Waiver Wire Report: McMahon Here to Stay

Does it feel like the World Series ended three years ago? It does for me. Maybe it was the stubborn staring contest between teams and free agents that cause a giant dead period in December and January. Or maybe it’s just because I’m a baseball nut and need live baseball to watch 24/7/365. Whatever it is, at least we have MLB regular season baseball back in our lives. The off-season might have been mostly stagnant, but Spring Training sure as heck wasn’t. Before the first pitch of the season was clobbered into the…

NFL Team Needs: NFC South

It seemed like every week the teams from the NFC South were causing a ruckus. It started early with Adrian Peterson barking at head coach Sean Payton for playing time. His exit from the team was the catalyst for Alvin Kamara's emergence and the creation of "Boom and Zoom." The ruckus continued with the Kelvin Benjamin trade while Greg Olsen recovered from a foot injury suffered in Week 2. In his stead, rookie Christian McCaffrey and Devin Funchess began to show up in highlight reels running fake wheel routes. Julio Jones…

Fantasy EPL: Round 31 Review / Round 32 Preview

ROUND 31: FANTASY EPL REVIEW With only four matches in the last round, there isn’t much to review. Mohamed Salah was the star of the show with four goals in Liverpool’s 5-0 thrashing of Watford. He has been simply spectacular and the best player this season (in fantasy too). Two late goals by Stanislas and Ibe turned a loss into a win for Bournemouth versus West Bromwich. The Baggies are well on their way towards relegation. Crystal Palace stopped the bleeding with a 2-0 win in Huddersfield. In the match, Luka Milivojevic…

Cardinals Sign Greg Holland on Opening Day

The Cardinals waited until the last second to sign Greg Holland to a one-year, $14 million deal. While not 100% finalized, Holland will be the Cards' de facto closer once he’s added to the roster. The 32-year-old righty threw about as good as could be expected for a Rockies closer. His 3.61 ERA and an 11.0 K/9 helped him to 41 saves in 2017. Moving out of Colorado should help both his ERA and WHIP, along with his overall fantasy production. He's a must-own at this point. The problem for Holland's owners, or soon-to-be…

Medical Corner: Madison Bumgarner, Jeff Samardzija, Dinelson Lamet, and Greg Bird

Dr. Mike Tanner has treated patients with orthopedic injuries for over 10 years as a board-certified specialist and physical therapist. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D., educating physical therapy students and conducting research. My projected return dates are based on medical protocols, established rehabilitation guidelines, and evidence-based data. Most of the time, I will not agree with the timelines given by teams, beat writers, or others on social media. Madison Bumgarner – 5th Metacarpal Fracture We know the…

Fantasy Baseball: Roto Salary Cap Roster

Well, folks, Opening Day is finally here! Fans all over the globe are optimistic about the upcoming season, and fantasy owners are arguably even more so. Spring Training is over, and the games (and more importantly the stats) finally count! This season, I will be offering some of my thoughts on the Fantrax Salary Cap Challenge Games. Specifically, I will be looking at some player percentages and highlighting some players who could be worth a New Player Claim. Please remember that the 18 claims each team is allowed are to…

7 Late-Round Lottery Tickets with Huge Payouts

If you've ever purchased a scratcher ticket at your local convenience store, you know the odds of hitting on a cheap lottery ticket are pretty slim. But what if I told you the tickets were free and you still could keep the money if you won? Sound like a good deal? That’s kinda how I fell about these seven players. Their ADPs and ownership levels are so low it’s almost like they are FREE. Each of these guys is being taken late in drafts or may be sitting on waivers in your league for one reason or another. They each have…

Prospect Updates and Reasonable Expectations

We are just one day away from having legit “it counts” baseball happening, and I couldn’t be more giddy. I’m getting all of my jerseys ready to put into the shirt rotation, and I’m making last minute add/drops/adjustments to my fantasy teams. Since a lot of my drafts happen insanely early, I have a lot of speculative picks that may not have panned out, and now a lot of answers are pouring in so I can make the right decisions. A lot of these risky picks pertained to impact prospects and whether or not they were going to make…

Fantasy College Football: Top Five New Starting Tight Ends/Kickers

The golden age of fantasy tight ends that we all experienced in the past several seasons with Jaylen Samuels, Adam Breneman, and Mark Andrews has come to an end. Kickers may not be as depleted as other years, but it's important to establish the next men up at the position. Listed below are the top five new tight ends and kickers for the 2018 season. Tight Ends 5. Ross Painter, Arkansas State Arkansas State will have one of best passing offenses in 2018 with the return of Justice Hansen. Blake Mack finished third for the…
