Week 7 Fantasy Hockey Goalie Streams

We are starting to get into the thick of the 2024-25 NHL season and there are goalies to add that will help you win in fantasy hockey. Between injuries and struggling starters, be sure to take advantage of who is going to play out of the available goalies. This week should feature some sneaky good potential pickups, so let’s dive in.

Fantasy Hockey Week 7 Goalie Streams

David Rittich, Los Angeles Kings

The Los Angeles Kings placed starter Darcy Kuemper on the injured reserve last week and David Rittich, the backup, is taking over the starting duties in the meantime. He is coming off a big win against the Detroit Red Wings in which he stopped 17 of 18 shots. Rittich has started four games in November and has won three of them with a SV% of .923 or better.

The Kings match up against the Buffalo Sabres and Seattle Kraken this week and neither are overly impressive. LA should be favourites in both and Rittich will most definitely get the start in the first game against Buffalo. Kuemper is reportedly expected to return for the game vs Seattle, but the way Rittich is playing, there’s no need to rush as the team only has two games this week. There is a possibility you could get two good starts this week if you go this route and add this veteran backup of the Kings.

Devon Levi, Buffalo Sabres

The Sabres have two really good matchups and one decent matchup this week. The team starts with a game against the Kings, but then has a back-to-back later in the week facing the Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks. Devon Levi will have one favourable start this week at the very least against a bottom team in the league. This should be a win and provide your fantasy hockey team with some good stats.

Ukko-Pekka Luukonen is injured at the moment and could return this week. If he doesn’t return by Nov. 20 (the Sabres’ first game this week), then Levi should be penciled in for two starts. Levi could definitely be doing better this season, but he is in a good spot this week to turn things around. The 22-year-old is coming off a loss to the Philadelphia Flyers but won his previous start against the Ottawa Senators. If there was a time to stream him, this week would be that time.

Calvin Pickard, Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers are not getting good goaltending from Stuart Skinner and it is becoming a problem. From the middle of the third period and into overtime against the Toronto Maple Leafs, he faced four shots. Three of those got past him. Calvin Pickard has won four of his past five starts and recorded a SV% of at least .909 in all four of those wins. He is 4-2-0 on the season with a 2.46 GAA and .890 SV%.

The Oilers have four games this week. The team starts with two weaker opponents, the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators to lead off the week, but then have to play the Minnesota Wild and New York Rangers later in the week. Pickard should start the game against Montreal, one of the weakest teams in the league, after Skinner’s last poor start. Then Pickard should either get in a game against the Wild or Rangers to give you two starts for the week. For the most part, the Oilers have played alright and have been winning games, so that should continue.
