Rangers Sign Mike Minor: Limit Starting Expectations

The Texas Rangers added to their pitching staff by signing Mike Minor after just adding Doug Fister about a week ago. The Rangers are in desperate need of rotation help, and they hope the 29-year-old lefty can fill one of those spots. The plan is suspect, though, because Minor hasn’t started a major league game since 2014 after struggling to come back from shoulder surgery. While Minor may or may not start, he threw lights out as a reliever for the Royals and closed at the end of the season, notching six saves. In 77…

Draft With Giants: The Untold History

If you are a fantasy football diehard, and you actively use a Twitter account to track news about your squad, you have likely heard of a little thing called The Fish Bowl. Essentially, it is a ProAm for Fantasy Football, created by Scott Fish, that has grown to epic proportions. Industry "analysts" and "experts" are pitted against their audience and readers, and go head to head in ruthless fashion. Scoring wrinkles, hidden prizes for drafting secret players, oh and did I mention, it now houses 720 teams. You read that right…

Fantasy Football: Week 13 Recap

What can we take away from Week 13? The playoff picture may be no clearer than it was a week ago, and as far as fantasy is concerned, it really was the week of the running back. Lost among the NFC South/AFC West playoff talk was Tom Brady's unusual 258-yard, zero-touchdown, one-interception performance against the Bills. He totaled only 8.3 PPR points on Sunday, a rare occurrence indeed. Fortunately, if you do own Brady, the following players more than made up for his un-MVP like performance. Here's your Week 13 wrap:…

Weekly Prospect Update: Cincinnati Reds

The Cincinnati Reds finished 68-94 and in the cellar of the NL Central. Despite another MVP-caliber season from Joey Votto, the Reds lacked the talent to gain any real momentum. It's no secret that things have been pretty bad in Cincinnati for the past few seasons. That being said, the next crop of talent waiting in their system may be able to turn things around. 10. Fantasy Basketball Fast Break (Week of 12/4)

Injuries, injuries, and more injuries. Can everyone stop getting injured? That’d be great, thanks. We had several big names suffer injuries over the past week, including one of my personal favorites, Nikola Jokic. The Joker joins frontcourt teammate Paul Millsap on the shelf, which opens more playing time for someone we’ll discuss below. Joining the Denver Nuggets with frontcourt injury concerns are the Atlanta Hawks, who will be without both John Collins and Dewayne Dedmon for the next few weeks. The frontcourt injuries…

2018 First-Year Player Draft Rankings: Part 2 (6-10)

Welcome back for part two of our off-season look at the 2018 rookie drafts for dynasty leagues. It's time to round out the top 10 with a look at some polished pitchers, raw position players, and plenty of talent. Don't forget that your draft will hinge largely on your team's needs, so if you're in dead last and are needing some pure upside, you may rank a guy like Heliot Ramos higher than Hunter Greene, as opposed to if you're planning on competing this year and want a player who has the most proximity to the majors. So good…
