Week 17 marks the championships for most fantasy football leagues. If you’ve made it to the title game, congratulations! You know the drill at this point: The Week 17 quarterback rankings identify signal-callers with exploitable matchups. To find out which quarterbacks can give your lineups an added edge and help you take home the title, let’s turn to the Week 17 quarterback rankings and notes. Good luck this week!
Injury Notes for Week 17
- Jalen Hurts is in the league’s concussion protocol and is questionable for Week 17. Kenny Pickett will suit up if Hurts is a no-go.
- Aaron Rodgers suffered a knee injury in Week 16 but is expected to play this week, barring a setback. If he misses time, Tyrod Taylor will be under center for the Jets’ game against the Bills.
Quarterback Notes
- Baker Mayfield has been killing it lately. He’s averaged 23.1 fantasy points per game in the past three weeks. He’s also thrown for 285+ yards per game and racked up nine passing touchdowns in that span. Mayfield should continue rolling against the Panthers in Week 17. Carolina has ceded 28 passing touchdowns to quarterbacks this season, tied for most this year. They’ve also ceded the fourth-most fantasy points per game to the position (21.2). The Buccaneers are fighting for a division title and a trip to the postseason. Expect another strong week from Mayfield at home in this week’s divisional clash. Mayfield is QB6 in the Week 17 quarterback rankings.
- The Packers have been leaning on their run game lately, negatively impacting Jordan Love‘s fantasy numbers. However, that should change in Week 17, as Minnesota is one of the more porous defenses against the pass. They’ve allowed the third-most passing yards to the position this season, with quarterbacks averaging 290.7 yards per game over the last six weeks. Love had no problem taking care of business against the Vikings in Week 2, throwing for 389 yards and four touchdowns. Sunday night’s clash should be a barn burner, and Love should benefit again. Start Love with confidence this week as he’s QB10 in the Week 17 quarterback rankings.
- Bo Nix is fresh off a solid fantasy performance, completing 29-of-40 passes for 263 yards and two touchdowns. Overall, Nix has been airing it out more recently. He’s averaging 253.4 passing yards and 2.4 passing touchdowns per game over his last five games, compared to 196.8 yards and one touchdown in his first 10 games. That should bode well this week in a favorable matchup against the Bengals. Cincinnati has allowed the eighth-most passing yards this season, and the 26 passing touchdowns they’ve given up is tied for the third-most. Cincinnati has also been shaky on the ground, ceding the most rushing yards to the position this year — an area Nix can exploit. Nix should have another productive week and is a back-end QB1 in the Week 17 quarterback rankings.
- Bryce Young delivered for fantasy managers last week. He finished as the QB2 in fantasy, throwing for 158 yards and two scores. He also tacked on 68 ground yards and a rushing touchdown — his third in four weeks. Look for Young to have another productive week against the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay is giving up 21.4 fantasy points per game to the position and has been vulnerable in the air and on the ground. They’ve surrendered the fourth-most passing yards and third-most rushing touchdowns to quarterbacks this season. Young should be able to take advantage, especially with his ground game. Young is a mid-tier QB2 with upside in the Week 17 quarterback rankings.
