2025 Fantasy Football: Week 2 Quarterback Rankings

What a bizarre and wild Week 1 we just witnessed. Justin Fields finished as the QB2, Daniel Jones was right behind him as QB3, and “old man” Aaron Rodgers turned back the clock with one of his best games in years, producing a QB7 finish with 25.7 fantasy points. It was the kind of week that reminded us how unpredictable the quarterback position can be.

Heading into Week 2, there are plenty of bounce-back spots for stars who underwhelmed (Burrow, Goff, Lawrence), as well as regression candidates for those who overachieved (Fields, Jones, even Rodgers). The dust is just starting to settle — and the next few weeks will help separate true breakouts from Week 1 mirages.

🔦 Matchup Spotlights

The headliner this week is Jayden Daniels vs. Jordan Love as Washington travels to Green Bay in a game with a 49.0 total. Daniels didn’t have to do much in last week’s blowout win over the Giants (QB13, 20.1 fantasy points), but he should need to unleash his full toolkit in Lambeau. His rushing keeps him locked into the Top 5. Love was steady but unspectacular in Week 1 (QB17, 15.9 fantasy points). He’s more of a low-end QB2, but his weapons and game environment give him clear upside.

Next up is Joe Burrow vs. Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville–Cincinnati, the highest total on the slate at 49.5. Burrow struggled badly in Week 1 (QB27, 8.8 fantasy points), but a bounce-back at home against a weak Jaguars defense feels inevitable. Lawrence wasn’t much better (QB23, 11.3 fantasy points), yet he draws one of the softest matchups of the week. With Thomas and Hunter in his arsenal, Lawrence has real stacking appeal if this turns into a shootout.

Finally, we turn to the NFC North with Caleb Williams vs. Jared Goff. Chicago–Detroit sits at 47.5, and while the Lions are comfortable -6 home favorites, Williams flashed the full fantasy repertoire in his debut (QB9, 24.2 fantasy points). His rushing and weapons make him a must-start in all formats. Goff disappointed in Week 1 (QB21, 11.9 fantasy points), but returning home to a dome sets him up for a bounce-back performance. If the Bears’ offense keeps pace, both sides of this matchup could turn into one of the slate’s sneakiest shootouts.

🔥 High-Total Games (Shootout Potential – 47+)

These matchups are the likeliest to deliver fantasy fireworks.

Jacksonville at Cincinnati — 49.5 (CIN -3.5)
→ Burrow is in a smash spot at home. Lawrence still has to prove consistency, but with Thomas and Hunter emerging he brings plenty of stacking juice. This could be the slate’s premier game environment.

Washington at Green Bay — 49.0 (GB -3.5)
→ Early-season shootout vibes. Daniels faces a tough test at Lambeau, but his rushing ability keeps him locked into the Top 5. Love’s growing arsenal gives him legitimate QB1 upside.

Chicago at Detroit — 47.5 (DET -6)
→ Williams’ rushing and weapons make him a must-start even in a tough road matchup. Goff is steady in dome splits and has ceiling potential if the Bears keep pace.

L.A. Chargers at Las Vegas — 47.0 (LAC -3.5)
→ Herbert could explode if forced into volume. The Raiders remain volatile, though Geno’s strong Week 1 could roll into Week 2.

⚖️ Mid-Range Totals (Balanced – 44 to 46.5)

Decent scoring environments that could swing based on game flow.

Philadelphia at Kansas City — 46.5 (KC +1)
→ Hurts’ rushing vs. Mahomes’ passing is always DFS gold. Ceiling depends on whether KC’s receivers step up with Worthy and Rice sidelined.

Buffalo at N.Y. Jets — 46.0 (BUF -6.5)
→ Allen is always viable. Fields will try to keep his momentum against a defense that just let Lamar Jackson score 29.4 fantasy points.

Cleveland at Baltimore — 45.5 (BAL -11.5)
→ Lamar carries elite ceiling even in blowout scripts. Flacco has 2-QB desperation appeal if/when he’s forced to throw to keep pace with the high-flying Ravens.

N.Y. Giants at Dallas — 44.5 (DAL -6)
→ Dak stacks are firmly in play. Russell could post back-end QB2 numbers if forced into catch-up mode.

Carolina at Arizona — 44.5 (ARI -7)
→ Kyler’s legs keep him safe regardless of game flow. Bryce Young remains a wait-and-see but is usable in deep superflex.

Atlanta at Minnesota — 44.5 (MIN -3.5)
→ Jefferson + McCarthy is a strong stack. The Falcons will try to slow things down, but if the game tilts, Penix Jr. offers sneaky ceiling.

New England at Miami — 44.0 (MIA -1)
→ Tua’s weapons can break any slate, and this profiles as a prime bounce-back spot at home. Maye’s rushing keeps him viable, but his ceiling is capped unless this turns into a shootout.

🛑 Low-Total Games (Defensive Grind – 43.5 or less)

Expect slower pace, defense-first play or run-heavy scripts.

Tampa Bay at Houston — 42.5 (HOU -2.5)
→ Stroud provides a safe floor, but the low total limits ceiling. Mayfield remains a top option thanks to his legs and an improved supporting cast highlighted by rookie phenom Emeka Egbuka.

Denver at Indianapolis — 42.0 (IND +2.5)
→ Expect a balanced, slower script. Nix’s mobility keeps him viable. Jones faces a tougher test but could grind out low-end QB2 numbers thanks to his legs.

San Francisco at New Orleans — 40.5 (NO +3.5)
→ San Francisco’s skill talent fuels its offensive production, but with Purdy sidelined this week, the quarterback situation takes a hit. Mac Jones was serviceable as a starter last season, yet he’s no more than a desperation QB3 option now. Rattler brings only low-end QB3 upside—some rushing ability and decent weapons, but limited ceiling overall.

Seattle at Pittsburgh — 40.5 (PIT -3)
→ An ugly slog. Both QBs are boom-or-bust and tough to trust outside of superflex.
