Welcome back to another week of daily fantasy sports (DFS) picks for the week. This week I have my top picks and value picks for Week 2 of DFS. Last week I hit on Kyler Murry as my value pick, and he ended up with 34 fantasy points. This week it will be Dak Prescott, who is way undervalued for his matchup this week.
Let’s get into my top picks and value picks for Week 2 of DFS. Again, I will list the values from DraftKings and FanDuel. DraftKings has a salary base of $50,000, and FanDuel has a base of $60,000.
What?! Your league isn’t hosted on Fantrax? Inconceivable! Look at the incredible features Fantrax offers and then compare it to the competition. It’s pretty obvious that Fantrax is the right choice.
Week 2 DFS Picks
Quarterbacks
Top Pick: Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks (7,500 DK, 8,500 FD)
I have Russell Wilson as my top pick of the week for his salary value, and he will be at home against the Tennessee Titans. The Titans have one of the weakest secondaries in the league, and we all saw that last week when DeAndre Hopkins dropped two touchdowns for 83 yards. Of course, you could argue that Patrick Mahomes should be the top pick of the week, but he is almost $1,000 more than Wilson in DraftKings, but only $100 in FanDuel. Those savings will go a long way when picking the rest of your roster. I see DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett touching the Titans this week.
Value Pick: Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (6,800 DK, 8,000 FD)
For some reason, DraftKings and FanDuel are not putting respect on Dak Prescott’s game. I have Prescott as my biggest sleeper for Week 2 of DFS. Last week Prescott threw three touchdowns and 403 yards against a tough Tampa Bay defense. This week Prescott will go against the Chargers, who also have a good defense, but I think their defensive rating is a little high. The Chargers took out Ryan Fitzpatrick in the first quarter leaving it up to Taylor Heinicke. The Chargers defense will have it in for them going against Prescott and two top receivers in Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb. I can see Prescott finishing as the top quarterback in DFS for Week 2.
Other Value Picks: Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles ($6,500 DK, $7,800 FD) and Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams ($6,400 DK, $7,500 FD)
Running Backs
Top Pick: Dalvin Cook, Minnesota Vikings (9,100 DK, 9,200 FD)
This is a given every week, but out of the top running backs in Christian McCaffrey, Alvin Kamara, and Derrick Henry, I like Davlin Cook’s matchup the best. Henry is going against a bad run defense in the Seahawks. But, after last week’s performance, I think the Titans offense is struggling with the departure of Arthur Smith as their former offensive coordinator. Cook is playing the Cardinals, but I still love his upside for Week 2 of DFS. Expect Kirk Cousins to check to ball down a lot to Cook when the pressure gets to him.
Value: Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers (6,300 DK, 6,100 FD)
The salary for Najee Harris dropped $400 in FanDuel but stayed the same in DraftKings. Harris did have a terrible week against the Buffalo Bills, but this week he will be going against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Steelers will be at home and I see this as the breakout game for the workhorse running back. For the salary he is at this week, Harris is a top sleeper for Week 2 of DFS.
Other Value Picks: Antonio Gibson, Washington Football Team ($6,300 DK, $6,600 FD) and Aaron Jones, Greenbay Packers ($6,800 DK, $7,000 FD)

Wide Receivers
Top Pick: Davante Adams (8,300 DK, 8,300 FD)
This was a tough one as I was back and forth between Davante Adams or DeAndre Hopkins being the top receiver for Week 2 of DFS. I have a good feeling the Packers are going to come out shooting after last week’s nightmare of a performance. The Lions do not have a great defense and I have a feeling Aaron Rodgers is going to bomb the ball to Adams all game. Adams should finish as the top receiver for DFS this week.
Value: Cooper Kupp (6,000 DK, FD 6,200 FD)
No idea why Cooper Kupp is so cheap this week after his performance on Sunday Night Football. Mike Evans has a higher salary than Kupp this week and the Rams are playing the Indianapolis Colts. Russell Wilson threw four touchdowns against the Colts, and I see Matthew Stafford throwing all over the Colts. Kupp is in for a huge game and is one of the most valuable players in DFS this week.
Other Value Picks: Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos ($5,200 DK, $6,200 FD) and Antonio Brown, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($6,000 DK, $6,400 FD)
Tight Ends
Top Pick: Travis Kelce (8,500 DK, 8,500 FD)
Not much to say right here, but I love the matchup Travis Kelce has this week against the Baltimore Ravens. Last week Darren Waller tore up the Ravens defense for 105 yards, one touchdown, and 10 receptions. Kelce should put up the same numbers and will be the top tight end for Week 2 of DFS.
Value: Rob Gronkowski, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4,700 DK, 5,800 FD)
I don’t think last week was a fluke for Rob Gronkowski, as we saw him come on late last season and in the playoffs. Gronkowski just needed some time to get back into football shape and I think we’re going to see old shades Gronkowski and Tom Brady. The Buccaneers are going against a weak defense in the Falcons and Gronkowski has a great salary for Week 2 of DFS. After the top three tight ends in Waller, Kelce, and George Kittle, the position is hit or miss. I think Gronkowski has one of the safest matchups this week if you don’t want to spend the big bucks.
Other Value Picks: Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears ($3,700 DK, $5,100) and Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles ($4,600 DK, $5,800 FD)
Defense
Top Pick: Los Angeles Rams (4,500 DK, 4,700 FD)
The Rams will go against the Colts this week and I see them shutting down the Colts as they did to the Bears. The Colts will still be without T.Y. Hilton so, Jalen Ramsey will be on Michael Pittman Jr. or Zach Pascal. Carson Wentz looked fine in his first game with the Colts, but he will be tested with this Rams defense.
Value Pick: New Orleans Saints (3,100 DK, 4,300 FD)
The Saints will play the Panthers on the road this week. I think the Saints are way undervalued for this week. I don’t think they will finish as the top defense this week, but I see them finishing close to the top five with this matchup. With this salary, you will be able to spend on your wide receiver or running back slot.
