2025 Fantasy Football Divisional Breakdowns – NFC East

It’s crazy how fast a team’s fortunes can turn around. For the Dallas Cowboys, one year you’re boasting one of the best offenses in football, and the next you’re struggling to sign your franchise player. The Washington Commanders switched quickly from being a cursed organization to being on the precipice of a Super Bowl appearance with a rookie quarterback. The NFC East has it all, including a long list of great fantasy players. Let’s see whose fantasy fortunes could flip this season.

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2025 season.

2025 Fantasy Football Divisional Breakdowns – NFC East

Philadelphia Eagles

Looking back on 2024

The Eagles got their revenge on the Kansas City Chiefs in one of the more lopsided Super Bowls in years. The addition of Saquon Barkley proved to be too much for the rest of the league, as Philadelphia leaned on a dominant defense and an oppressive run game to close out contests.

Looking forward to 2025

It’s pretty foolish to pick a team to repeat as Super Bowl champs, but the Eagles are making a convincing case. The offense is potent with the ability to hit a home run in both the run and pass game. Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and A.J. Brown are all top-15 players at their positions. DeVonta Smith is right behind them. But really, it’s the defense that is their trump card and their ticket to back-to-back championships.

Fantasy relevant players

  • Jalen Hurts, QB – The “tush push” is back in 2025, which keeps Hurts as a top-five fantasy quarterback. He offers week-to-week consistency without the high draft cost of Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen.
  • Saquon Barkley, RB – With a real offensive line, Barkley carried Philadelphia to a Super Bowl last season. He’s a surefire first-round pick again in 2025.
  • A.J. Brown, WR – One of the league’s elite receivers, though not always needed in Philadelphia’s balanced offense. When the Eagles throw, the ball is going his way.
  • DeVonta Smith, WR – Can be boom-or-bust some weeks, but he’s a steady WR2 option in fantasy.

Fantasy question marks

  • Dallas Goedert, TE – Productive when healthy, but injuries and inconsistent targets have held him back. A decent late-round tight end.

Fantasy long shots

  • Will Shipley, RB – A must-add if Barkley misses time.
  • Johnny Wilson, WR – Flashing in camp, worth monitoring.
  • Jahan Dotson, WR – Now the WR3 and too inconsistent for fantasy.

Washington Commanders

Looking back on 2024

The Commanders were the biggest surprise of last season. Jayden Daniels revived the fan base and carried Washington to the NFC Championship Game. He also unlocked Terry McLaurin’s best year yet.

Looking forward to 2025

Defenses now have a year of tape on Daniels, but his dual-threat ability makes him a fantasy cheat code. The offense needs another wideout to step up alongside McLaurin, but Daniels keeps the unit relevant.

Fantasy relevant players

  • Jayden Daniels, QB – A rising fantasy star with elite rushing upside. A potential top-three quarterback this season.
  • Brian Robinson Jr., RB – A steady RB2 option, though Austin Ekeler and rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt may eat into touches.
  • Zach Ertz, TE – Still a reliable target, especially in the red zone.

Fantasy question marks

  • Deebo Samuel, WR – Now Washington’s WR2 after being traded. Injuries and consistency remain concerns.
  • Austin Ekeler, RB – No longer a fantasy cheat code but still useful. More of a flex play at this stage.

Fantasy long shots

  • Ben Sinnott, TE – Could carve out a role if Ertz fades.
  • Jacory Croskey-Merritt, RB – The future at RB, but probably not the present.

Dallas Cowboys

Looking back on 2024

The Cowboys had a turbulent season. After falling in the 2023 playoffs, fans expected a coaching change, but Mike McCarthy stayed. Injuries slowed Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, while Rico Dowdle was a surprise contributor.

Looking forward to 2025

The Cowboys neglected the running back room, leaving the offense one-dimensional. New head coach Brian Schottenheimer inherits uncertainty across the roster, and Micah Parsons remains unsigned.

Fantasy relevant players

  • Dak Prescott, QB – Known for bouncing back in odd-numbered years, Prescott is a reliable fantasy starter. Stacking him with Lamb or newcomer George Pickens is appealing.
  • CeeDee Lamb, WR – A top-three wideout in the NFL and a first-round fantasy lock.
  • George Pickens, WR – Now WR2 in Dallas, his deep-ball ability gives him major upside.
  • Jake Ferguson, TE – Prescott’s trusted safety valve when healthy.

Fantasy question marks

  • Javonte Williams, RB – Slated to start, but hasn’t been fantasy-relevant in years. Draft as depth, not a starter.

Fantasy long shots

  • Miles Sanders, RB – Declining veteran.
  • Jaydon Blue, RB – A home-run threat rookie.
  • Phil Mafah, RB – Short-yardage bruiser.

New York Giants

Looking back on 2024

The Giants had one of the league’s worst quarterback situations. Daniel Jones was benched and released, while Devin Singletary lost his starting role to rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr. Malik Nabers was the lone bright spot.

Looking forward to 2025

Russell Wilson arrives to stabilize the offense, but questions remain after his struggles in Denver and Pittsburgh. The Giants also face one of the NFL’s toughest schedules.

Fantasy relevant players

  • Russell Wilson, QB – Veteran presence who raises the floor but has limited ceiling. Best Giants QB since Eli Manning.
  • Malik Nabers, WR – The clear focal point of the offense. Volume will keep him fantasy-elite.

Fantasy question marks

  • Tyrone Tracy Jr., RB / Cam Skattebo, RB – A rookie-versus-incumbent battle likely won by Tracy.
  • Darius Slayton, WR – Stuck around and could be a deep threat for Wilson.
  • Theo Johnson, TE – Athletic tight end who flashed as a rookie. A possible sleeper with Wilson at QB.

Fantasy long shots

  • Devin Singletary, RB – The odd man out in the backfield.
  • Wan’Dale Robinson, WR – Only valuable in deep PPR formats.
