Week 6 NFL DFS: DraftKings Picks for the Main Slate

Five weeks of the NFL season are in the books, and games are becoming more exciting to watch. Nine teams scored 30 points or more compared to eight the week prior. As exciting as that is, injuries are happening at a higher rate than ever. Heading to Week 6 it feels like every player has appeared on a team’s injury report in some shape, form, or fashion. Just remember to check your DFS player’s status before lineups lock on Sunday at 1 pm Eastern time (news is constantly changing). Like last week, it is another 10-game slate. I have done the research to identify my top three cash and GPP plays at the skilled positions, top positional fade, and top stacks to help YOU win big. Without further ado, let’s talk about the Week 6 NFL DraftKings picks for the main slate.

Week 6 NFL DFS: DraftKings Picks

Quarterbacks

Lamar Jackson (QB – BAL): DK $7,800 vs. WAS (Cash)

Any time Lamar Jackson is sub-8,000…sign me up. Jackson’s weekly floor-ceiling combination is deadly with three top-five finishes already this season. Another cool thing about Jackson is he’s 21-1 against the NFC. Jackson’s opponents, the Washington Commanders, are scorching hot with a 4-1 record. Their defense is playing better, but they still surrender the ninth most DK points to QBs (per Pro Football Reference). Jackson’s Ravens are (-7) point home favorites with this week’s highest implied team total of (29). Expect another spike week for Mr. Jackson.

Dak Prescott (QB – DAL): DK $6,700 vs. DET (Cash)

On Sunday night football, Dak Prescott got back on track completing 29 of 42 passes for 352 yards, along with two touchdowns and two picks. As a result, the Cowboys won the game and Prescott scored 22.4 DK points. If Dallas wants to win consecutive games, Prescott will need to limit his turnovers. The Lions are a run-funnel defense which means Prescott will throw often. They allow the eight most DK points to QBs (per Pro Football Reference). The Cowboys are (+3) point home underdogs. I expect Prescott to thrive in a good game environment.

Will Levis (QB – TEN): DK $4,800 vs. IND (GPP)

Man, I was excited about Will Levis taking a step forward in year two. Further insulting is the fact that Levis has more interceptions (six) than touchdowns thrown (four) this season. Many may not believe in Levis at this point, but his matchup vs. Indy is a good one. The Colts rank third in most DK points allowed to QBs with 23.2 a game (per Pro Football Reference). Levis should have no trouble exploiting this matchup. Folks may start believing in him again, and this game will be the reason why.

C.J. Stroud (QB – HOU): DK $7,000 at NE (Fade)

In each of the last two weeks, C.J. Stroud has been a solid play posting over 20 DK points, and 300 passing yards. It is a different story in Week 6 as Stroud heads to New England sans Nico Collins. Houston are (-6.5) road favorites, but I believe Stroud will have a hard time moving the ball downfield. New England gives up the ninth fewest DK points to QBs (per Pro Football Reference). For $200 more DK, give me Jalen Hurts and his healthy playmakers in a better spot.

Running Backs

David Montgomery (RB – DET): DK $6,500 at DAL (Cash)

The Lions-Cowboys game has the highest over/under this week of 52.5. Any time Detroit are favorites David Montgomery is someone to consider rostering. In four games played Montgomery is on the field for 44% of snaps, averaging 18.1 DK points, and one touchdown per game. The Dallas defense allows the sixth most DK points to RBs (per Pro Football Reference). Jahmyr Gibbs is also playable, but Montgomery has a better chance to score multiple times. It would not surprise me to see Montgomery finish as a top-five RB.

Bucky Irving (RB – TB): DK $5,400 at NO (Cash)

Rachaad White is doubtful to play in Week 6. What an opportunity for Bucky Irving to increase his role in the Bucs backfield. Irving is on the field 37% of snaps and receives 10.5 touches per game. Irving provides the team a level of burst and explosiveness that White lacks. New Orleans is middle of the pack against RBs but allows four receptions per game (per Pro Football Reference). With Tampa Bay being (-3) point road favorites, White has a good shot to see his first top 12 finish this season.

Tyler Allgeier (RB – ATL): DK $5,100 at CAR (GPP)

Atlanta heads to Carolina to take on everyone’s favorite team for opposing RBs. The Panthers allow the second most DK points a game with 32.2 (per Pro Football Reference). By default, many will flock to play Tyler Allgeier’s teammate Bijan Robinson thinking this is the get-right game. The truth is, Robinson is playing hurt. It is a perfect spot to utilize Allgeier as leverage. If the Falcons go up big in this game, Allgeier will be the better point-per-dollar play over Robinson. Enjoy the $1,500 discount and let the field pull their hair out over another disappointing output from Robinson.

Rico Dowdle (RB – DAL): DK $5,900 vs. DET (Fade)

Last week in Pittsburgh Rico Dowdle had his breakout game scoring 19.4 DK points. Dowdle finished that game with 20 carries for 87 yards, two receptions for 27 yards, and a receiving touchdown. The matchup against Detroit is not ideal. Ken Walker is the only RB to score 15+ DK points all season on them. The Lions rank fourth in the fewest points allowed to RBs (per Pro Football Reference). I would prefer playing Tony Pollard for $100 more DK or Cowboys pass catchers.

Wide Receivers

CeeDee Lamb (WR – DAL): DK $8,600 vs. DET (Cash)

Speaking of pass catchers, CeeDee Lamb lands in a favorable spot for a spike week. Slot WRs are the way to attack Detroit. They have allowed over 100 yards to Cooper Kupp and Chris Godwin. No disrespect to the WRs mentioned but neither guy is the talent Lamb is. It is really wild that Lamb only has one top-12 finish this season. With Dallas expected to trail this game, I expect Lamb to see 12+ targets en route to finishing as Week 6’s top-scoring WR.

Zay Flowers (WR – BAL): DK $6,500 vs. WAS (Cash)

Last week against Cincinnati Zay Flowers got back on track scoring 22 DK points. It was Flowers’ second time over 20 this season. Certainly not the last time. Flowers has a Week 6 date with Washington. With the schedule adjusted, the Commanders allow the sixth most DK points to WRs (per Pro Football Reference). Whether or not Commanders-Ravens is high-scoring, Lamar Jackson’s number one passing option will see plenty of looks his way. If Flowers hits pay dirt again, watch out.

Ja’Lynn Polk (WR – NE): DK $3,600 vs. HOU (GPP)

If you have not heard, Drake Maye is taking over at QB for Jacoby Brissett. We will see how long it takes for Maye to get acclimated but I am excited to see him with Ja’Lynn Polk. Polk saw 13 targets in the last two weeks. Houston’s defense ranks 13th in DK points allowed to WRs (per Pro Football Reference). New England are (+6.5) home dogs but I have a hunch the game will be closer than that. If Maye can overcome his offensive line woes, Polk could pay off in a big way.

Mike Evans (WR – TB): DK $7,300 at NO (Fade)

Anytime the Bucs and Saints match up, tension occurs. Particularly Mike Evans and Marshon Lattimore. The two have faced each other twice a year for six years. Evans’ average of 50 yards per game receiving against the Saints is far and away the worst of his career against a team that he has played at least four times (per nola.com). New Orleans allows the 10th fewest DK points to WRs (per Pro Football Reference). Chris Godwin is a better option for $400 less DK.

Tight Ends

Trey Mcbride (TE – ARI): DK $5,700 at GB (Cash)

It was good seeing Trey Mcbride back on the field last week after missing a game (concussion). Mcbride had six receptions for 53 yards off of nine targets. What’s encouraging about that is it was a bad matchup against San Francisco. For this week Mcbride is in a plus matchup. Green Bay gives up the ninth most DK points to TEs (per Pro Football Reference). Arizona are (+5.5) point road dogs. McBride should have a nice game.

Tucker Kraft (TE – GB): DK $4,800 vs. ARI (Cash)

With Luke Musgrave going on IR, Tucker Kraft will continue to see a big role. Kraft has averaged seven targets in the last two weeks and back-to-back TE1 finishes. Arizona is 17th against TEs (per Pro Football Reference). George Kittle just scored 20 DK points against the Cardinals. Kraft could follow suit if this game is competitive.

Chig Okonkwo (TE – TEN): DK $3,300 vs. IND (GPP)

If you are paying up for other positions in lineup builds, Chig Okonkwo is a salary saver. The hope is Okonkwo can find the end zone off his two to three targets that will come his way. The Colts allow the fourth most DK points to TEs (per Pro Football Reference). If Will Levis has a good game, let’s hope he brings Okonkwo along for the ride.

David Njoku (TE – CLE): DK $4,200 ar PHI (Fade)

Right now the Cleveland Browns are a mess. They can not the ball adequately down the field. David Njoku’s return should provide a boost to the Browns passing attack, but this matchup against Philadelphia is not good. The Eagles are the second-stingiest team against opposing TEs with no touchdowns allowed (per Pro Football Reference). I would rather play Kyle Pitts for $200 more DK.

Top Stacks

1. Ravens-Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, Zay Flowers

2. Cowboys-Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Jalen Tolbert

3. Lions-Jared Goff, David Montgomery, Amon-Ra St. Brown

4. Falcons-Kirk Cousins, Drake London, Darnell Mooney

5. Titans-Will Levis, Calvin Ridley, DeAndre Hopkins
