Welcome to IDP Weekly (Week 2). Today, we will focus on which players wore the Green Dot for their teams in Week 1. The green dot is the defensive player caller, which means that player is going to have a high snap share and is a must-own player for IDP formats.
In addition to green dots, we will also look at snap shares for these players in Week 1 to see anything of significance. All players are linebackers unless otherwise noted.

IDP Weekly (Week 2)
Arizona Cardinals
Mack Wilson
Wilson was expected to step in as the full-time green dot player with Kyzir White now in Tennessee, and that was exactly what we got.
He played 100% of Arizona’s defensive snaps with 75 total in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints. He got off to a solid start with 8 tackles in a heavy zone coverage scheme that should make him a viable LB2 for IDP leagues.
Atlanta Falcons
Kaden Elliss
Elliss was the full-time green dot player for Atlanta in 2024, so it wasn’t surprising to see that he was once again the defensive play caller in 2025.
He played 100% of Atlanta’s defensive snaps with 58 total in Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Atlanta was in zone coverage for over 80% of defensive snaps, which is great for linebackers. Elliss recorded only five tackles in this divisional battle, but he was all over the field for much of the game. I expect the results to come sooner rather than later. The Falcons also ran in nickel for much of the game with Divine Deablo as the other off-ball LB. Elliss is an elite LB1, with LB1 overall potential.
Baltimore Ravens
Roquan Smith
Smith has been the full-time play-caller for the Ravens for as long as I can remember, and that is the case once again this season.
He played 100% of Baltimore’s defensive snaps with 85 total in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills. Smith is Baltimore’s lone three-down LB and was the clear leader of the defense. He kicked off the season in style with a ten-tackle game to no one’s surprise. Baltimore typically plays a below-average amount of zone coverage, and that rate decreased to just 55%. That zone coverage rate likely keeps Smith out of the LB1 overall spot, but his talent makes him a set-and-forget LB.
Buffalo Bills
Terrel Bernard
Bernard was the green dot player last season for Buffalo and will be so once again in 2025 as one of the most reliable players on the Bills’ defense.
He played 100% of Buffalo’s defensive snaps with 51 total in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills. Bernard recorded only three tackles, which is extremely concerning and will be something to monitor. Let’s hope it’s an anomaly and not a sign of things to come. For now, he is a flex-worthy LB.
Carolina Panthers
Christian Rozeboom
Josey Jewell was the green dot linebacker for Carolina in 2024, but was released this offseason with concussion issues. He is replaced by Rozeboom, who came over from the Los Angeles Rams. Rozeboom was a full-time defender in Los Angeles and was their green dot in 2024, so the role is nothing new to him.
He played 100% of Carolina’s defensive snaps with 57 total in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Rozeboom put up an eight-tackle performance and is available in a large number of leagues. Carolina was in zone coverage for 85% of defensive snaps, which makes Rozeboom a very worthwhile add in IDP formats.
Chicago Bears
Tremaine Edmunds
Edmunds wore the dot for Chicago in 2024 and will do so once again for the Bears in 2025. It’s unclear whether this is merit-based or reflective of the T.J. Edwards injury.
He played 100% of Chicago’s defensive snaps with 56 total in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings. As mentioned above, Edwards did not play, so it was Edmunds’ game to call for Chicago. Not much to say here other than that Edmunds is a must-start even when Edwards returns.
Cincinnati Bengals
Logan Wilson
Wilson wore the green dot for Cincinnati in 2024, and he will once again in 2025. The Bengals’ defense has been historically bad, and they will see plenty of volume for IDP leagues.
He played 84% of Cincinnati’s defensive snaps with 64 total in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns. Wilson left the game early, nursing an injury, and if he misses any significant time, he could be relieved by Barrett Carter or Demetrius Knight Jr., who was a force to be reckoned with in relief. Before his injury, Wilson tallied seven tackles in a solid performance.
Cleveland Browns
Carson Schwesinger
In 2024, Jordan Hicks wore the green dot for Cleveland, but he retired this offseason. Rookie Carson Schwesinger took over the defensive play-calling duties in Week 1 and looked good doing so.
He played 100% of Cleveland’s defensive 52 snaps with total in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Schwesinger started his NFL career with eight tackles and is well on his way to becoming a must-start linebacker for IDP managers.
Dallas Cowboys
Kenneth Murray
Eric Kendrick wore the dot in 2024, but Kenneth Murray will wear it for the 2025 season after the veteran came over from Tennessee.
He played 100% of Dallas’ defensive snaps with 63 total in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Murray put up nine sacks in Week 1 and immediately took control of this defense to the surprise of many after he didn’t play a single defensive snap during the preseason. He may be available on your waiver wire, and should be added as a flex-worthy LB moving forward.
Denver Broncos
Alex Singleton
Singleton was the stud who wore the dot for Denver in 2024, and it will be him again in 2025 despite a very talented defensive unit in Denver.
He played 100% of Denver’s defensive snaps with 57 total in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans. Singleton was the team’s only three-down LB with Dre Greenlaw missing the contest due to injury. Denver runs more man coverage than zone, and with Greenlaw potentially returning next week, it’s unclear if this situation will change for Singleton. If the situation remains the same, he is a high-end LB1; if it changes, he should still be a start-worthy LB in IDP leagues.
Detroit Lions
Jack Campbell
Alex Anzalone wore the dot for the Lions in 2024, but it appears the Lions are ready to hand the reins over to the youngster, Jack Campbell.
He played 100% of Detroit’s defensive snaps with 48 total in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers. Despite Campbell wearing the dot, Anzalone was still a three-down linebacker who also played 100% of defensive snaps. This is one of the best linebacking duos in the league, and both need to be rostered in all IDP formats.
Green Bay Packers
Quay Walker
The Packers dot was worn by Quay Walker in 2024, and that’s who will wear it again in 2025. Despite the arrival of star edge rusher Micah Parsons, it’s Walker’s defense to call.
He played 100% of Green Bay’s defensive snaps with 67 total in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions. Walker contributed nine solo tackles and two tackles for loss, but was outproduced by a younger Edgerrin Cooper. This is a scary defensive unit all-around with beasts lurking in every corner. It remains to be seen if Walker can hold off Cooper for the long haul or if he will relinquish the dot to the up-and-comer. They are both LB2 in IDP leagues.
Houston Texans
Azeez Al-Shaair
The Texans will once again fire up Azeez Al-Shaair as their green dot player in 2025, after he did so in 2024. Houston looks to make a big leap forward as Al-Shaair leads a potentially elite defensive squad.
He played 100% of Houston’s defensive snaps with 60 total in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams. Al-Shaair is a three-down linebacker in a Houston defense that is primarily a nickel scheme and should return solid LB3 value all season.
Indianapolis Colts
Zaire Franklin
Franklin is one of the most experienced green dot linebackers in the league, so, unsurprisingly, he will wear the dot for Indianapolis in 2025 after doing so in 2024.
He played 89% of Indianapolis’ defensive snaps with 31 total in Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins. You may be wondering why the veterans’ playing time was so low, and that’s simple: the Dolphins were awful. Miami ran only 48 offensive snaps with Franklin playing all of them until he came out of the game in garbage time. It’s tough to decipher any scheme tendencies for the Colts after these lopsided matchups. Regardless, Franklin is locked in LB1.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Foyesdae Oluokun
Oluokun wore the dot for Jacksonville in 2024 and is likely to do so again until the day he retires. So, it’s no surprise he will wear it again in 2025 for the Jaguars.
He played 100% of Jacksonville’s snaps with 64 total in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers. Oluokun was the lone three-down linebacker for Jacksonville in a heavy dime package defense. He got off to a monster start with ten tackles, one forced fumble, and an interception. Oluokun is a locked-in LB1 who is an ever-present threat to be the IDP1 overall every week.
Kansas City Chiefs
Nick Bolton
Bolton wore the dot for Kansas City last year, and he will do so again in 2024 in a Chiefs defense that will feature Bolton and Tranquill as two full-time off-ball linebackers.
He played 100% of Kansas City’s snaps with 65 total in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chiefs lined up in nickel for most of the game, which saw both Bolton and Tranquill produce well for IDP managers. Tranquill suffered an injury, and it’s unclear how serious it was. Bolton is an LB2 with LB1 upside if Tranquill vacates his role in the defense.
Los Angeles Chargers
Daiyan Henley
Junior Colson wore the dot for the Chargers in 2024, but he is on season-ending injured reserve with a shoulder injury. This left Daiyan Henley as the team’s green dot linebacker for the 2025 season.
He played 100% of Los Angeles’ snaps with 61 total in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Henley was the Chargers’ only full-time defender and, as such, is a safe asset for fantasy managers. He totalled eight tackles and one sack and is an LB3 with LB2 upside in IDP leagues.
Los Angeles Rams
Nate Landman
Last year’s green dot for the Rams was Christian Rozeboom, who is now with the Panthers, which leaves Nate Landman as the green dot linebacker for the 2025 Rams after coming over from Atlanta this offseason.
He played 98% of Los Angeles’ defensive snaps with 62 total in Week 1 against the Houston Texans. Landman was the team’s lone three-down linebacker and played every defensive snap but one. He contributed ten tackles and forced one fumble, giving him a floor of LB2 with LB1 upside.
Las Vegas Raiders
Devin White
Robert Spillane was the Raiders’ green dot linebacker in 2024, but with his move to the New England Patriots this offseason, it creates an opportunity for Devin White to wear the dot this year.
He played 100% of Las Vegas’ defensive snaps with 71 total in Week 1 against the New England Patriots. White was successful in his first game with the dot, racking up 11 tackles. As a three-down LB, White is a worthwhile target off the waiver wire as he has consistent flex appeal in tackle-heavy IDP formats.
Miami Dolphins
Tyrel Dodson
After multiple seasons with Jordyn Brooks wearing the dot, Miami handed it over to Dodson this offseason after re-signing him to a two-year deal.
He played 100% of Miami’s defensive snaps with 73 total in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts. Brooks was still on the field for 100% of snaps, so it was peculiar to see Dodson get the dot. Both full-time linebackers put up monster tackle numbers since the Miami offense ran so few plays, so both Dolphins LBs remain worthy of starting in IDP.
Minnesota Vikings
Blake Cashman
After wearing the dot in his first season with Minnesota in 2024, Cashman will do so once again for the Vikings in 2025.
He played 64% of Minnesota’s defensive snaps with 43 total in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears. Cashman wore the dot and was on the field for 100% of the defensive snaps before a hamstring injury knocked him out of the game in the third quarter. This is one to monitor moving forward.
New England Patriots
Robert Spillane
Ja’Whaun Bentley wore the dot for New England in 2024, but was released this offseason after struggling through a pec muscle injury. That leaves Robert Spillane to wear the dot in 2025, after wearing it previously for the Las Vegas Raiders.
He played 100% of New England’s defensive snaps with 63 total in Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Spillane totalled only three tackles and looked sluggish, which is less than encouraging. The Patriots also play a 50/50 split between man/zone coverage, which is suboptimal for his IDP production. Spillane is still a viable IDP asset, but his best years are clearly behind him in a less-IDP-friendly scheme.
New Orleans Saints
Demario Davis
The Saints’ green dot was worn by veteran Demario Davis in 2024, and it will go to him again in 2025 on a defense that is going to spend plenty of time on the field.
He played 100% of New Orleans’ defensive snaps with 66 total in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. New Orleans played four DBs and two off-ball LBs for much of the game, so this defense should have ample opportunities to produce. Davis totalled nine tackles in the season opener and will be a reliable IDP asset moving forward.
New York Giants
Bobby Okereke
Okereke wore the dot last year and will do so again in 2024 while he hopes to stay healthy and productive.
He played 97% of New York’s defensive snaps with 68 total in Week 1 against the Washington Commanders. Okereke was always going to wear the dot and beat a solid IDP asset, but with Micah McFadden being lost to injury early in the game, he piled up production. A 16-tackle performance was a sign of monster things to come, as McFadden was in a walking boot, likely to miss extended time. Okereke is a league-winner.
New York Jets
Jamien Sherwood
In 2024, C.J. Mosley wore the dot for the Jets. He decided to retire this offseason, leaving Sherwood as the guy in New York.
He played 100% of New York’s defensive snaps with 56 total in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Jets featured Sherwood and Quincy Williams as the anchors in the middle of this defense and will continue to do so, making both reliable LB2-level IDP assets.
Philadelphia Eagles
Zack Baun
Nakobe Dean wore the dot in 2024, but the Eagles have finally realized that Zack Baun may be the best defender in the NFL, so he will wear it this year.
He played 100% of Philadelphia’s defensive snaps with 61 total in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles were in nickel for a good portion of the game with Bain and Jihaad Campbell as the full-time LBs. Baun contributed nine tackles, one pass defended, and one tackle for loss, and will continue to be one of, if not the best IDP player in fantasy.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Patrick Queen
Queen returns to the green dot role for Pittsburgh in 2025, after wearing it in 2024. He is a consistent and productive veteran who will continue to be an elite producer.
He played 100% of Pittsburgh’s defensive snaps with 64 total in Week 1 against the New York Jets. The Steelers played zone coverage for over 75% of the game, which is great news for Queen fantasy managers. He is a weekly must-start in all IDP formats.
Seattle Seahawks
Ernest Jones
Veteran linebacker Ernest Jones will wear the dot for the Seattle Seahawks in 2025 and is the linchpin of this defense.
He played 100% of defensive snaps with 76 total in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers. Jones recorded eight tackles and an interception and is well on his way to another season of monster production for IDP managers. He is a locked-in LB1.
San Francisco 49ers
Fred Warner
The Fred Warner green dot show of 2024 makes an encore appearance in 2025 as he once again heads up the 49ers’ defensive unit.
He played 94% of defensive snaps with 49 total in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks. San Francisco limited the Seahawks to just 52 offensive snaps and played mostly a nickel defense package. Robert Saleh runs an IDP-friendly scheme that saw Warner play all but three defensive snaps. Consider Warner and a high-end IDP asset with elite upside.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Lavonte David
The Buccaneers are going to run it back again with veteran Lavante David as their green dot linebacker for the 2025 season.
He played 100% of defensive snaps with 76 total in Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons. Tampa Bay typically employs a five-man front, which leaves them with only two off-ball LBs in most situations. This scheme leaves David as the linebacker to roster in IDP formats.
Tennessee Titans
Cody Barton
Amani Hooker wore the dot for the Titans in 2024, but Cody Barton will wear it for Tennessee in 2025 after coming over from the Denver Broncos this offseason.
He played 100% of defensive snaps with 76 total in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos. The Titans played an IDP-friendly zone scheme for more than 70% of the game, making Barton a great play in IDP formats. He racked up nine tackles and is well on his way to a productive season.
Washington Commanders
Bobby Wagner
I had hoped the Commanders would take a shot and give the dot to Frankie Luvu, but instead, they went with the safe play and gave the dot to veteran Bobby Wagner, who wore it last year.
He played 100% of defensive snaps with 68 total in Week 1 against the New York Giants. Similar to last season, Washington runs a hybrid-dime defensive scheme with two off-ball LBs. Wagner and Luvu both played 100% of defensive snaps, and both are viable IDP starters, with the veteran Wagner having a slightly higher ceiling and slightly safer floor.
