2026 NFL Draft: The Top 5 WR Landing Spots

Next week is the NFL Draft, which is an event that us Dynasty Fantasy Football degenerates have had circled on our calendars for quite some time now. The draft is often unpredictable, which makes those few days even more exciting. The NFL Draft is always a domino effect in the end for Fantasy Football, with players landing on their NFL teams, which impacts not just themselves but the players surrounding them on that team for Dynasty.

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax this season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune next season.

Talent over landing spot when it comes to Dynasty Fantasy Football rookies…but landing spots still matter. Understanding the NFL team landscape can help with evaluating what happens in the NFL Draft. Some landing spots are simply more appealing than others, due to contextual reasons. So before the NFL Draft kicks off, I wanted to give you my “Top 5” landing spots for wide receivers in the NFL Draft. Oh, and of course…why.

2026 NFL Draft: The Top 5 WR Landing Spots

5. San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers will not roster all of Jauan Jennings, Brandon Aiyuk, and Kendrick Bourne in 2026. Jennings vacates 90 targets and Bourne 53. The 49ers did sign Mike Evans to a three-year contract and Christian Kirk to a one-year deal. George Kittle is 32 and coming off an Achilles injury, Christian McCaffrey is 29, Mike Evans is 32, and Christian Kirk is 29. Brock Purdy averaged 240.8 passing yards and 2.22 passing touchdowns per game in 2025. Ricky Pearsall can continue growing in his year three, but the future looks wide open for pass-catching in a solid Kyle Shanahan system.

4. Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders selecting Fernandon Mendoza with the first overall pick of the 2026 NFL Draft seems like a 99.9% lock. That would make for an excellent trio of Mendoza, sixth overall pick Ashton Jeanty at running back from 2025, and 13th overall pick Brock Bowers at tight end from the 2024 NFL Draft. But what about the wide receiver room? In 2025, Bowers played just 12 games, and there still was not a wide receiver to catch 50 balls or eclipse 700 receiving yards. Tre Tucker, Jack Bech, Jalen Nailor, and Dont’e Thornton make up one of the weakest wide receiver rooms in the NFL. The Raiders can anchor their QB1, RB1, TE1, and then WR1 in this year’s draft.

3. New Orleans Saints

Chris Olave had a dominant 2025 season, commanding 156 targets. After that though, the next target earner was veteran Juwan Johnson with 102, then Rashid Shaheed with 66 through just nine games as a Saint. Tyler Shough looked the part during his rookie campaign through 10 starts, with five of those games finished with 250 passing yards, two with 300+ passing yards, and three with multiple passing touchdowns. The Saints signed Travis Etienne and Noah Fant this offseason to build their offense up more beyond Shough and Olave. Devaughn Vele flashed last season, but a true rookie WR2 to complement Olave could command a huge role in this offense right away.

2. Washington Commanders

The Commanders had a down year, which was highly impacted by just seven games played for Jayden Daniels. This came after a rock-solid Daniels rookie season, where he passed for 3,568 yards and 25 touchdowns. Deebo Samuel led the Commanders in targets with 99, in a year where Terry McLaurin played just 10 games. Zach Ertz earned the second-most targets with 72 through 13 games, and was replaced with Chig Okonkwo this offseason. Deebo will be gone via Free Agency, and McLaurin will regain that WR1 role. A rookie landing in Washington means a long-term connection to Daniels, the WR2 role behind McLaurin, and with Terry being 30 it could mean the team’s future WR1 role.

1. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins have made many changes this offseason, basically “blowing it up”. Jeff Hafley replaces Mike McDaniel as the Head Coach, Bobby Slowik was promoted to the Offensive Coordinator, Tua Tagovailoa was released and replaced by Malik Willis, Jaylen Waddle was traded to Denver, Tyreek Hill is looking for a new home, and Darren Waller is also looking for a new home. Waddle vacates 100 targets, and the remaining pass-catching group of Malik Washington, Jalen Tolbert, Tutu Atwell, and Greg Dulcich is the worst in the NFL currently. A rookie wide receiver can easily step in and earn 120+ targets, and even if Willis’ passing attributes are a question mark, volume is king.
