team is unsure if he will return this season; they will know more about his timeline after he has a procedure done early next week to test the severity of the situation.

Los Angeles Chargers

WR DJ Chark (hip) – placed on Injured Reserve and will miss at least the first four weeks of the season.

Los Angeles Rams

TE Tyler Higbee (knee) – placed on the PUP List and there is concern that he will miss up to seven weeks of the season.

WR Puka Nacua (knee) – placed on Injured Reserve with a knee injury that could cost him more time than the minimum of four weeks.

Miami Dolphins

WR Odell Beckham (undisclosed) – placed on the PUP List after having an offseason procedure, but he is listed as QUESTIONABLE for Week 5 and is expected to return with a modified usage rate.

QB Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) – placed on Injured Reserve with a concussion with no timetable for a return, but he is symptom-free and awaiting the next step.

Minnesota Vikings

TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) – placed on the PUP List, but did return to practice in limited fashion this past week.

New England Patriots

WR Kendrick Bourne (knee) – placed on the PUP List and will be activated to make his debut in Week 5.

New Orleans Saints

RB Kendre Miller (hamstring) – placed on Injured Reserve and will miss at least four weeks of the season, but he is trending toward a return this Monday.

San Francisco 49ers

RB Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles tendinitis) – placed on Injured Reserve and could miss extended time, and there was some encouragement concerning his situation after his first workouts didn’t reveal any flare-ups or setbacks.
