Week 13 NFL DFS Picks for DraftKings

I hope that everyone continues to be profitable playing NFL DFS even if the math says that’s impossible. Regardless, last week is in the past and we have a new week of action in front of us. I intend to help you make Week 13 of NFL DFS a week to remember as you finish in the green. With that being said, let us jump right into my top Week 13 DFS picks.

Each week, I will take a look at one option at each position that can be a nice piece in your lineup. Additionally, I will provide one stud and one value option to target along with one expected bust.

NFL Week 13 DFS Picks

Quarterback

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers, $6,100

The Philadelphia Eagles tend to play a lot of high-scoring games, and it generally isn’t an issue for their offense to outscore other teams. It does provide an interesting situation for the opposition though. They are allowing opposing quarterbacks to generate the second-most DK points against them this season.

Brock Purdy is in a great spot to take advantage of that this week. With 19 touchdown passes this season against just six interceptions, he generally doesn’t make too many mistakes. Purdy takes what the game gives him and he has the weapons to truly make things happen. This will be a tight game, so the 49ers will have to rely on Purdy in the passing game which does help. And with no shortage of weapons, Purdy can take advantage of anything the defense gives him.

Running Back

Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons, $6,700

He is who we thought he was. Well, at least for two games that is as Arthur Smith finally remembered why Bijan Robinson was drafted eighth overall. A week after carrying the ball 22 times for 95 yards and a touchdown, the rookie had an even better performance last week. Robinson picked up 91 yards on 16 carries, with his longest run being 17 yards, while also finding the end zone. Additionally, Robinson caught a touchdown pass to go along with three receptions for 32 yards.

Statistically, the New York Jets are allowing the fifth most DK points to opposing running backs, and game flow is a lot of the reason why. The Jets are a theme that should be targeted at this point in the season. What we have seen lately from Robinson is just the tip of what he is capable of, so enjoy the lower price.

Wide Receiver

Michael Pittman, Indianapolis Colts, $7,100

Michael Pittman needs to find the end zone. While Pittman is in the midst of a strong season, we do need him to score more than three touchdowns to truly make his mark. The good news is that he faces a Tennessee Titans team allowing the fifth most DK points to opposing receivers this week.

Chemistry with Gardner Minshew hasn’t appeared to be a problem for Pittman as he generally gets all of the work he can handle. Last week, that meant 10 catches on 13 targets for 107 yards. It was the second time in four games he was targeted 13 times. Over that stretch, Pittman hasn’t caught less than eight balls or been targeted less than eight times in a game. Both the quantity and the efficiency stand out here.

Tight End

Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints, $3,400

Sometimes, showing up is half the battle. With injuries to Michael Thomas and Rashid Shaheed, Juwan Johnson finished second in targets last week for the Saints with seven. He finished behind only Chris Olave who had nine but was also dealing with a concussion. Olave did practice on a limited basis Thursday, but based on the Injury Report, Johnson figures to receive a lot of work once again on Sunday.

Last week, Johnson turned that into four receptions for 45 yards. Previously in similar situations last season, we have seen Johnson quickly gain fantasy relevance, and that is expected to be the case again this week.

Defense

Atlanta Falcons, $3,400

Even if the New York Jets somehow manage to win this week’s game, it’s not going to be because of their offense. Instead, their offense has gotten to the point where it is truly offensive.

The Jets simply cannot move the ball, and to expect them to score more than 10 points would truly be a lot. They cannot move the ball and are scoring just 14.8 points per game this season so the risk is minimal, at best here. Between a patchwork offensive line and Tim Boyle at quarterback, it is also hard not to like the chances for a few sacks and at least one turnover.

DFS Stud

Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins, $9,600

With a limited practice on Thursday, it doesn’t appear that the ankle is going to be a problem for Tyreek Hill this week. To this point, it certainly hasn’t been as Hill is having an insane year; to put it mildly. While the pace has slowed, Hill previously was in line for a historical season.

Currently, the receiver sits at 88 receptions for 1,324 yards on the year. That is good for an average of 120 yards per game, and that also comes with 10 touchdowns. This week, Hill is in prime position to build on that with a great matchup against the Washington Commanders. It is going to cost you, but this projects to be a week in which you get what you pay for.

DFS Value

Rhamondre Stevenson, New England Patriots, $6,000

Thanks to there being six teams on bye this week, filling out a lineup becomes a little more difficult. With that being said, we need to lock down volume for our salary cap dollars. Rhamondre
Stevenson has been quite busy over the last two weeks. The New England running back has 20 and 21 carries in the last two weeks gaining 88 and 98 yards, respectively.

Additionally, Stevenson has been busy in the passing game with five targets in each of the last two weeks. This week, Stevenson gets one of the better matchups for running backs as he faces the Los Angeles Chargers. From a yardage perspective, the Chargers are in the middle of the pack at 111 yards allowed per game, but they are in the top 10 of points for opposing running backs on DraftKings.

DFS Bust

Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers, $9,000

This is shaping up to be a week where balance matters and we can’t have dead spots in our lineup. That also means we also need to be very sure of each dollar spent.

The case for Christian McCaffrey writes itself each week, but this is going to be the exception. In facing the Philadelphia Eagles, McCaffrey is going up against a defense allowing the least amount of DraftKings points to opposing running backs this season. The Eagles are also allowing the third-fewest rushing yards per game at just 85. While the Eagles struggle to defend the passing game and McCaffrey should find some value there, he is simply too expensive given the challenges he will face on the ground.
