Week 10 NFL DFS: Money Makers and Heart Breakers

Welcome to Week 10 of Money Makers and Heart Breakers for the 2024 NFL season! Every week I break down the main slate to tell you who is going to get you some money and who is going to break your heart.

We had the presidential elections this week in the United States, some people are little on edge that do not like the results. If you are feeling slightly bummed out about how that went, I promise you reading this week’s article will pick you up a little. You might even smile.

Here is a brief definition of each of my terms for anyone that might be new:

💰 Money Maker – This player will perform better than expectations

💔 Heart Breaker – This player will perform lower than expectations

Week 10 Money Makers💰

Quarterbacks

Brock Purdy

The Niners play the Buccaneers in Week 10. The Buccaneers give up the most fantasy points to opposing teams quarterbacks. This game has the highest over under on the main slate of 51. You might be hesitant because Brandin Aiyuk is out and Deebo Samuel could miss the game. Don’t be. Purdy has three straight games of over 200 yards and multiple touchdowns. Tampa Bay gives up 273 yards and 2 touchdowns a game to quarterbacks. That one sure does have a Purdy mouth… I mean match up.

Sam Darnold

Darnold has passed for multiple touchdowns in six out of eight games this season. He has been very consistent with this. In Week 10 he gets to play against a Jaguars defense that gives up the second most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Six different quarterbacks have passed for multiple touchdowns against the Jaguars this season. They have given up 19 passing touchdowns this season.

I like touchdowns and Sam.

I do like them, Sam-I-am.

I like them in Week 10, I like them with a friend.

I like touchdowns in a dome. I like touchdowns when I am home.

I like touchdowns here and there,

I like touchdowns everywhere.

Jalen Hurts

The Cowboys and Eagles play in Week 10. The Cowboys give up the fourth most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Jalen Hurts lays for the Eagles. Hence Jalen Hurts has an excellent match-up. Since his Week 5 Bye Hurst has 12 total touchdowns. TWELVE! He is averaging three a game. He has passed for six and run six in. No need for a Dr Suess rhyme here. Just watch the fantasy points pile up, that is fun too.

Running Backs

Jonathan Taylor

Taylor was just ok in Week 9. It was a pretty tough matchup. In Week 10 he gets the Bills. Running backs average 99 yards rushing, 7 receptions and 58 yards receiving and 1 touchdown per week against the Bills. Taylor is going to have a nice game in Week 10.

Saquon Barkley

The Eagles are playing the Cowboys in Week 10. The Cowboys give up the third most points to opposing teams running backs. Barkley has over 100 yards rushing in each of the last three games. He is averaging 24 total touches and 148 yards rushing per game over this span. The matchup is right, the volume is high, and Barkley is going to jump backward over people to get you fantasy points. Wait, he already did that didn’t he?

$8,300 on DraftKings
$9,600 on FanDuel

Najee Harris

The Commanders give up the fifth most rushing yards per game. That is 115 yards and a touchdown per week rushing to running backs. The Steelers play the Commanders in Week 10. Najee has rushed for over 100 yards in three straight games, he’s coming off the bye week, and facing a defense that you can run on, Najee is a Harris you can count on in Washington in Week 10.

Wide Receivers

Brian Thomas Jr.

Thomas has a 28.8% target share of Jaguars passes this season. He leads the Jaguars in receptions, yards, and receiving touchdowns this season as well. In Week 10 the Jaguars play the Vikings. The Vikings give up the second most fantasy points to wide receivers. The Jaguars will have to pass to keep up. Don’t be a doubting Thomas.

$6,600 on DraftKings
$7,300 on FanDuel

Deebo Samuel

Deebo may miss this game and that will ruin my article. The matchup is nice as the Buccaneers give up the seventh most fantasy points to wide receivers. The targets will be there for Deebo. The game is looking like a shoot-out with the 51-point over-under. Deebo will catch the ball and Deebo will run the ball. Deebo is going to bully his way into the end zone.

$6,900 on DraftKings
$8,300 on FanDuel

Justin Jefferson

If you wanted to stack someone with Sam Darnold who is better than Justin Jefferson. Jefferson has double digit fantasy points in every single game played this season. He consistently has over 100 yards and/or a touchdown every single game. Need more? Jefferson has a 30.6% target share this season. Double J has 48 receptions, 783 yards, and 5 touchdowns in 2024. Finally, the Jaguars are up and they just can not defend wide receivers. Remember that’s J-E-Double F-E-R-SON!

Kalil Shakir

$6,000 on DraftKings
$6,200 on FanDuel

Darnell Mooney

$6,500 on DraftKings
$7,500 on FanDuel

NOTE: I am playing these lower-priced guys all over the place I have listed above. Shakir, Mooney and Wilson should all produce in Week 10. Pair some up with some high-priced running backs or one of the higher-priced wide receivers above.

Tight Ends

Taysom Hill

Hill came back from his injury the same week as Derek Carr. His stat line for Week 9 was 5 targets, 4 receptions, 41 yards receiving and 5 carries for 19 yards and a touchdown rushing. Taysom performed as the secondary option to Alvin Kamara in the running game and was active in the passing game as well. With some players looking to be out you can expect the Mormon Missile to produce good numbers in Week 10.

$4,000 on DraftKings
$6,300 on FanDuel

George Kittle

The Niners’ wide receivers have been dinged up all season. Kittle has not been. That has made Kittle the number-one tight end in fantasy this season. This gets even better if you are willing to pay up at tight end. The Niners play the Jaguars and the Jaguars give up the third most fantasy points to tight ends. Kittle has six straight games with 12 or more fantasy points. Boom Shaka Laka, Kittle is the Chief Rocka!

DEF

Chargers

The Chargers play the Titans in Week 10. The Titans give up the most fantasy points to opposing defenses. That is nice. Over the past two games the Chargers have not allowed more than 10 points scoring to the opposing teams. They also have 11 sacks in those two games. I am all charged up for this defense in Week 10.

$3,800 on DraftKings
$4,800 on FanDuel

Eagles

Dak Prescott is out for the Cowboys. CeeDee Lamb is dinged up. The Cowboys are the Eagles opponent for Week 10. It appears the Eagles defense which is pretty good in real life became a really good option in DFS this week. If you are willing to pay up for a defense in Week 10 this is the one.

$3,500 on DraftKings
$5,100 on FanDuel

Bears

The Bears play the Patriots in Week 10. The Patriots give up the fifth most fantasy points to fantasy defenses. The Titans defense scored 11 fantasy points in Week 9 against this Patriots team. Teams average 3.4 sacks per game against the Patriots, I expect the Bears to get three or four.

$3,000 on DraftKings
$5,000 on FanDuel

NOTE: The Jets are a defense I like against the Patriots as well.

💔Heart Breakers

Quarterbacks

Drake Maye

The Bears give up the least amount of fantasy points to quarterbacks. Only three quarterbacks have hit double-digit fantasy points against the Bears defense this season. Maye has been below 20 fantasy points in each of the last two games. This is the toughest defense he has faced.

Jayden Daniels

The Commanders play the Steelers in Week 10. The Steelers are the third toughest defense against the pass this season. Not a single quarterback this season has scored more than 18 fantasy points against the Steelers. Only two quarterbacks have passed for multiple touchdowns. This is the toughest matchup Daniels has had. I am playing him in season-long. Just not in DFS.

Kyler Murray

The Jets are the fourth toughest defense on quarterbacks in fantasy. So the matchup is tough. Murray has been meh most of the season. The Cardinals are in first place in the NFC West. I think we can expect more of the same here. Meh, as a fantasy option.

Running Backs

Javonte Williams

If you have been paying attention all season you are not playing Javonte anyway. He has been a very unexciting option at running back all season, with sporadic high games. This week the Broncos play the Chiefs. The Chiefs give up the least amount of fantasy points to running backs. Sometimes you don’t even have to write up a bad play. But I did anyway.

Rico Dowdle

Uncle Rico has not been so great for fantasy. In Week 10 he plays an Eagles defense that is third toughest on running backs. With Dak Prescott out you might think Rico will get more touches. Doesn’t matter. Stay away.

Tank Bigsby

The Jaguars are going to have to pass to stay in the game against the Vikings in Week 10. This means Bigsby will most likely be game-scripted out this week. To top this off the Vikings give up the fifth-fewest fantasy points to running backs. Sorry Bigsby.

Wide Receivers

Marvin Harrison Jr.

Have you been on the roller coaster ride that is Marvin Harrison’s fantasy production? I hope not. You may feel like you have to play him in season-long, but in DFS please avoid him in Week 10. The Jets defense is the second toughest against wide receivers. If you were thinking it would be cute to stack Harrison with Murray, stack them on your bench this week. That will be cute.

Quentin Johnston

Johnston broke out in Week 9. QJ had 118 yards and a touchdown last week. That was last week. This week the Chargers play the Titans. The Titans give up the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. The wide receivers that have had success against the Titans have been slot guys.  That is Ladd McConkey. McConkey is in and QJ is out for Week 10.

Joshua Downs

The Colts play the Bills in Week 10. The Bills are a top-five defense against wide receivers. Overall I love Downs. I like Downs even more now with Joe Flacco at quarterback for the Colts. For Week 10 move Joshua down to your bench.

Tight Ends

Jake Ferguson

The Cowboys play the Eagles in Week 10. The Eagles give up the fourth fewest amount of fantasy points to tight ends. Dak Prescott is going to be out. I’ll avoid Ferguson in DFS easily with all this information this week.

Trey McBride

The Jets give up the fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Can you tell I am not playing any pass-catching Cardinals this week? It is easy to see isn’t it? Well, I didn’t write about him but James Conner is actually a good play this week. When you cannot pass the football you run the football.
