Week 15 marks the start of the fantasy football playoffs. Congratulations to those of you who successfully navigated your way to the postseason! Work’s still needed to get to the championship game, and the Week 15 tight end rankings have you covered. We’ll highlight tight ends who can bolster your playoff lineups and put you in the best position to move to the next round. With that in mind, let’s move to the rankings, and good luck in Week 15!
Injury Notes for Week 15
- Dalton Kincaid missed the previous three weeks with a knee injury and is considered questionable for Week 15.
- After Dallas Goedert landed on the IR last week, Grant Calcaterra is the starting tight end for the Eagles. He’s a solid TE2 moving forward.
- Will Dissly will miss a couple of weeks with a shoulder injury. Stone Smartt will operate as the Chargers’ primary tight end in the interim. Smartt has a favorable matchup against Tampa Bay this week and is a nice Week 15 streamer.
Tight End Notes
- David Njoku is having a fantastic season. He leads the Browns in target share this year (21%), while his 10.6 fantasy points per game is fourth-best at the position in half-PPR formats. However, Njoku has come on especially strong just in time for the playoffs. In his last two games, he’s amassed 30 targets, good for a combined 94 yards and three touchdowns. He’s also sporting a whopping 31% target share in that span. The looks should keep coming this week. Njoku faces a Chiefs defense that has allowed the most receptions and receiving yards to tight ends. They’ve also ceded the second-most fantasy points to the position (13.2). Njoku is primed for a big week and ranks as TE4 in the Week 15 tight end rankings.
- T.J. Hockenson should make some noise this week. He gets a tasty matchup against a Bears defense that has given up the sixth-most receiving yards and ninth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends on the year. Further, Hockenson had his best game of the season against the unit in Week 12, catching 7-of-9 targets for 114 yards. Chicago has been particularly shaky in recent weeks. Outside of Hockenson’s big game, George Kittle racked up 151 yards against them last week, and Sam LaPorta scored twice in Week 13. Fire up Hockenson this week as he ranks as TE6 in the Week 15 tight end rankings.
- Jake Ferguson returned last week after missing two games with a concussion. It was good to see he picked up where he left off, catching 3-of-6 targets for 32 yards. The yardage is underwhelming, but his 21% target share is not. Excluding Week 11 — when Ferguson was knocked out early with a concussion — he’s seen at least five targets in all but one game this season. While Ferguson has yet to find the end zone this year, that could change this week against the Panthers. Carolina bleeds touchdowns to tight ends. They’ve ceded the most scores to the position this season and have coughed up eight touchdowns in their last seven games. Ferguson gets volume, and I like his odds of finding paydirt this week. He’s a top-tier TE2 with TE1-upside in the Week 15 tight end rankings.
- Daniel Bellinger could be worth taking a shot on in deeper leagues this week. With Theo Johnson on the IR, Bellinger garnered seven targets in Week 14, catching five for 45 yards. Up next is a favorable matchup against the Ravens. Baltimore has surrendered the fifth-most receiving yards and 10th-most fantasy points to tight ends this season. The Giants’ offense is a mess, but the game script will likely require Drew Lock to throw early and often. Bellinger could benefit as Lock’s safety blanket this week. Bellinger is a back-end TE2 in the Week 15 tight end rankings.
