Week 4 NFL DK Main Slate

Three weeks into the NFL season and I do not think Hollywood could make up how unpredictable it’s been. The Los Angeles Rams did the unthinkable, defeating the San Francisco 49ers 27-24 with a depleted roster. On Monday night football, Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels delivered like a seasoned veteran, completing 91% of his passes (21-23) en route to victory over the Cincinnati Bengals 38-33. The NFL DFS scene is just as wild. So many players in good spots failed to hit value, such as Brandon Aiyuk and Mark Andrews. Aiyuk scored 9.80 DraftKings points, and Andrews gave us zilch (my feelings still hurt four days later). Thank goodness Week 4 is here to erase the Week 3 scars. It’s time to get back on track for another 12-game slate. I have done the research to identify my top three cash and GPP plays at the skilled positions, top positional fade, and top stacks to help YOU win big. Without further ado, let’s dive into the Week 4 NFL DFS plays for the main slate.

Week 4 NFL DFS Picks for the DK Main Slate

Quarterbacks

C.J. Stroud (QB – HOU): DK $7,000 vs. JAC (Cash)

Coming off a forgettable 11.8 DK Week 3 output, C.J. Stroud returns home to face division rival Jacksonville Jaguars. This is a solid bounce-back spot. Stroud has a passer rating of 117.2 with 584 yards and four touchdowns in two games, the Jaguars in his career (per statmuse.com). On the season, Jacksonville’s defense is playing man coverage at the highest rate of any team currently at 50%. Stroud excels against man coverage and should have no issue delivering the football to his playmakers. The Texans are (-6.5) point home favorites with the second-highest implied team total of (26). I expect Stroud to score 20+ DK points and finish the top five for the week.

Kyler Murray (QB – ARI): DK $6,800 vs. WAS (Cash)

Last week, Kyler Murray (on paper) was in a fantastic game environment against the Detroit Lions. The game did not deliver on the over/under. Detroit’s defense held Murray to his second-lowest DK output of the season with 15.8. The good news here is that the Commander’s defense will not pose the same challenge. Over 23 DK points per game have been surrendered by Washington to opposing QBs in the last two weeks (per Pro Football Reference). Expect Murray to turn things around as I am anticipating a spike week.

Justin Fields (QB – PIT): DK $5,500 at IND (GPP)

The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of five teams left undefeated. Their defense and Justin Fields are among the reasons why. The Colts just allowed a 300-yard passing game to Caleb Williams. I do not believe the Steelers will allow Fields to throw for 300 this week, but 200+ passing yards is doable. He is completing 73% of his passes this season (career high). Because of the Steelers-Colts 40 point (O/U), not many people will have players from this game. Therefore, Fields will be lower rostered in contests. Another reason I like Fields is because there will be opportunities for him to use his legs. The Steelers RB is banged up.

Trevor Lawrence (QB – JAC): DK $5,700 at HOU (Fade)

Man, what a mess the 2024 Jacksonville Jaguars are. They are one of three remaining winless teams. Trevor Lawrence is not seeing the field well. Lawrence is completing a career-low 52.8% of his passes (per Pro Football Reference). The matchup against Houston is actually good. Texans have allowed the sixth most DK points to QBs (21 per game). With Houston getting blown out last week, my confidence to play Lawrence is low. Pivot to Andy Dalton for $400 less DK.

Running Backs

Bijan Robinson (RB – ATL): DK $7,400 vs. NO (Cash)

The Atlanta Falcons will seek to bounce back this week after a tough loss to Kansas City on Sunday night football. That all starts with Bijan Robinson. Robinson has underperformed up to this point. His usage is fantastic, playing on 82% of snaps, and averaging 20 touches per game. But he has no weekly finishes inside the top 12. If there was ever a week for Robinson to finish as an RB1, it’s this one. Bijan Robinson has had 27 carries for 119 yards and has scored three touchdowns in two games against the Saints in his career (per statmuse.com). The two games resulted in top-five finishes. Time for this Falcon to rise up as they are (-2.5) point home favorites.

Aaron Jones (RB – MIN): DK $6,400 at GB (Cash)

This is a bittersweet week for Aaron Jones. He returns to Green Bay as a visitor playing his former team. The Vikings are off to a hot start at 3-0, but find themselves (-3) point underdogs for this matchup. Jones is playing 58% of snaps, averaging 18 opportunities per game, and has two top-12 finishes this season. Green Bay is giving up the 12th most DK points per game (25.3) to RBs (per Pro Football Reference). Jones may be a popular play due to the revenge narrative, but he is good chalk.

Braelon Allen (RB – NYJ): DK $5,400 vs. DEN (GPP)

Some may wonder why Braelon Allen. The kid is so fun to watch. Each week Allen’s involvement has increased. He is on the field for 28% of snaps, averaging nine touches, and two weeks ago finished as the RB6. The Jets are (-7) point home favorites versus Denver. Denver is middle of the pack in points allowed to RBs. While Breece Hall is a fine play, I believe Allen will see more opportunities and provide a better return on investment at cost.

Travis Etienne (RB – JAC): DK $7,000 at HOU (Fade)

It is never fun listing a caliber player like Travis Etienne as a fade, but the matchup against Houston is not ideal. The Texans give up the 10th fewest points to RBs (per Pro Football Reference). Etienne has not scored 15 fantasy points in a game this season. Ironically, Etienne is averaging 15 touches per game and playing 70% of snaps. In Etienne’s last two games against Houston, he amassed 39 carries for 136 yards, eight receptions for 80 yards, and no touchdowns (per statmuse.com). For $300 more DK, give me Kyren Williams in a plus matchup.

Wide Receivers

Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR – ARI): DK $7,500 vs. WAS (Cash)

Washington’s secondary is the gift that keeps on giving. They have allowed the most DK points per game to WRs (54.1) and third most passing yards (582) (per Pro Football Reference). Marvin Harrison Jr. just had 11 targets a week ago against Detroit. With Trey Mcbride in concussion protocol, if he were to miss, Harrison Jr. could potentially see 12-15 looks his way. Harrison Jr. was a limited participant at practice today so he’s on track to play (monitor the situation). I believe he will play and break the slate as the leading scorer.

George Pickens (WR – PIT): DK $5,700 at IND (GPP)

The Steelers-Colts matchup is flying under the radar. There are a few one-off pieces in play. George Pickens is my favorite. Indianapolis is allowing the fifth most DK points to WRs (42.6) (per Pro Football Reference). The Colts play single-high coverage often which benefits Pickens. Pickens has not had his breakout game yet, but this could be the week.

Diontae Johnson (WR – CAR): DK $5,600 vs. CIN (Cash)

Fresh off a QB change last week, Diontae Johnson finished with 14 targets, eight catches for 122 yards, and a touchdown. Good enough for WR6 on the week. Terry Mclaurin just posted 100 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals defense on Monday night football. With Johnson’s QB Andy Dalton playing his former team, I expect him to be aggressive. Carolina are (+4.5) point home dogs. Diontae may be the second receiver to post 100 yards in a negative game script.

Garrett Wilson (WR – NYJ): DK $6,900 vs. DEN (Fade)

This is the week Garrett Wilson sees Broncos top cornerback Pat Surtain II. Over the last three weeks Surtain II has held DK Metcalf to 29 yards, George Pickens to 29 yards, and Mike Evans to 17 yards. Not an ideal spot for a Wilson ceiling game. The Jets RBs are the way to attack Denver’s defense. I would rather roster Nico Collins for $300 more DK.

Tight Ends

Dallas Goedert (TE – PHI): DK $5,100 at TB (Cash)

What a nightmare the tight end landscape is. Most players are struggling to score double-digit points. Last week was no issue for Dallas Goedert. He led all TEs with 30 DK points with 11 targets, and 10 catches for 170 yards. Tampa Bay gives up the 4th fewest points to TEs (per Pro Football Reference). However, with no A.J. Brown and possibly DeVonta Smith for another week, Goedert makes for a strong play.

Kyle Pitts (TE – ATL): DK $4,800 vs. NO (Cash)

Last week, Kyle Pitts was a no-flag touchdown away from a solid week. Instead, Pitts finished the game against Kansas City with 2 receptions for 59 yards and five targets. Pitts’ matchup against New Orleans is favorable. New Orleans allows the fifth most points to opposing TEs (per Pro Football Reference). Some folks may be scared to play Pitts, but I encourage you to give him another chance.

Pat Friermuth (TE – PIT): DK $3,900 at IND (GPP)

In Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers, Pat Friermuth finished as the TE 15. He played on 81% of snaps, with four catches for 33 yards. For Week 4, Friermuth can finish as a top-five TE. Indy is giving up the seventh most points to TEs (per Pro Football Reference). If the Colts can keep pace, I like Friermuth’s chances to pay off his DK salary.

Hunter Henry (TE – NE): DK $4,200 at SF (Fade)

New England is traveling west to take on a pissed San Francisco team. The Patriots are (+10.5) point road dogs. Hunter Henry leads the team in targets with 18. However, I do not like this spot for him. San Francisco only allows the least amount of DK points to opposing TEs (9.9) (per Pro Football Reference). For $200 more DK Cole Kmet is a better option.
