Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma: NASCAR DFS Picks

While I have never been to Sonoma, it is on my list of things to do. Cliché as it may be, I want to ride around on tour with a small group of lovely people who enjoy wine, calmly take in the environment, and relax from the hectic pace of regular life.

Never played Fantasy NASCAR? Head on over to Fantrax and give one of our public leagues a go. Leagues are still filling up! There’s no better time than now to give it a try!

NASCAR DFS Picks for The Toyota/Save Mart 350

The Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma will be just slightly different from my imaginary wine tour. Instead of an enthusiastic yet patient tour guide, Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott will lead our race this afternoon in the first row. Larson’s qualifying lap of 92.111 mph beat his Hendrick Motorsports teammate by 0.02 seconds, so the most dynamic road-course duo landed right where they belong.

Rounding out the Top 5 are Chris Buescher, Michael McDowell, and <drum roll> Tyler Reddick. In our preview Wednesday, I listed Reddick as my top driver to fade because he “keeps qualifying in a very high position, compromising his fantasy value.” He is a perfect example of the importance of positional value in NASCAR DFS, and it is tough to see a path for him to make a positive contribution to your lineup this afternoon.

There is, however, plenty of value on the board in Sonoma today and lots of different ways to bring home some cash. Here’s a look at some of the best options on both sites.

FanDuel Values

DriverSalaryQP
Kevin Harvick $7,00023
Ricky Stenhouse $4,80032
Erik Jones $6,50033
Christopher Bell $8,50031
Bubba Wallace $4,20027

DraftKings Values

DriverSalaryQP
Martin Truex $10,00028
Kevin Harvick $8,10023
Christopher Bell $8,90031
Erik Jones $7,50033
Brad Keselowski $6,60022

Martin Truex Jr. is the best value on the DraftKings board because of his talent on road courses and super low starting position of 28. Kevin Harvick, Christopher Bell, and Erik Jones both come in as Top-5 values on both sites. Both Harvick and Bell saw their salaries drop $1,000 from last week, putting them squarely in the middle-of-the-pack territory and versatile lineup builders for Sonoma’s race.

For the third week in a row, I’ll be hosting a free NASCAR DFS contest on FanDuel. For those of you who would like to give this crazy game a risk-free try, I encourage you to join and invite others to as well. Thanks again to everyone who already has! I’m also hoping to run a smaller contest with a $1 entry fee next week.

Until then, enjoy the blitzing fast NASCAR tour through Sonoma wine country. Here are two lineups I’ll be entering in GPP contests today. Feel free to hit me up on Twitter @thewonkypenguin for anything in the meantime. Happy Race Day!
