Week 10 Fantasy Football Stock Watch

Stock Up:

Javonte Williams

Javonte Williams season appears to be upon us. Now, that is not to say that Melvin Gordon III is just going to go away, because he has also played quite well up to this point. But Javonte Williams is the future of the Denver Broncos backfield, and boy does he look special. The thing is, he has good pass-catching ability, which gives him all the makings of a three-down back. In Week 9, Melvin Gordon got 21 carries to Williams’ 17, but Williams averaged 6.5 yards per carry to Gordon’s 3.8. While Williams is not seeing the volume of work in the passing game to take him to the next level, I fully expect him to have a rock-solid floor, paired with a very high ceiling the rest of the way.

Donovan Peoples-Jones

DPJ is a tough case because he truly does not see a ton of volume as far as targets go. But with Odell Beckham Jr. gone, it leaves Jarvis Landry and DPJ to handle the bulk of the work. DPJ has the most ‘big play’ potential of the remaining Browns WRs and with Beckham Jr. gone, he may even see more targets. DPJ is nothing more than a boom or bust WR3/WR4 up to this point, but there is some real potential here.

Elijah Moore

The Jets rookie WR is breaking out, and it is happening right before our eyes. The talent has been there for Moore, and many fantasy experts predicted Moore to be one of the most productive rookie wideouts earlier on in the season. He has seen at least six targets over his last three games and scored two touchdowns in Week 9. He seems to have surpassed Corey Davis as the guy to roster in this Jets receiving group. While there will likely be some growing pains along the way, Moore does possess some serious upside.

Pat Freiermuth

Pat Freiermuth had a monster career at Notre Dame, and because of the fact that Eric Ebron was already rostered on the Steelers so the expectations weren’t all that high for Freiermuth, at least not in his rookie campaign. However, Ebron has spent a bit of time dealing with injuries, and Freiermuth has ran away with the job. He has scored three touchdowns over the past two games, along with 20 targets over the past three contests. This is a great floor for a TE, and he is a safe start from this point on with a solid touchdown ceiling in this offense.

Stock Down

Khalil Herbert

Khalil Herbert looked great in his debut as the Bears’ starting running back. He only got this role due to the injuries of course, but nevertheless, he was very productive. Now with David Montgomery back, he falls back into a backup role. Herbert remains a great handcuff option, but unless he is getting the carries, he is not someone that you should feel good about starting.

Courtland Sutton

With the return of Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton is no longer getting 10+ targets a game, in fact, he has seen no more than five targets in any of his last three contests. There was a sell-high window right before Jeudy returned which is now closed, and starting Sutton on any given week is becoming tough. He is very talented, and he will likely still have some big games, but there are going to be some lackluster performances along the way. In other words, while he is still a fine option, that consistency we saw in his floor is no longer there.

Kadarius Toney

Many fantasy analysts were really quick to jump on the Kadarius Toney hype train when he came onto the scene with a depleted Giants receiving group and put up a huge game against Dallas totaling 189 yards on 10 receptions. But since then, this Giants WR room has gotten healthier, and the results just have not been there for Toney. He is no more than a boom or bust WR3/WR4 at this point.
