Are players being out week after week getting you down? Do you feel you need a little something to perk you and make you feel good about the fantasy season? Well, I have just what you need right here folks. That’s right some players to grab and stash prior to the games kicking off on Sunday. Jump right in, find a player you need, and plug that hole up with my version of Gorilla Tape.
Let’s go get those must-stashes and patch up those line-up holes prior to Week 6.
Week 6 Weekend Waiver Wire
Quarterbacks
Andy Dalton, Carolina Panthers
I know he was bad in Week 5 against a great Bears defense. But he gets to play the Falcons in Week 6 and the Commanders in Week 7. He will be throwing the ball in both games. At the end of the season, the schedule gets even easier. He may be on your playoff roster.
Jamies Winston, Cleveland Browns
How much longer can Deshaun Watson hang on for? He has played one of the cushiest schedules so far and has been completely atrocious. I give Winston 2 more weeks and then it will be Winston slinging the ball all over the place.
Quarterback Notes: Winston is a speculative addition now prior to him actually having any value. Dalton is who he is, in easy matchups he is going to put up numbers and that schedule for the Panthers is very easy in the second half of the season.
Running Backs
Tyrone Tracey, New York Giants
Devin Singletary was out for Week 5. Tracy answered the call with 18 carries for 129 yards. Singletary is questionable again and that could mean big things for Tracy. I would make the add in case anything happens with Devin Singletary or if the Giants decide Tracy is a better option.
Antonio Gibson, New England Patriots
Gibby, has been making some big plays for the Patriots with either a big run or a big reception. Stevenson is out for Week 6. If you didn’t do it after me talking about him here last week run to the waiver wire and add him right now.
Other running backs to consider:
- Jeremy McNichols- Washington Commanders, 7 carries 44 yards, TD, He has 3 TDs in the last 2 games
- Roschon Johnson – Chicago Bears, 10 carries, 25 yards, 2 TDs in Week 5
- Tre Sermon – Indianapolis Colts, 10 Carries, 38 yards, TD, 6 Receptions, 25 yards
Running Back Notes: If Jonathan Taylor is out Sermon makes a nice plug-and-play. If Austin Ekeler or Brian Robinson miss any time McNichols is a great addition.
Wide Receivers
Xavier Legette, Carolina Panthers
He had a shoulder injury and left the game in Week 5. I would keep him on my radar at the very least or add him as a stash.
Jalen Tolbert, Dallas Cowboys
With Brandin Cooks going to IR Tolbert is the second option at wide receiver for the Cowboys. In Week 5 he led the Cowboys in targets with 10. He turned those targets into 7 receptions, 87 yards, and a touchdown. Dak Prescott trusts him and you should too.
Other wide receivers to consider:
- Darius Slayton – New York Giants, 11 targets, 8 receptions, 122 yards, TD
- Jordan Whittington – Los Angeles Rams, 10 targets, 7 receptions, 89 yards.
Wide Receiver Notes: Legette will have better days if he is not dinged up, especially with some easy matchups on the horizon. Tolbert is the top add at wide receiver if you are needy.
Tight Ends
Tyler Conklin, New York Jets
His targets have gone up in every game this season as he and Aaron Rodgers get more acclimated with each other. In Week 5 he had 9 targets for 6 receptions and 55 yards. If you need a tight end he is out there and producing.
Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Saints are up this week and they give up the eleventh most fantasy points to tight ends. Otton meanwhile has quietly been producing some numbers. I am not afraid to take the chance here rather than keep playing tight end roulette.
Other tight ends to consider:
Taysom Hill – New Orleans Saints, missed Week 5
Colby Parkinson – Los Angeles Rams, 13 targets, 7 receptions, 52 yards
Tight End Notes: Conklin and Otton are guys you can play this week if you need them. I prefer Parkinson and Hill over both if you are looking for a more long-term solution. Parkinson is heavily involved in the Rams pass game right now and Hill quite literally seems to be a cog that makes the Saints offense roll.
