Week 6 Wide receiver Sleepers and Streamers

Whether it’s bad quarterback play, bye weeks or injuries, even a deep position like wide receiver often leaves fantasy managers lacking. That’s why we are here with our favorite Week 6 wide receiver streamers and sleepers. Five weeks into the season we have a better understanding of which offenses are clicking, which are struggling, and whose arrows are pointing up. Don’t get caught missing out on valuable points struggling with the firing roster decisions.

Week 6 Wide Receiver Sleepers and Streamers

Streamers

Zay Flowers- Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens have one of, if not THE best run game in the league right now. With that comes the lack of the need to pass the ball week to week. When they do throw the ball quarterback Lamar Jackson has been efficient throwing nine touchdowns and only one interception. While tight end Mark Andrews has been a letdown, sophomore wide receiver Zay Flowers has been a solid option for your fantasy team. After posting seven receptions for 111 yards on twelve targets in Week 5 he has a chance to repeat that if not better in Week 6. Facing the Washington Commanders who are currently giving up the most points to the wide receiver position. It’s a matchup that Flowers and Lamar should take advantage of. The Commanders have been scoring points this season so the Ravens will have to match to keep their winning streak alive. Fire up Zay Flowers as one of your streaming wide receivers in Week 6.

Darnell Mooney- Atlanta Falcons

The preseason hype for the Atlanta Falcons is starting to come true. What was missed by most was how important Darnell Mooney would be to this offense. After coming over from Chicago Bears he has been the second-leading target-getter behind Drake London. Week 6 sends the Falcons to play the Carolina Panthers. They have a solid pair of cornerbacks in Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson but neither ranks highly according to PFF.com. With veteran Kirk Cousins under center, he should be able to find the soft spot in the Panthers’ defense and get the ball to his playmakers. I like how consistent Mooney has been for far this season. Outside of Week 1, Mooney hasn’t scored less than eight fantasy points. He should continue this trend within Week 6.

Keon Coleman- Buffalo Bills

The passing game for the Buffalo Bills has been mediocre at best this season. Josh Allen has only once thrown for over 250 yards and three times hasn’t been over 200 yards. Part of that is the focus on the run game and part of that is building chemistry with his receivers. One of them is rookie Keon Coleman. A receiver that the Bills were targeting the whole draft process and were able to trade back and get at the start of the 2nd round.
Coleman now has two touchdowns in the past three games and with Khalil Shakir out in Week 5, Coleman saw five targets. His snap share did drop below the 70% mark which is worrisome but I still like him as he continues to develop into an alpha receiver. Week 6 brings in The New York Jets which boost one of the best secondaries in the game. It’s a tough matchup for the rookie who will have to find creative ways to avoid Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed. The hope is that the primetime Monday night game is a shoot-out and Coleman can find the end zone again.

Sleepers

Jahan Dotson- Philadelphia Eagles

Next man up. That’s always the talk in football. That has been true for the wide receiver room for the Philadelphia Eagles. With both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith missing games, Jahan Dotson has stepped into the lead receiving role. Dotson has yet to impress or produce in that role which is partly why he was available for trade from the Washington Commanders right before the season started. Playing against the Cleveland Browns brings a certain level of competition. If Dotson is covered by Denzel Ward, it will be much more of the same the we have seen this year. If Dotson can get matched up against Martin Emerson Jr, he should have a better game. One of the reasons I like Dotson as a wide receiver sleeper is that one if not both of Brown (hamstring) and Smith (concussion) should be back. The Eagles are also coming off their bye week so they have had plenty of time to game plan to get their receivers open. The Browns have been struggling this season and with the Eagles currently sitting at 2-2 they need to start winning to get back in the Super Bowl contention conversation. I believe Week 6 will be a get-right game and Jahan Dotson will be a part of that.

Adonai Mitchell- Indianapolis Colts

The quarterback question for the Indianapolis Colts is going to continue all week if not all season. Anthony Richardson missed Week 5 with an oblique injury that isn’t considered a long-term injury. With Joe Flacco coming in and playing well it remains unclear what the struggling Colts will do going forward. One bright spot other than Flacco in the Week 5 loss was the play of rookie Adonai Mitchell. He saw seven targets and while he only caught four of them for 38 yards the team was getting creative in getting him the ball. Mitchell had one passing and one rushing attempt in the game. It’s a sign that the coaching staff sees his potential in what he can bring to the offense. They should continue to find ways to get him the ball and allow him to use his athleticism.

The Colts are playing divisional rival Tennessee Titans who are giving up the least fantasy points to wide receivers. While on the surface that looks bad for Mitchell, it’s not as bad as it seems. I’m more worried about Michael Pittman and Josh Down but Mitchell moves around the formation enough that he should be able to get favorable matchups. He’s a wide receiver sleeper for a reason. More than one thing needs to break Mitchel’s way for him to be a viable fantasy asset but if you are desperate you can slide him into your lineup and hope for the best.

Ja’Lynn Polk- New England Patriots

Is New England switching quarterback? Maybe. Does the switch from Jacoby Brissett to Drake Maye impact Ja’Lynn Polk’s role? If it does, it’s for the better. Polk was a bad call away from scoring a touchdown and being one of the best in Week 5. He would be a wide receiver streamer this week if not for the tough matchup against the Houston Texans.

After seeing seven targets in Week 4 and then six in Week 5 Polk is starting to turn into the leading man for the Patriots. It’s what they hoped he would be when they drafted him in the second round. Banking on the trend of the volume we have seen from him, he is worthy it if you are looking for a wide receiver sleeper. It’s a tough matchup but a potential shoot-out and a potential spark if Maye gets his first NFL start.
