Fantasy Basketball Fast Break (Week of 12/4)

Injuries, injuries, and more injuries. Can everyone stop getting injured? That’d be great, thanks. We had several big names suffer injuries over the past week, including one of my personal favorites, Nikola Jokic. The Joker joins frontcourt teammate Paul Millsap on the shelf, which opens more playing time for someone we’ll discuss below. Joining the Denver Nuggets with frontcourt injury concerns are the Atlanta Hawks, who will be without both John Collins and Dewayne Dedmon for the next few weeks. The frontcourt injuries…

Fantasy Basketball Fast Break (Week of 11/27)

As we near the end of the first quarter of the NBA season, it’s safe to say that almost all of the big names to change teams this summer are thriving in their new surroundings. Both Chris Paul and Paul George are dominating for their new teams and are both top-10 players on a per-game basis. Jimmy Butler got off to a slow start in the scoring department for Minnesota, but he has really turned it on over the last two weeks, averaging 19.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. That number should only continue to rise…

Fantasy Basketball Fast Break (Week of 11/20)

Does anyone else have Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" stuck in their head with all these injuries this season? We can't even go one week without a top-50 player going down for significant time. This week, it was D'Angelo Russell, Mike Conley, and Rudy Gobert that joined the unfortunate club of injured stars. A club that already has already laid claim to Chris Paul, Kawhi Leonard, and Gordon Hayward, just to name a few. Whether they're freak injuries or gradually worsening injuries, these are severely putting a damper on…

Fantasy Basketball Fast Break (Week of 11/13)

Lonzo Ball isn't worth the headache this season Let me hit you with a very interesting factoid right out of the gate. We’re now 10-13 games into the season, and the Cleveland Cavaliers would be a lottery team. You heard me. Cleveland is toiling at 5-7, which is tied for the 6th worst record in the NBA with five other teams, including the Brooklyn Nets. Outside of LeBron James and Kevin Love, no player is playing well enough in fantasy to be worth rostering right now. Not Jae Crowder, or Dwyane Wade, or J.R Smith. In fact,…

Fantasy Basketball Fast Break (Week of 11/6)

In the fantasy basketball world, it's been the Year of the Rookie so far. One Philadelphia rookie is averaging near a triple-double, while the other has looked like garbage and is currently on the shelf with a shoulder injury. In Chicago, Lauri Markannen has been a pleasant surprise, and the same can be said for Kyle Kuzma out in Los Angeles. After the Celtics lost Gordon Hayward on opening night, many expected Boston to take a major step back. Well, rookie Jayson Tatum, along with Jaylen Brown, aren't letting that…
