This is the second and final update of the 2024-25 dynasty basketball shooting guard rankings. There has been a lot movement since the last update with one new addition to the top-10. Shockingly, several of the biggest stars in the game did not crack the top 50, including Mikal Bridges, CJ McCollum, Paul George and DeMar DeRozan. Let’s take a look at some of the dynasty risers and fallers.
Dynasty Risers
Amen Thompson, Houston Rockets
Thompson has entered the top-10 dynasty basketball shooting guard rankings. He has been on quite a roll recently, averaging 16.5 points, 8.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.5 blocks over his last 15 games. He still has one glaring weakness as a shooting guard though, his inability to make three-pointers. Thompson is averaging just 0.3 three-pointers per game this season. If he can eventually average about one more three-pointer per game, along with a few more points, he would likely find himself in the top-5 of the dynasty shooting guard rankings.
Christian Braun, Denver Nuggets
Braun didn’t appear in the last top 50 dynasty basketball shooting guard rankings in November, but he climbs to 35th in this update. He has taken his fantasy game to another level, averaging 18.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 three-pointers over his last 16 games. During that 16 game span, he has poured in nine 20 point performances, including three double-digit rebounding efforts. The 23-year-olds dynasty stock is certainly on the rise.
Dynasty Fallers
Devin Vassell, San Antonio Spurs
Vassell has plummeted 24 spots in the dynasty basketball shooting guard rankings. He is offering very little fantasy production outside of points and three-pointers. Vassell is averaging 15.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2.5 three-pointers and 1.0 steal per game this season. He is shooting .437 from the field and .753 from the free-throw line, which aren’t very flattering percentages. There are a lot more mouths to feed on the Spurs this season, especially after the acquisition of De’Aaron Fox and it appears that Vassell’s production is suffering as a result.
Mikal Bridges, New York Knicks
Surprisingly, Bridges just missed the cut of the top 50 dynasty basketball shooting guard rankings. His move from the Brooklyn Nets to the New York Knicks has not gone well for his fantasy value. Similar to Vassell, Bridges isn’t providing much value outside of scoring and three-pointers. He’s averaging 17.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 three-pointers this season. He hasn’t recored more than five rebounds or five assists in his last seven games.
