Christmas season is here, and that means two things: The Santa Clause is on TV, and your fantasy team needs one final push to reach the playoffs. Week 13 Fantasy QB Recap

Patrick Mahomes came up short against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, but he came up HUGE for fantasy managers with 29.4 fantasy points. Jordan Love delivered an impressive 25.8 fantasy points on the road against Detroit. Marcus Mariota made his third-straight start for Jayden Daniels (elbow) and finished with 24.3 points, proving once again that his rushing upside (“Mari-o-TAH!”) can turn any spot start into a serviceable fantasy week.

On the disappointing side, Matthew Stafford struggled badly with 13.6 points, Caleb Williams managed just 10.5, and Aaron Rodgers finished with a brutal 2.7 fantasy points after being strip-sacked by Nick Bosa… and yes, the nose injury certainly didn’t help.

With playoffs on the line, every QB decision becomes magnified. So let’s dive into Week 14’s best — and riskiest — quarterback plays.

🔥 High-Total Games (Shootout Potential — 47+)

These matchups carry real shootout juice — ideal for stacking your top-tier quarterbacks and leaning into upside.

Dallas Cowboys @ Detroit Lions — O/U 53.5 (DET -3.5)

Dak Prescott (QB2) has been one of the most consistent high-end fantasy QBs lately, posting QB3, QB3, and QB6 finishes over his past three games. Now he gets a dome environment against Detroit’s struggling pass defense. Even as road underdogs, Dallas should be pushed into a pass-heavy script. Dak remains an elite QB1 with 300-yard, multi-TD upside in the highest-total game of the week.

Jared Goff (QB3) gets a favorable home spot against a Cowboys defense that’s been shaky on the road. He’s consistently better indoors, and with Detroit’s offense humming, he profiles as a rock-solid mid-to-high QB1 this week. Ideally Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) suits up, but even if he doesn’t, Goff still carries a Top-10 floor against a flailing Dallas defense. Expect strong efficiency and multiple scoring drives in what should be a track-meet environment.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Buffalo Bills — O/U 52.0 (BUF -6.5)

Joe Burrow (QB10) had an excellent return from his turf-toe injury last week and now draws a Bills defense that’s improved but still gives up steady production to traditional pocket passers. The high projected total keeps him squarely in low-end QB1 territory. Expect high pass volume as Cincinnati tries to keep pace.

Josh Allen (QB1) is in a smash spot at home with a defense that can produce short fields and an offense that continues to lean on his dual-threat ability in the red zone. He’s the overall QB1 for a reason — elite floor, elite ceiling, elite matchup.

Los Angeles Rams @ Arizona Cardinals — O/U 48.0 (LAR -8)

Matthew Stafford (QB6) is in a fantastic spot against an Arizona defense that has allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to quarterbacks on average over the past three weeks. Stafford has been sharp, and with the Rams pushing tempo and converting red-zone trips, he carries top-eight QB upside this week.

Jacoby Brissett (QB9) draws a tough matchup against the Rams, but his mobility and willingness to push the ball downfield give him a low-end QB1/high-end QB2 floor. With Arizona likely playing from behind, he should have no trouble maintaining his recent QB1-level production.

Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars — O/U 47.5 (IND -1.5)

Trevor Lawrence (QB13) has posted QB1 finishes in three straight weeks, and both the matchup and total at home keep him firmly in the streaming mix. Indy has allowed chunk plays through the air, and Lawrence’s efficiency and mobility should be on full display. He’s a high-end QB2 with low-end QB1 upside if Jacksonville leans more pass-heavy.

Daniel Jones (QB15) has been producing better fantasy numbers than expected thanks to strong weapons and newfound efficiency. Jacksonville’s defense can be attacked through the air, but playing on the road — and managing a broken fibula — makes this a much tougher spot. He’s more of a fringe QB2 despite the solid total.

⚖️ Mid-Range Totals (Balanced — 44 to 47)

These games can break either way — fantasy desserts or defensive casserole, depending on the script.

Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers — O/U 44.5 (GB -5.5)

Caleb Williams (QB17) has flashed elite playmaking ability, but his recent QB25 finish and Green Bay’s pass rush make him a risky start. He profiles as a mid-to-low QB2 with rushing upside, keeping him playable in deeper formats.

Jordan Love (QB14) remains a boom-or-bust QB2 who’s struggled with accuracy but can exploit Chicago’s secondary at home. The game total keeps him in the high-end QB2 mix, especially with the comfort of a home environment.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Baltimore Ravens — O/U 44.0 (BAL -6.5)

Lamar Jackson (QB5) has struggled badly of late, finishing as the QB29, QB25, and QB27 over his past three games. So why keep him this high? Because Jackson is always a threat to post elite fantasy numbers thanks to his rushing floor and heavy red-zone involvement. Pittsburgh can be attacked on the ground and through off-script plays, keeping him firmly in the elite tier despite the recent slump.

Aaron Rodgers (QB25) continues to struggle to produce fantasy points and now gets a brutal defensive matchup. Only for emergency situations.

Seattle Seahawks @ Atlanta Falcons — O/U 43.5 (SEA -8)

Sam Darnold (QB17) has been surprisingly competent, but recent clunkers — combined with a road matchup and Seattle’s run-heavy tendencies — cap his ceiling. He’s a mid-range QB2.

Kirk Cousins (QB26) is hard to trust in this offense, and the matchup isn’t doing him any favors. Only viable in deep superflex formats.

❄️ Low-Total Games (Tough Matchups — 43 or Below)

These games project a slower pace, defensive pressure, and limited scoring upside.

New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers — O/U 43.0 (TB -8.5)

Tyler Shough (QB23) faces a slicable Tampa Bay defense on the road, but hasn’t shown enough consistency to be trusted. Only a deep-league dart throw.

Baker Mayfield (QB11) has been steady for most of the year and gets a home matchup where Tampa should control the game. He’s a viable low-end QB1 despite the total.

Houston Texans @ Kansas City Chiefs — O/U 42.0 (KC -3)

C.J. Stroud (QB20) isn’t the same fantasy producer this season and now gets Kansas City on the road. A mid-to-low QB with upside if he’s able to keep up with Mahomes.

Patrick Mahomes (QB4) has the highest ceiling in this game but a tougher defensive matchup than usual—still a must-start QB1 with multi-score upside.

Washington Commanders @ Minnesota Vikings — O/U 42.0 (MIN +2)

Marcus Mariota (QB16) continues to provide fantasy value thanks to his legs, but Minnesota’s pass rush makes him volatile. A mid-range QB2 with rushing upside.

J.J. McCarthy (QB22) hasn’t shown enough consistency to start confidently. Only a deep-league option.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Los Angeles Chargers — O/U 41.0 (PHI -2.5)

Jalen Hurts (QB8) maintains elite touchdown upside due to his prominent rushing role, particularly near the goal line. This high-floor potential remains intact even against a tough Chargers defense on the road. He stands firm as a mid-range QB1 with a strong floor and significant ceiling.

Justin Herbert (QB7) has been highly efficient and steady when playing at home. However, the Philadelphia Eagles’ aggressive pass rush presents a notable challenge. Despite this, he remains a mid-QB1 option, driven by his exceptional talent and anticipated passing volume.

Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets — O/U 41.0 (MIA -3)

Tua Tagovailoa (QB27) has seen his fantasy stock drop recently due to inconsistent passing output and a minimal rushing floor. While the Jets’ defense has been depleted by trade deadline moves, Tua remains a high-risk, high-upside Superflex option at best.

Tyrod Taylor (QB19) offers rushing juice but a low passing ceiling. Miami can generate pressure, making him a shaky but serviceable superflex play.

Denver Broncos @ Las Vegas Raiders — O/U 40.5 (DEN -7.5)

Bo Nix (QB12) has been efficient and safe with the football, but the low total and likely run-heavy script limit his ceiling. But I expect the sophomore quarterback to provide managers with low-end QB1/high-end QB2 numbers still.

Geno Smith (QB18) faces a significant challenge on the road in a slow-paced matchup against Denver’s vaunted pass rush. Given the difficult game environment, he is not worth starting outside of deep leagues and Superflex formats.

Tennessee Titans @ Cleveland Browns — O/U 33.5 (CLE -4)

Cam Ward (QB28) sits at the bottom of your rankings for a reason. On the road, in the lowest-total game of the week, he’s not startable.

Shedeur Sanders (QB24) draws an extremely favorable matchup against a Titans defense that has surrendered the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks over their last three contests. Managers can anticipate low-end QB2 production with some upside.
