Positions may be blending together in real basketball, but they matter plenty in fantasy basketball! Adam Kings breaks out his power forward rankings for 2019-20.
Unlike small forwards, the power forward position is one that can be filled quite early in drafts. Looking again at my H2H rankings, we see eight players featured inside the top-30 meaning there are plenty of options available. As well as an abundance of high-end talent, there are a number of polarizing players. John Collins, Kristaps Porzingis, Pascal Siakam, Jaren Jackson Jr, and Zion Williamson should all stir up plenty of debate. To round out arguably my favorite position, there should still be options available once the draft picks hit triple-figures. Power forwards typically contribute across multiple categories with the evolution of small-ball lineups. This makes them crucial to the build of your team in any format, playing a major role in your strategy.
Tiers can be important when preparing for your draft, often providing you with a plan B, which is often required. Fantasy Basketball managers are certainly beginning draft preparations earlier each season. The content is improving and becoming more readily available, meaning the quality of leagues is typically increasing. My power forward rankings, as part of the Fantrax fantasy basketball draft guide, should have you ready to roll come October.
