I had an opportunity to pick up Max Muncy in both Tout Wars and The Great Fantasy Baseball Invitational this weekend and decided to pass. I determined I didn't need to take a flier on his six home runs and five doubles in 99 plate appearances (.277 Iso) or his 14.1 percent walk rate, the latter of which could be useful in Tout Wars, which is an OBP league. I haven't been interested in picking up Matt Boyd at any point over the first five-and-half weeks of this season. His 3.00 ERA and 1.06 WHIP have been sufficiently tidy, but they are temptations I can resist. If not for a laughably low 1.8 runs of support per nine innings, Boyd would certainly have a better record than 1-3 after six starts. Well, folks, here we are. It's the end of the line for my 2018 Dudes and Don'ts, and it's my first foray into calling D&Ds at closer. They're an incredibly volatile bunch, and with so many bullpens still unclear as we roll into the season, one call could be completely wrong within a few days of me writing this.
