2025 Fantasy Football: Mock Draft from the Third Slot

Another fantasy football mock draft. This time, it is from the 3rd spot in a 12-team league. The same format still follows. It is one QB, two RBs, two WRs, one TE, and two FLEX’s. This mock draft features me starting with two running backs and then four straight wide receivers. Stay tuned to find out who!

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2025 season.

Mock Draft from the Third Slot

1.03 – Jahmyr Gibbs

Jahmyr Gibbs finished as the RB1 overall in full PPR. That was with David Montgomery playing 14 games. Behind the best offensive line in football, Gibbs should be a consensus top-five pick in fantasy football. He had 250 rush attempts in 2024 and saw over 1400 yards to go along with over 500 receiving yards. Also, Gibbs had 20 total touchdowns, which was number one. He ranked in the top six in rushing and receiving yards, receptions, and touchdowns—automatic smash pick after Bijan Robinson and Ja’Marr Chase, respectively, speaking.

2.10 – Chase Brown

Chase Brown snuck into the overall RB1 finishes last season with an RB10 finish. He also finished as the RB14 in PPG. The Cincinnati Bengals have one of, if not the best, offenses in the entire NFL. Brown will not only see another 200 rush attempts, but he will see a massive number of receptions. Brown had 54 receptions in 2024, which was fifth for running backs and 11 total touchdowns. In such a high-powered offense and paired up with Gibbs in this mock draft, the RB firepower is strong.

3.03 – Garrett Wilson

Garrett Wilson is a no-brainer pick for me if he is there in the third round every time. He is with college QB, Justin Fields. Although Fields suffered a toe injury, it is reported he will be ready for Week 1. More importantly, Wilson has no competition for targets in the receiving room. He is bound for another 100-catch season with over 150 targets in 2025. He is one of my favorite picks this year in fantasy football.

4.10 – DK Metcalf

DK Metcalf has not finished as WR1 since 2020. That was also his best season from a statistical standpoint. This season, he has a fresh start as a Pittsburgh Steeler with old man, Aaron Rodgers, as his QB. Currently, Metcalf has an ADP of WR22. I think he finishes as a top 15 WR in 2025, being the top pass-catcher for the Steelers.

5.03 – Tetairoa McMillan

We have all seen the videos from this offseason. What is saving McMillan from not being a disappointment is the fact that he is not going as high as Marvin Harrison Jr did in 2024. McMillan has all the makings of an alpha WR1 in the NFL and for fantasy football. Being able to draft him as the WR29 is a gift from the fantasy Gods.

6.10 – Calvin Ridley

Calvin Ridley has seen consecutive seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards with lackluster qb play, including the mayonnaise man, Will Levis. In 2025, Ridley gets the number one pick from the 2025 NFL Draft, Cam Ward throwing him the ball. The hype around Ward and Ridley cannot be understated. Ridley is being drafted as a WR3 as he finished as one last season, but with improved QB play, he is closer to a top WR in 2025.

7.03 – Bo Nix

I cannot and will not stop drafting Bo Nix in fantasy football. He has worked out with the legendary Drew Brees this season, and as I have repeatedly stated, he has Sean Payton as his coach. Nix is elite when it comes to rushing the ball. In his first two NFL games, he threw four interceptions. The rest of the season, he threw just eight. Nix with Sean Payton has all the makings for a fun and exciting QB in the NFL and for fantasy football.

8.10 – Brian Robinson

I skipped out on drafting a tight end here because there were still a plethora of them after this pick. I went with Brian Robinson for the TD upside. He had nine in 2023 and eight last season. I believe Robinson will see double-digit TDs in 2025. Currently, as the RB30 based on his ADP, I will select Robinson to stash on my bench with no issues.
