Week 14 Flex Rankings for Fantasy Football

It is Week 14 of the NFL season, which marks the conclusion of the fantasy football regular season in most leagues. As was the case two weeks ago, six teams have a bye this week. I am not sure exactly why the NFL would lean so heavily into fantasy football and then have nearly 20 percent of its teams not play on arguably the most important week of the fantasy year. But I am just a mere simpleton, so what do I know? I’m sure it had something to do with Thanksgiving falling later than usual this year. Anywho, here are a few items to keep in mind as I unveil my initial Week 14 Flex rankings.

The biggest news to come out of last week’s games from a fantasy perspective was another lower-body injury for Christian McCaffrey. San Francisco placed the star running back on Injured Reserve due to a knee injury. Unlike earlier in the season, however, Jordan Mason will not be the primary beneficiary. Mason was also placed on IR after suffering an injury on Sunday night. Isaac Guerendo appears to be the last man standing in the 49ers backfield. The rookie fourth-round pick only has 42 NFL carries under his belt. But Mason only had 83 in two seasons before being trusted as the team’s top back during McCaffrey’s initial absence. Guerendo is not only a Waiver Wire priority but an ideal fill-in for fantasy managers who are feeling the bye-week crunch at the running back position. I have him as a borderline RB1 this week.

This week’s byes are also affecting the pass-catcher positions. Six of the top 21 wide receivers in year-to-date fantasy production are off in Week 14. The same goes for three of this year’s top 10 tight ends. Of course, these positions are not immune to their share of injury issues as well. Chargers rookie wideout Ladd McConkey suffered a knee injury last week. His status for this week’s divisional matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs is up in the air. Further complicating matters is that this game is the Sunday night game. I ranked him as if he is playing, but fantasy managers should make contingency plans. Saints tight end Taysom Hill tore his ACL on Sunday and will miss the remainder of the season. Hill was 12th in total scoring among tight ends but fourth in terms of fantasy points per game.

Below are my Week 14 Flex rankings. These are based on Half-PPR scoring, so you may need to adjust based on your league specifications. They are also subject to change as situations develop throughout the week. Make sure you are keeping up with the latest news from around the league. As always, feel free to comment below or hit me up on Twitter with any questions surrounding your lineup decisions. May the fantasy fortunes be in your favor this week, and I’ll see you next week in the playoffs!
