Week 5 Wide Receiver Sleepers: Keke, Do You Love Me?

Ohhh, baby! It’s my favorite time of the week. We are doing Week 5 wide receiver sleepers this week. There are a few matchups to exploit, particularly on Thursday night, that have my interest.

A lot of these guys I talked about on the Hot Take Podcast. I was joined by Chris “The” Welsh… Or I guess it would be Chris “It’s the Welsh” Welsh(?). Find him on the Fantasy Blackbook Pod. His personality is contagious so give his stuff a spin,

Anyway, Keke Coutee is a guy you should familiarize yourself with. He is DeShaun Watson’s latest weapon and is a better version of Antonio Callaway. Before we talk about Keke (are you riding?), lets shift gears to Thursday Night. There is a player that can be plugged into your lineup this week who is in a prime position.

Week 5 Wide Receiver Sleepers

Chester Rogers, Indianapolis Colts

Rogers is not a household name by any means. But, Thursday could be a beautiful day in the neighborhood for Mr. Rogers

Fantrax Football CommissionerHead Coach Frank Reich expressed that he is doubtful that T.Y. Hilton will play due to a hamstring injury. Rogers split time with Ryan Grant on Sunday in Hilton’s absence. In a game where Andrew Luck threw 62 times, Rogers saw 11 targets and caught eight of those. He finished the game with 85 yards and saw playing time for 80 percent of the Colts’ snaps.

Both Grant and Rogers are both fine flex starts this week. Grant was on the field about the same amount of time but only had seven targets and five catches for 65 yards. The Colts cannot run the ball and I project them to be down in this game. Expect Rogers to be a volume play with touchdown upside against the Patriots.

Keke Coutee, Houston Texans

Again, not the most household name. In fact, I am confident that some houses would not tolerate such language (I thank you).

Jokes aside, Coutee could win you your league.

Yes, that is optimistic but hear me out.

Coutee is one of the Week 5 wide receiver sleeper’s because of a whopping 15 targets in Week 4. Coutee was highly involved in a shootout with Luck and the Colts and racked up 11 receptions for 109 yards. We already know that he can get the volume, but Will Fuller is banged up. If anything were to happen to Fuller, who is questionable for Week 5, Coutee is the next man up.

Think of Coutee like a John Brown. At 5’10”, Coutee is not a tall receiver. He does, however, have game-breaking speed out of the slot. The Texans drafted Coutee in the fourth round out of Texas Tech in part because he ran a 4,43 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. Even if Fuller is 100 percent, the Texan’s like to use three wide receivers. They play the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football who just allowed 139 yards and two touchdowns to Golden Tate in Week 4.

Fire away.
