Week 8 NFL Player Props for Sunday Night Football

To a degree, this is going to be an ever-evolving endeavor throughout the week. As you prepare for Sunday Night Football, there will always be specific plays you like and wish to target. NFL player props will stand out to you, and at the moment, you should capitalize on them. As news changes throughout the week, these markets will move as well, so lock in your player prop picks as you see them.

Each week, I will take a look at four NFL player prop targets on DraftKings for Sunday Night Football and provide some commentary about them. Please be aware though, that these are subject to market movements.

NFL Player Props

Austin Ekeler Over 49.5 Rushing Yards @ -125

Austin Ekeler got off to a great start with 117 rushing yards in Week 1. The problem though, is that it was the last we saw of Ekeler for the next four weeks. It included the Chargers’ bye week at the end, but it was still a lengthy absence from your first-round pick.

In the two games since his return, Ekeler has carried the ball 14 times each. The problem though is finding room to run in each of those games as he combined for just 72 yards. This week though, things should shake up to be better for Ekeler.

Chicago has struggled against opposing running backs this season, and that makes it a great matchup. Equally important for Ekeler is game flow on Sunday. The Chargers should jump out to an early lead, and his player props of 49.5 rushing yards should be easily attainable.

D’Onta Foreman Over 48.5 Rushing Yards @ -115

While Roschon Johnson is slated to return on Sunday, the rookie will likely be eased back into action. That leaves D’Onta Foreman to lead the Chicago backfield for the third straight week. Success when given the chance shouldn’t be a surprise here as Foreman finished with 914 rushing yards last season when pressed into duty with Carolina.

In the last two weeks, Foreman has gained 65 and 89 yards, respectively. With a rookie quarterback in Tyson Bagent under center again, the Bears will look to control the tempo where they can. Using Foreman to help in the running game will ultimately do just that and it’s a solid matchup as well.

D.J. Moore Over 4.5 Receptions @ -166

The payout on D.J. Moore’s reception player props isn’t great, but I feel more comfortable here than with his yardage number. Despite having 13 receptions in the last two weeks, Moore has fallen short each time (51 and 54 receiving yards) compared to his 56.5 receiving yard number.

Working in Moore’s favor is the fact that the Chargers have allowed the most points to opposing receivers from a fantasy perspective. For whatever level of volume there is, Moore is the number one receiver in Chicago. We know that Bagent is going to look Moore’s way and there shouldn’t be much resistance. Once the Bears fall behind, Moore should be even busier which makes picking up five receptions that much easier.

Keenan Allen Under 7.5 Receptions @ 7.5

We like the Chargers to win on Sunday and Keenan Allen is one of the best receivers in the game. There isn’t as much competition now that Mike Williams is out, but that also means teams have an easier time focusing on Allen.

Allen is the number-one receiver for the Chargers and a favorite target of Justin Herbert. He is going to be involved and will make big plays without issue. My issue though is with the receptions portion of his player props. Quite simply, 7.5 receptions is just too ambitious. In six games, Allen has only hit that mark twice this year. Once, he scraped by with eight catches, while the other game was pure insanity with 18 receptions. Those aren’t the odds I want to follow.
