This Week In Fantasy College Football

With the head coach carousel already picking up steam, let's take a look at the last seven days of college football and how it impacts the fantasy college football world. Coach Firings Bret Bielema Fired After Game Against Missouri The Take: Bret Bielema was told as he was leaving the field after last Friday's loss to the surging Missouri Tigers. Considering Gus Malzahn is on his way to the SEC Championship and possibly the College Football Playoff, one can assume he's probably not going to bolt to Arkansas. Names such…

2018 Player Profile: Rhys Hoskins

Rhys Hoskins – Is 200 enough? 9, 17, 38, 47. What does that sound like? 9, 17, 38, 47? A locker combination at the gym? Maybe jersey numbers from retired Yankee greats? Lotto numbers? Nope, those are the yearly home run totals for Rhys Hoskins in his minor and now major league career. Hoskins slugged his way onto the scene late in 2017 by becoming the fastest player in major league history to reach 18 career home runs. While sharing time at first base and outfield, Hoskins slashed an impressive .259/.396/.618 in his…

2018 Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Catcher

Is it ever too early to think about the 2018 fantasy baseball season? It’s already almost December, and before we know it, draft season will be in full swing. Over the next month or so, we’re going to rank every position for the 2018 fantasy baseball season, starting with the catcher position. I know, catcher is usually the most boring position to draft. Most people see the list of available catchers and run like they’re trying to avoid the plague. Outside of the top six to eight options, the position dries up really…

Fantasy Football: Week 12 Recap

Ah, Week 12, the week that was. There were some seriously crooked fantasy scores on the board this week, and if you thought this whole Case Keenum thing was just a facade, don't look now, but he scored a casual 27.3 fantasy points this week. In other news, there were some big breakouts that need to be discussed, and of course, some more brilliance from Le'Veon Bell. The Steelers RB made 183 yards look easy against the Packers, and he was in good company, as a handful of other backs had themselves a monster week, as well.…

Fantasy EPL: Week 13 Review / Week 14 Preview

We have an EPL bonus this week, with games being played on Tuesday and Wednesday. I project Gabriel Jesus, Aaron Ramsey and Sadio Mane to have good fantasy days. But first, let’s take a look at what happened this past weekend. WEEK 13: Fantasy EPL REVIEW Fantasy disappointment was all over, especially for forwards. The teams that should’ve brought the most fantasy points were Manchester United and Tottenham. Well, United barely won against Brighton, and even that was through an own goal. The Spurs didn’t win at all,…

Fantasy Hockey: Six Burning Questions

We're already a quarter of the way through the hockey season, and now's the time to start evaluating whether teams and players can maintain their early-season production. There have been a lot of surprises so far. Brent Burns is in a historic scoring slump, the Vegas Golden Knights might actually be good, 37 players are at a point-per-game pace or more, and the Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens, and Arizona Coyotes aren't playing to their potential. These are all examples of early trends that probably won't last the entire…

Weekly Prospect Update: Milwaukee Brewers

For a team that was supposed to be rebuilding in 2017, the Milwaukee Brewers performed exceptionally well. They fell just short of the playoffs but still have a lot to be happy about after their season. What's even more encouraging is that there is even more talent on its way to Milwaukee. 10. Lucas Erceg, 3B Age: 22 Drafted: 2016, Round 2(46) - MIL 2017 stats: (High-A Carolina): 127 games, .256/.307/.417, 15 HR, 81 RBI, 66 R, 35 BB, 95 K. (Triple-A Colorado Springs): 3 games, .400/.455/.600, 2 RBI, 2 R, 1 BB, 1…

Doug Fister Signs with Rangers

Doug Fister signed a one-year deal with a club option with the Texas Rangers. While he is not considered one of the top free agents this offseason, the 33-year-old displayed improved talent last year to be considered a late-round flier. In 2015 and 2016, Fister struggled to remain productive, as his average fastball velocity dropped to 86 mph. Because of the decline, he posted a sub-6.0 K/9 and got hit around with the highest home run rates (both 1.2 HR/9) since his rookie season. Fister's 2017 outlooked seem grim, but…

Fantasy Basketball Fast Break (Week of 11/27)

As we near the end of the first quarter of the NBA season, it’s safe to say that almost all of the big names to change teams this summer are thriving in their new surroundings. Both Chris Paul and Paul George are dominating for their new teams and are both top-10 players on a per-game basis. Jimmy Butler got off to a slow start in the scoring department for Minnesota, but he has really turned it on over the last two weeks, averaging 19.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. That number should only continue to rise…

2018 Player Profile: Jackie Bradley, Jr.

With the 2017 season now officially in the rearview mirror, and with the Houston Astros first-time champions, we turn our attention to the 2018 fantasy baseball season. Each week, I will be evaluating one player’s stock for next year. This week, we focus on Jackie Bradley Jr., another former All-Star with a somewhat depressed stock potentially on the trade block this offseason. Jackie Bradley, Jr. 2017 statistics: .245/.323/.402, 17 home runs, 8 stolen bases General Overview Jackie Bradley Jr.’s primary calling card is…
