Week 2 is here, and that means another round of survivor pool picks. Last week I went 1 for three on my picks, but my final pick was correct. So, as long as you locked in my final pick as your pick, you’ll survive another week.
Recap of last week. I chose the 49ers to beat the Bears. The Bears won 19-10 in a wild weather game. The field was flooded and that took a toll on the 49ers’ game plan.
I also chose the Bengals to beat the Steelers. This game was a fluke and a sloppy game on both sides. The Steelers pulled it off in overtime.
My final pick and locked-in pick was the Ravens over the Jets. The Ravens won 24-9, and are now off my list of picks going forward.
Now, it’s time for me to go three for three on my survivor picks for Week 2.
Week 2 Survivor Pool Picks
All lines are taken from ESPN
Atlanta Falcons @ Los Angeles Rams (-10.5)
Pick: Los Angeles Rams
This is probably the easiest pick of the week. But, I’m going with the Rams this week, because Week 1 was full of upsets. It is going to take a few weeks till we know what teams are the real deal. And I’m ok with using my Rams pick this early in the season.
The Rams were blown out by the Bills in Week 1, and I believe that’s going to fuel them this week. The Falcons played great in Week 1, but then blew their lead at the end. I have no trust in the Falcons winning this game this week.
Cincinnati Bengals (-7.5) @ Dallas Cowboys
Pick: Cincinnati Bengals
Yes, I’m choosing the Bengals again after they lost last week. But, the Dallas Cowboys are the new Jets. Dak Prescott is out and the rushing game looked terrible for the Cowboys. They look like a team that could go 0-16 if Prescott doesn’t come back.
But, he will in a few weeks. So now is the time to get your picks in over the Cowboys. The Bengals looked rusty in Week 1, but Ja’Marr Chase still looked elite. I expect him and Joe Mixon to torch the Cowboys this week.
Washington Commanders @ Detroit Lions (-1.5)
Pick: Detroit Lions
This game is going to be close, but I think the Lions are a lot better than they get credit for. The Lions gave the Eagles a run for their money last week, and I expect them to tune things up this week. D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams are a two-headed monster in the backfield.
And, let’s not forget about Amon-Ra St. Brown, who went off last week. But, I’m not checking off the Commanders that easily. Carson Wentz looked pretty good in Week 1, so he is going to come out blazing again.
But, if you want to knock one of these lower-tier teams off your list. I’d go with the Lions this week, in a close battle.
My Pick: Los Angeles Rams
Like I said before, this is the only game of the week that I’m 100% sure of. The season is young, and it is hard to tell what team is for real. But, we all know the Rams are the real deal, they just went up against maybe the best AFC team in the Bills.
I’m going with the safe pick this week and taking the Rams in a blowout win at home.
