Sure, there are obvious IR candidates that happened this past weekend, but this article isn’t about the obvious players that should be dropped from your roster. This is about the players that you’re still holding out hope for, but you need one little nudge to make the move. It’s almost playoff time. There’s no more room for hope. Let’s lock in. It’s playoff time.
We know tendencies, we know snap counts, but most of all, we know who we were right about and who we were wrong about. At the end of the day, you can only roster so many players, so it’s time to discuss three players you can drop at this point in the season. We know winning your leagues takes a lot of work. But don’t fear! FantraxHQ is doing the work for you. Whether it’s matchups to exploit, injury replacements, or flat-out hot takes, we’ve got your fix. In this article, we’ll highlight three potential players you can drop from your roster to give way to new talent.
Week 15 Players You Can Drop
Tank Bigsby, Jacksonville Jaguars
Last week, I advertised that you should drop Travis Etienne. This week, he was outperformed by Tank Bigsby, and given more carries (18 to 5). The reason that I’m in favor of dropping Bigsby now, is that with those 18 carries, Bigsby only managed 55 yards. Terrible efficiency for a Jaguars team that is trying to figure out who and how to move forward to 2025. As a result of this poor efficiency, I imagine the Jags will give more of an equal timeshare going forward, making neither of the running backs valuable to anyone. He’s currently rostered around 40% of leagues, and if you want to win your fantasy playoff matchups, I suggest you use his roster spot for someone else that can affect your team.
Here are Tank Bigsby’s snap counts over the season:
- Week 1: 23
- Week 2: 5
- Week 3: 10
- Week 4: 22
- Week 5: 27
- Week 6: 25
- Week 7: 40
- Week 8: 38
- Week 9: 37
- Week 10: 12
- Week 11: Out
- Week 12: Out
- Week 13: 32
- Week 14: 34
Believe it or not, due to injuries, there are still starting running backs on the waiver wire. That’s who should be your focus.
Matthew Wright, Kansas City Chiefs
Last week I chose to drop Justin Tucker for my lineups, in order to “not worry” about my kicking position on my roster. As a result, I selected the Saints kicker (who I will not even name), as he collected a grand total of ZERO points, after two missed kicks. I will continue my kicker hate spree and suggest you drop the Chiefs’ Matthew Wright. He’s only 20% rostered, but he’s had back-to-back double-digit fantasy point weeks, on a team that has no trouble moving the ball into field goal range. The reason he’s droppable is because it looks like Harrison Butker is on his way back from the IR, and will be kicking again in Week 15. There wasn’t really any kicker that could’ve kicked their way into a job in KC. This job was always about auditioning your services for the rest of the league, as Butker is the kicker of the future for the Chiefs. Game winners be damned, Matthew Wright’s fantasy relevance is no more.
Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
At this point, I’m out. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me every week, for multiple seasons, shame on me. He’s basically out there for cardio because blocking was never his specialty. He was drafted out of Florida as a speedy tight end, with a WR build. With Kirk Cousins being brought into the fold, I was sure this would result in consistent targets and several big games. I was incredibly wrong. Pitts hasn’t exceeded four targets but twice this year. In his last five games, he has seven total targets. And one of those games, he had four targets. It’s just been a disaster. At this point, I’d place the blame on Pitts. There’s got to be something that he’s doing wrong from a route-running perspective that has both QBs and coaches ignoring the opportunity to get him the ball. It’s never too late to do the right thing. The right move is to drop Kyle Pitts from fantasy rosters.
Check out Pitts’ snap counts this season:
- Week 1: 54
- Week 2: 45
- Week 3: 42
- Week 4: 38
- Week 5: 74
- Week 6: 45

- Week 9: 32
