2024 Fantasy Basketball Power Forward Rankings

Tier 1

1. Victor Wembanyama (SA)

Not really a power forward since a couple of months into the prior season but, alas, I shan’t be arguing the point if he is listed as such. With Wembanyama, elite-level block and rebound numbers are expected but elite shot making and creating remains to be seen.

Tier 2

2. Anthony Davis (LAL)
3. Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL)
4. Jayson Tatum (BOS)

All three players had great as well as healthy seasons in 2023-24. Should they be able to repeat that, a spot in the top 10 of all fantasy is a reasonable expectation.

Tier 3

5. Scottie Barnes (TOR)
6. Kevin Durant (PHO)

Which would you rather pick? There’s a lot on Scottie Barnes’ shoulders by being the good player on a bad team. If he can take advantage of that, he should be a strong fantasy player. On the other hand, Durant is a much better player on a much better team.

Tier 4

7. Domantas Sabonis (SAC)
8. Kawhi Leonard (LAC)
9. Chet Holmgren (OKC)
10. LeBron James (LAL)
11. Lauri Markkanen (UTA)
12. Paul George (PHI)
13. Jaren Jackson (MEM)
14. Karl-Anthony Towns (MIN)

Domantas Sabonis is perhaps the safest pick in all of fantasy – he’ll get his numbers and rarely miss any games. Did you know that he’s finished 8th and 7th in the MVP voting in the last two years? Chet Holmgren has the most upside out of the rest of the crew – he should continue his development in his sophomore year.

Tier 5

15. Jalen Johnson (ATL)
16. Jalen Williams (OKC)
17. Jimmy Butler (MIA)
18. Franz Wagner (ORL)
19. Evan Mobley (CLE)
20. Paolo Banchero (ORL)
21. Pascal Siakam (IND)
22. Zion Williamson (NO)

A lot of eye-of-the-beholder players in this tier. Can Johnson, Williams, Wagner, Mobley, and Banchero take the next step in their development? Can Butler and Williamson stay healthy?

Tier 6

23. DeMar DeRozan (SAC)
24. Mikal Bridges (NY)
25. Kristaps Porzingis (BOS)
26. Brandon Miller (CHA)
27. Miles Bridges (CHA)

Porzingis is expected to return in December. Likely, they’ll want to take it easy with him and limit the minutes and games played. All that will make him ineligible for many fantasy formats e.g. ones with weekly roster locks or ones without playoffs. Drafting KP can only be a low-cost play for the fantasy playoffs.

Tier 7

28. Kyle Kuzma (WAS)
29. Julius Randle (MIL)
30. Keegan Murray (SAC)
31. Trey Murphy (NO)
32. Tobias Harris (DET)
33. Brandon Ingram (NO)
33. Michael Porter (DEN)
35. Jabari Smith (HOU)

This is a pretty good selection of all-around scorers, which is rare for any position this low down the list. Good to note if power forward depth gets neglected earlier in the draft.

Tier 8

36. Josh Giddey (CHI)
37. Jonathan Kuminga (GS)
38. Deni Avdija (POR)
39. Bogdan Bogdanovic (ATL)
40. Herbert Jones (NO)
41. Daniel Gafford (DAL)

A few interesting picks here – Kuminga looks to be ready to take the leap. Advija is a very hot prospect as is Giddey.

Tier 9

42. John Collins (UTA)
43. Draymond Green (GS)
44. Jerami Grant (POR)
45. P.J. Washington (DAL)
46. Naz Reid (MIN)
47. Cam Johnson (BKN)
48. Ausar Thompson (DET)
49. Aaron Gordon (DEN)
50. Trayce Jackson-Davis (GS)
51. Bobby Portis (MIL)
52. Alex Sarr (WAS)
53. Al Horford (BOS)
54. Andrew Wiggins (GS)
54. Jeremy Sochan (SA)
56. Cam Whitmore (HOU)
57. Kelly Olynyk (TOR)
58. Taylor Hendricks (UTA)
59. Jonathan Isaac (ORL)
60. Aaron Nesmith (IND)
61. Patrick Williams (CHI)
62. Jalen Smith (CHI)
63. GG Jackson (MEM)
63. Jaden McDaniels (MIN)
65. Noah Clowney (BKN)
66. Brandon Clarke (MEM)
67. Rui Hachimura (LAL)
68. De’Andre Hunter (ATL)
69. Grant Williams (CHA)
70. Zach Collins (SA)
71. Isaiah Jackson (IND)Also, make sure to check out our Dynasty Basketball Rankings and Analysis.
